Personally, I love Warly. He might be my favorite character to play. His character flavor is super fun and unique, and his playstyle makes you actually put thought into what you're eating.

Love Walani. Carry a stack of boards and shells with you and drop a surfboard whenever it gets to 30% in early game, and every island will have a vessel on it by the end of the first year. That comes in handy. If you base in a group of islands, surfboards are a cheap way to hop from one to the other, and you can leave them all over the place, so you’re not constantly having to fetch your boat around from the other side to make a quick journey. I also like surfing my insanity away. The low health is a drag, though.
As a warly main, i would definitaly agree, i love his chef pouch and portable crock pot, its make food last longer and serve food faster, also fun fact, when ever warly inspect a volt goat, he'll say "i had a goat once"
SolarMoney2112 I think they should make the world in such a way where a RoG island takes up about half the map, and said island is immune to all shipwrecked stuff (sealnado, volcano, winds) and a bunch of scattered shipwrecked islands immune to RoG stuff (winter, periodic boss spawns, and random combustion).
well a slow shift where the further away form RoG you are the more shipwrecked it is and the coast of RoG would not be immune to SW and they couldn't go up into mainland.

Some things to add about Woodlegs, his boat cannon can uncover buried treasure yes, but it can also be used to uproot bamboo, grass, twigs, vines, berry bushes, destroy boulders, rock piles, which usually means for the better part of the first season you dont need a shovel, and i've made it to day 100 without ever making a pickaxe. Also: you can fit an armored boat with Woodleg's cannon (possibly a bug), meaning you can have a sail, normal acceleration AND his glorious cannon.
When items in DS are destroyed with a Hammer, they give 1/2 the resources rounded up used to make them. -This makes it easier to destroy* a boat and rebuild it cheaper then repairing it early game. Upon destruction, the SeaLegs, drops 1/2(roundedup) the resources to make the boat, but it also drops 2 other items*(could be a bug, since they are refered to as MISSING ITEM*, and are invisible on ground), these 2 items are his Pirate Sail, and Pirate Cannon. so with the 1cocanade, 2 dubloon, 2 planks, you can remake his pirate ship with 2 more dubloons and 2 more planks, you can also fit an armored boat with his Pirate cannon and an Iron Wind.

You forgot to mention that Warly also gains 33% more hunger, health and sanity from eating crock pot meals. This makes items like Fish Sticks heal for a ton more, Meaty stew is just insane meat balls are even better, simple meals like a fist full of jam are actually decent, etc. He is my favorite, he isn't the best I know, but I still like him a lot. Not to mention that he has unique dishes only he can prepare.
For me the ship wreckes charavter teir list is wilbur warly woodlegs and then walani i love every thing about warly but his downside is hard to cope with other than that really fun to play

Warly doesn't necessarily have to be Caledonian, there are several Caribbean islands etc.. that were influenced heavily by the french or were french colonies etc.. Most of them still speak french today such as the 7 islands known as the "French Antilles", Haiti, Jamaica, parts of the Ivory Coast etc..

Wilbur might not be the best in SW, but I think you are really counting him short here. In RoG he is a champ. He can scout out the map in no time at all, endless birds for food thanks to poop. I really wish he was in DST to be honest. I do feel like Klei should add Wilbur and Warly to DST instead of having added Winona to it. Those two characters are at least interesting, or more interesting than Winona in my opinion.

Wilbur was essentially just a playable Prime Ape, while Webber incorporated the spider like elements into his playstyle. I've never seen Freddo express any dislike towards Webber, so I assume he doesn't hate Webber as well.

The Black Baron if you have a RoG world compatible with shipwrecked you can play as all shipwrecked characters in RoG

DST Shipwrecked would be a nightmare on the starting island. Unless they make a larger world with more islands and spawn players randomly.
