    Good video Matt. It is amazing how much firewood a couple of guys can make in a day.

      It is wild how much you can get done with extra help in the woodyard.

    Matt, your TH-cam channel should be called Hills of Firewood, LOL! The three amigos team are killing it fast!
    The only concern is mold down near the bottom of the mountains of firewood. I made mounds of firewood a couple years ago, didn't stack for a couple months, and the wood got a bit moldy, but my wood was green then. Not sure how dry yours is.
    Steve from Oregon, in Kansas.

      Yeah I’ve had piles and they were moldy at the very bottom but they were on the ground everything else was in great shape. I do have pallets down so I’m hoping I have no mold. We will see.

      @Firewood on the Hill Matt, I didn't realize you have pallets down, that will definitely help wind flow and prevent mold. 2 more days I fly back to snowy Oregon. Your in-laws probably got some snow.

    Here’s what you do about that pile of firewood…make more piles…even bigger piles! So big people see it from the street…and come next fall they’ll remember and come back to get it! Looking good!

    Hi Matt. Would you still upgrade to the wolf ridge or stay with the country line spitter if you were splitting 7 cord for personal heat.

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would stick to the county line. I would get the 4 way and you can speed up the process.

    Have a stacking day…put it a few weeks out on a Saturday. You probably got more subscribers close by than you think. March or April before it gets hotter than hells front porch… I’m about an hour North in Pilot Mountain and would be happy to help. Many hands would make for quick work.

    Seen some poplar in there do you just keep it mixed in with the other wood?

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, as long as it mixed there is no problems with poplar.

    • @shawnwilliams7041
      @shawnwilliams7041 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've had some that I mixed in and got nothing but complaints but I also live in se Missouri where everyone thinks that the only firewood is oak.. I ended up keeping it all and burning it myself in my boiler.
      You planning on stacking all that wood?

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shawnwilliams7041 yeah there are picky people for sure. I sell mostly to fireplace and camp fire customers who don’t care. Ppl who have boilers will say no poplar but it’s not too often that I get that. I’m going to have to stack to get as much wood in my yard as possible. So I’m good to stack and pile it up.

    • @shawnwilliams7041
      @shawnwilliams7041 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've got plenty of room so I dont stack but I will say the bottom couple feet doesn't dry real well. And I've also noticed anything over about 20 ft wide the center will mold and not dry at all. Piling on rock seems to help. I've got 2 rows about 20 ft wide about 14 tall and 100 ft long ready to go for next year. When I pull off the piles I'll pull off the long side take it off in layers I'd guess you would say. No problems with dry wood that way.

    • @FirewoodontheHill
      @FirewoodontheHill  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shawnwilliams7041 that sounds like a nice setup. Last year I had a 20ft pile that was around 10ft tall and the center didn’t dry as well either. I had it on the ground though so the bottom did have some mold on it but I only had to throw a couple pieces of wood out.

    Let the splitter push the splits on conveyor, and move conveyor when pile gets too high. Your workin’ too hard.

    Looks like one of you thinks about safety when running a saw. I started to wear chaps when I had 2 close calls that was enough for me. But you got a lot done with 3 of you.

    • @FirewoodontheHill
