As someone who tried to make the Hunter deck work I gotta disagree with C. Could be that maybe a year ago, but its just too slow to pop off, whether it's trying to build a Rhino OTK or just trying to win on board. I gave up when Questline Pirate Warrior was beating it all the time, and now Questline Pirate Warrior gets beaten senselessly by anything relevant, the deck feels too many tiers behind for me to try again. Do want to see a meme build with Pelican Diver though. Sick OTK build-up, can even set up the Rhino a turn ahead of time with the Hunter Secret that makes it Dormant for 1 Turn.
@@KnownAsKenji that's possible, it was kind iffy fun deck in the past but I have no idea how it plays now. My rating are based on the last iteration of each deck I have seen or played. The hunter one could very well be one of the worst now along with shaman and Warlock.
@Lukas Nero the shaman quest is pointless in the deck its meant for and sometimes it can harm the deck. I think having another aggressive murloc in the starting hand to help kill the opponent is better than turn one do almost nothing. Warlock is bad no doubt and druid is a bit of a meme deck. I feel galvadon isn't as bad as the shaman quest as he doesn't really hurt the deck and he would likely see play in libram if they didn't have better options.

Jungle Giants with the Cubed-Devilsaurs-into-Deathwing OTK is one of my favorite decks in the history of HS. Thank you for the nostalgic stroll through Un'goro, it triggered many wonderful adjacent memories from my life during this meta.
The last kaleidosaur was my favourite of the ungoro quests, i loved playing it even though it wasnt great, mainly because of kibler playing it constantly and the song to go with it
To this day, I still play marsh queen and I've played it since it released. Every time I swear its good and then lose but I don't want to stop the meme now that I've 3000 games on that deck :D
Galvadon has never been a win condition, and it WAS actively played in libram value paladin decks. His quest is more of a utility quest, similarly to priest or shaman ones, you were supposed to include them in the deck as an addition, not build the whole deck around them like rogue or druid. Also playing galvadon without his theme song is a crime against humanity. "Galvadon, The Last Kaleidosaur, he's got stealth and a whole lot more, Galvadon, The Last Kaleidosaur, he's not that bad if you dont die turn 4..."
>His quest is more of a utility quest This guy gets it. He's not a wincon, he's just really good utility if you're already playing a deck that casts lots of spells on your minions.
Jungle giants was my first hearthstone legendary. I still remember the good old days of dribbling with excitement as I ultimate infestated into 5 huge minions
Your longer video like this one are golden 😁 Long time wild player here - discard warlock is very good, but built without the quest and focusing on tempo discards The version you played just syphons your will to live 😂
I have every quest in unguro, and I actively play with a lot of them in wild. Gotta say the most fun it the hunter quest, because otking your opponent with 5 buffed raptors and a tundra rhino never gets old.
This is honestly one of if not the best gameplay video I've ever seen... The commentary coupled with reactions were just priceless.. great video !!!!! 💯
Murloc quest Shaman wasn't bad because there were no good murlocks, it was just really awkard to play a tribe with an aggro archetype and always skip your onedrop.
Ghost Light Angler is one of the best cards for completing Unite the Murlocs, carried my Quest Shaman deck for so long back in the ol Un'goro-Witchwood days
As a long time quest rogue player i think the most legit current way to play: Flybooter and the stormpike ram commander dude are your quest conditions, then you run 2xbrewmasters and 2xferrymen and 2xshadowstep for bounce. That's probably your absolute core pack, i haven't found something smaller that still consistently delivers on turn 5. Then the tastes vary i suppose. I also run dummy, novice engineer, bluegill, charge pig and zola plus some personal removal favourites (eviscerate and sap) and a pinch of draw (cloning pod for flavour). I also ocassionally switch in the bounce secret, but i'm not a 100% on that. I actually oppose secret passage because in this deck it feels a bit like win more 90% of the time and i rarely get use out of it to finish the quest. But the gist is that you shouldn't have to care if they wipe your rams or pirates before you play the quest. Optimally, you bounced 2 of the battlecries and trigger it that way (~20% of wins) and have just have enough 1 or 2 mana 5/5 dudes you can drown your opponent in, or you still have half a board in cheap utility minions or chargers in hand that are 5/5 now. A brewmaster a pig and shadowstep are 15 damage off hand for 3 mana with 10 body on the board. And that's only the dream. It doesn't matter that you only play shitty replacement effects on 1/1 sticks or random combo pieces after the quest is through, nothing but the most sinister frost mage can deal with a consistent stream of 5/5 for long, there isn't enough removal in the world. It also doesn't hurt at all to abandon curve for a more optimal play or hand setup. Because yes, nothing is more emberassing than being caught with your proverbial pants down, throwing out a caverns turn 5 into topdecking counterfeit coins or shadowsteps. The tempo boost you gain from the stats and the consistent stream of minions once you are properly set up is way worth it to lose some tempo early on. The stormpike rams btw, if it wasn't enough that you now have 4 cards in deck to consistently and safely turn 5, also come with rush. Valley was a real good set for caverns rogue.
Ungoro was such a great expansion and I still play many of the quests today. And honestly the Marsch queen can be a strong deck if build right. The issue with jungle giants is that it only reduced the cost off stuff in your deck, you not only had to complete then path the quest, but also draw minions from your deck. The mage you were against while playing shaman may have been Luna’s pocket galaxy
so my approach to time warp mage has traditionally been a Giants exodia : simulacrum allows you to copy enough giants to get lethal through 40, though after the nerf to open the waygate (8 cards, up from 6) it's less consistent. Priest I still use as the core for a Hakkar the Soulflayer deck. because I find it funny to make people draw excessive amounts of proliferating self-damage
Druid quest got 100x easier as you can ramp a lot more, discover copies of cards from your deck, you can have more cards in the deck and just generally survive longer easier :D 3:45 I laughed so hard hahaha
Boy lacari sacrafice is a real weird design in hindsight. It sounds like a good effect but even at the time is was a real slow burn of pressure that wasnt too hard to manage going through mid game. It theoretically win you a late game scenario but not only are you never getting there when so much of your deck needs to be discarded but discard warlock as a whole has only ever been "good" in aggro
Hello, I really liked your video! I didn't play Hearthstone at the time of those quests, but seeing you playing them nowadays was really entertaining. Keep up the good work and could you try doing Uldum quests like this video, or in other words: The impossible Uldum challenge!
Really great and entertaining video, totally not because you were suffering or anything. Also I watch a lot of nonmeta wild decks, what you could've added to your warlock deck is Bloodreaver Gul'dan the Hero Card that let's you resummon all demons and change your hero power, that would've probably made it a lot easier. You could res doomguard and also do direct damage with the hero power. I hate to backseat but just really wanted to tell you
i used to play queen carnasa alot. it was still good before the new quests came out. masters call, starving buzzard, buff wolpetinger with dire frenzy, charge em in with tunda rhino. man good old days.
Props for not netdecking, there are builds for all of these Quests that will win eventually, even a couple that are semi-legit in the meta, but that's the easy way out. Makes me more interested to see what you do with the Hunter one, I spent years trying to make that work, looked forward to seeing 1-drops in expansion reveal videos, it always felt so close to being (kind of) good. I only finally gave up when Stormwind Questlines came out and I went 'yeah I'm not gonna try to compete with that'. Look forward to seeing how that deck goes when I get to it in the video. I never netdecked it, compared my deck to it though, so now Rarran's take can be a nice third comparison point. I'll comment again if I have any more thoughts on it.
Oh yeah the Hunter deck is jank. Master's Call in a build that isn't Beasts. No Jar Dealer. Mr. Smite instead of Leeroy because Rarran doesn't know what Wild cards are. 1 Call of the Wild for some reason. Snark aside, good to see it was decent enough, well done Rarran.
Credit for not going with Halazzi, a lot of Quest Hunter builds in the past were dead set on making that work but I never felt it was good. Either you draw her and get way too many resources, or don't draw her and dry out. Awesome card, but polarized and not very consistent on its own.
It's cool how some of these decks are real strategies still, but it's hilarious how many of them are real decks made worse by running the quest "designed" for them (Discard warlock, murlock shaman, libram paladin)
Seeing as how now they’re bringing back old cards with buffs for the core set, I’d love them to do a discard core set one year and bring back the warlock quest with buffs. I think making it “summon two 3/2 imps with rush at the start of your turn” would be better, or something else that would make this better because I miss discardlock.
I built all of these decks when they were current. If you just upgrade your deck lists and gear them more towards the quest theme even the worst ones would actually be fun. And win more easily
Not only do I have to win with the quest, I have to add the quest to my deck, win the game with the quest reward and win the game as much as possible with the quest reward. This is like when you're trying to fill the word count in an essay lmao
call of the finishers summons 4 1/1's that all count towards the quest- back then youd see it in every murlock deck cause anyone playing murlock at that time (thankfully before paladin got their dirty grimy fingers on them) was playing this quest lmao
the mech paladin loss gave me flashbacks to when i went against mech mage and they RANDOMLY GENERATED 8 of the mech that gets stats when you play another mech
I feel like the problem witb quest paladin and quest warlock is that they give you good rewards that don't fit your deck at all. Imagine if the warlock quest gave you an effect where all discarded cards returned to your hand, included the ones discarded up to that point...now, THAT would've been s win condition.
6:35 it was strange and disorienting to hear two of you talking at the same time, maybe set the volume of one audio higher than the other, but amazing video overall. Easily one of my favorite content creators
Love the awesome content. As someone who picked up the game recently its awesome to learn about older cards and how they could be used today! Also, not to be mean love anything you post, but you might want to get a new camera since whenever you zoom in your face the quality difference between the game and camera sticks out. By no means does it make the video worse, but it could make your videos even better!
Best of luck in the free2play style if that's what you're going for. I've been going at free2play for years, even started an alt a year ago for fun and to test more. It's definitely worth it as long as you're patient for Daily Quests. Travel well and always keep an eye out for value, friend.
Always leave an Arena run up, guaranteed value. Never hit 'disenchant all' unless you really need to. Nerf dusts be sick in the long run. Just two tips I like to drop off when I can.

Except Mage I guess, he totally netdecked or chatdecked that one. Shame. Wanted to see his take on that. STFU chat.
Awesome card, but polarized and not very consistent on its own.
actually top tier hearthstone content
I remember all these quests. I wanted marsh queen and the kalidosaur to be good so badly but they were consistently bad.
Galvadon the last kaleidosaur, ooof that brings back kibler memories
I just love this video. please please 🥺 do this challenge with the hero power quests. like that buy 20 cards, or end turns with spare mana
God I loved Un’goro, murloc quest shaman is still my favorite deck of all time
It's cool how some of these decks are real strategies still, but it's hilarious how many of them are real decks made worse by running the quest "designed" for them (Discard warlock, murlock shaman, libram paladin)
Such fun content. A lot of memories running warrior quest.
Hmm can't wait for the Impossible Spellstone Challenge haha
Hey man Embiggen helps Jungle Giants a ton. If you hit it early it can actually steamroll with Embiggened charge minions you can copy with moonlight.
@20:36.. "That's my phone!" 💢💥 LMAO 🤣😂🤣
admit it rarran: you liked playing the mage quest -the degeneracy is actually comforting
I remember playing a lot of Galvadon back in the day after copying a deck from Kibler
I was trying to make it as clear as possible what the point of each deck was, but I agree lol
@@Rarran ahaha all good
Still in the "Do you know hearthstone? W/ Forsen" Waiting room
I have a wonderful (somewhat competitive) jungle giants deck that uses embiggen and a Malygos, Oracle of Elune, Moonbeam win condition. Trust me
call of the finishers summons 4 1/1's that all count towards the quest- back then youd see it in every murlock deck cause anyone playing murlock at that time (thankfully before paladin got their dirty grimy fingers on them) was playing this quest lmao
I like the commentary over the commentary
Also, on an unrelated note, the sentence 'After dissenchanting some stuff to craft [...] the last Kaleidosaur' has caused me physical harm i think :D
As for the druid quest, you play renathal and big stuffs while including the ragers as well.
Galvadon the last kaleidosaur. He's got windfury and so much more!
the mech paladin loss gave me flashbacks to when i went against mech mage and they RANDOMLY GENERATED 8 of the mech that gets stats when you play another mech
Hey, the last kaleidosaur is 10000% the best quest cuz galvadon has his own theme song
just went 1-2 with hunter quest, better than expected
Un'Goro was the best expansion ever
Now you have to do this for uldum quests !
awesome content, it was awesome that you crafted the cards just for content
16:12 This guy was probably trying to complete some quest involving fire spells, everything he played was a fire spell.
Un'Goro was the best expansion... When I didnt have to play against a Quest Rogue
Rarran, museum curator.
Ah yes, big priest with renathal. What could go wrong!
Quests always get me ! Dont know why but i just love em :o)
I feel like the problem witb quest paladin and quest warlock is that they give you good rewards that don't fit your deck at all. Imagine if the warlock quest gave you an effect where all discarded cards returned to your hand, included the ones discarded up to that point...now, THAT would've been s win condition.
Caverns Below alone brought me higher in my Hearthstone ladder experience than all other decks combined. Including Dragon Priest
Nice video, but I was slightly disappointed that you didn't the song when you played Galvadon
6:35 it was strange and disorienting to hear two of you talking at the same time, maybe set the volume of one audio higher than the other, but amazing video overall. Easily one of my favorite content creators
Very nice video man
great video as always rarran. absolute goat of hs content
Galvadon, the last Kaelidosaur~ That's all I hear when I see Galvadon because if Kibler
great idea and nice video, keep it up, you are FANTASTIC!
I hate that this video made me realize I haven’t played constructed hearthstone since 2017
I love how Rarran says Pepega lol
"even more challenging" I've watched many a wild player win with all of these quests.
you actually have a galaxy brain for content gj and thx 4 the entertainment
The warlock quest is quite literally Warlock's Titan but way worse lmao
