I enjoy his storytelling especially the stuff about the industry. He seems very down to earth, so it’s like a normal guy inside the Hollywood insanity.
Dave is one of the most underrated men in Hollywood in just about every category: he's genuinely hilarious, he's a legit ladies man, and he's very interesting. I've always liked him in Sandler movies, Joe Dirt was epic fun, and now with his talk show I'm a full tilt fan of his. Hence, why I'm watching this.
In the various things ive seen him on hes always nice and funny as he prob could be on whatever show stc.. but id watch and listen to both or them all the time. Have a whole new respect for hin!
I agree. He is one funny fucker, but please don't use the phrase "hence why". It's redundant. Hence already means therefore or 'this is the reason why...'. There is absolutely no reason to add the word 'why' when you've already used 'hence'. Yours sincerely, the Grammar Police (pleonasm dept.)
OK I'm glad I'm not the only one. I grew up never really thinking he was funny then I started seeing him everywhere because of Lights Out and he's always funny and interesting.
He was so natural in the role, I thought the character was who he probably is in real life; a lot of hilarious with a side of perv 😁 It was a case of bad timing but I bet it would do well with another run in a better time slot.
I must say, I hung w Spader a few times in the late 90’s and he is one of the most down to earth people in the business, I was doing Cousin Skeeter and The Amanda Show on Nick at the time and we all had so much fun with him, he’s always funny!!!✌🏽✌🏽
The more I see David Spade in interviews the more I like and respect him as a person. I’ve enjoyed his work since he was doing standup in acid washed jeans with front pleats, but it’s nice hearing him be more open about his personal life.
I enjoy his storytelling especially the stuff about the industry. He seems very down to earth, so it’s like a normal guy inside the Hollywood insanity.
Just Shoot Me definitely stood out to me. Amazing ensemble. Dennis Finch was savage. I guess not as many people watched Rules Of Engagement but Russell Dunbar was one of my TV faves. I watched that show over and over in syndication. Russell with Liz, Russell with Timmy, Russell and Jeff... Great show. Gotta love Spade.
I watch so much David Spade. He’s actually one of the most underrated comics. Love his vibe so much, he’s gonna go down as one of the greatest, like Norm.
It’s funny , I met David spade briefly at a restaurant one time , we were both waiting for the restroom haha shook his hand and said it’s good to see you , and he said it’s good to see you too , and then we both took out our phones and started looking at our screens nonchalantly lol he was totally approachable , cool guy 👍
@@PsychoGallagher she interrupts a bit much. If you listen, she can't get through her guests entire story or even two sentences without interjecting. But she's still cool in my books
Lol Davis is so old in his soul it’s hilarious. He made a comment implying about Jessica Simpson was like peak celeb rich. Loved this podcast I think we need more people like David spade now a days,
Absolutely. She stepped all over David at least half a dozen times. I was actually a bit surprised he didn’t say anything. Towards the end I kept expecting him to say something...playing it off under the guise of a joke, all the while being completely serious.
"Your primary caretakers... Do you mean your parents?" Whitney LOVES repeating ideas and phrases that she hears in a recovery meeting or a Shrink's office. I'm glad Spade called her on it bc she starts to sound like a crazy person.
@@emdiar6588 Guardian sounds like someone who's paid to be your bodyguard or someone who is a super hero who was sent to protect you because you are the last child of an alien race.
Primary caretaker is used to help social workers, teachers, case managers, etc...distinguish who is in charge of a child's upbringing. A mother and father can be involved in a child's life, but may not live with the child and/or are not in charge of daily living activities for the child. I worked in juvenile justice. Labeling someone the Primary Caretaker helps clarify who I need to work with when developing a treatment plan for a child. Otherwise I could spend weeks trying to chase down a kid's mom and dad for no reason (while the kid sits waiting in juvenile detention) because the parents have no caretaking role in the child's life. So the term is very useful.
Wow, not asking about Farley got me thinking how much I loved those two together. Abbott & Costello, Williams & Winters, Martin & Candy, and Farley & Spade. I know what to show my boys this week now. Thanks for this. Spade = Salt of the Earth
Spade is one of the funniest talk show/podcast guests ever. Have never seen him on something where he wasn't hilarious. I agree with Whitney about Spade's appearance on Norm's Netflix show being one of the effing funniest things ever. They are giving each other nonstop crap at such a rapid fire pace, I couldn't breathe for laughing so much.
I love David Spade. Never found his stand up to be really funny but his movies are awesome and when he does guest spots just being himself he is hilarious.
A physical relief to hear 2 (authentically) smart comedians converse. The host would benefit from some thoughtful help shaping the show better/ asking better questions. But lots of good stuff in this one.
I love David Spade. His movies are the best! I never missed an episode of *Just Shoot Me!* He was the best on Saturday Night Live - The Gap sketch with him asking: _did you cinch it?_ 😄
I was at the corporate gig that David followed Sinbad and Sinbad did kill cause he knew the gear and played the audience. It was rough at the beginning for David, but he won them over and ended well.
Whitney is so addicted to anything that keeps her from being down to earth and relatable. The way she lights up when a conversation goes towards anything Hollywood or income...
I know you said the opening was on the audio version but I really wish you’d keep the beginning with Benton in the TH-cam version as well! Need more Benton!

No idea why. All his material is hilarious to me now.
i think a lot of us grew up taking a lot of sitcoms for granted not realising how hard it is to be funny for ages 8-90.
He has become shitloads better with age though, like Norm.

I wonder what his experience was like working on Rules of Engagement. The show never got huge but it was really good. Underrated, for sure.
Loved it! Have watched the entire series 3 or 4 times. Spade was fantastic in it. Was pretty damn funny when they brought Timmy in too. Lol.
