I have 2016 vrs tdi remapped and its great, i get nearly 55mpg on average and it makes 250 bhp. The petrol ones can be mapped by revo to nearly 300 bhp easily. I also have 19" wheels and eibach 30 mm lowering springs and it handles really well.

I would second that! I own a 2016 Octavia SE-L and its gone from being Boaty and Floaty in the corners to a very compentant in the corners now all thanks to the Eibach 35mm Pro Kit i got fitted a while ago

I have owned a 2011 Octavia 2.0 TDi. It had everything you ever need in a car! Great mileage, comfort, dynamics... I sold it when it had over 200 000 Km. Now looking for a Tiguan or Superb.
Octavia 4x4 must be the best all-rounder ever.

Super report although I found Adam's voice a bit unclear, like a low echo chamber. However, he did enough to convince me to go and buy a VRS on the instant!

Thanks! This helped my decision to buy a 2019 245 manual Estate last week, needed a bigger boot than my old C Class Estate but didn't want the length of the Superb, Octavia has the added bonus of being very entertaining and engaging to drive. As practical as the E Class or 9-5 Estates I had years ago without the external bulk.

Well Octavia is for 1 or 2 classes bigger then Golf. Octavia is in a middle of Passat and Jetta. Means smaller then PASSAT, bigger then Jetta. But they were know they have a small chances to competing in those classes, so they seen an opportunity in GOLF class or segment. I like Skoda, because u get a German quality in a car from Chezh Republic .

If you are going to buy one, get a 220 or 230 bhp model and get it remapped to 310bhp..... the 245 bhp one is only remappable up to about 290....... and DON'T get the 'flappy-paddle' thing as they are very expensive to repair when they fail !

I've wanted one of these for years. Now I'm in the position to get one they ruined the font. The old one looked so much nicer. I ended up ordering the Leon ST FR 190 7dsg. 2.0tsi. I'd rather of had the vrs, but them front lights have killed it.

    • @ParkersTV

@@runrabbitrunracing business lease. If I was buying cash, I'd be going 4 year old ex fleet saloon/estate car, the old vrs would of defo been in the running. Can't beat an ex fleet car, especially a saloon as its spent its life on the motorway and had proper care (as the driver wasn't paying) , and the is 1000s avalible, the majority are good cars, and saloons are usally given to older employees, rather than the fiesta clasd which is given to kids that just thrash them.
Btw, had the leaon st fr 190 now for av4 days and I like it. Qiich enough, Especally for the cold damp rapes we have had arm, and the interiors is very nice nlace too. More than happy with my choice. One issue, is the size of the fuel tank. 50litres is tiny for a car that will struggle to get 30mpg. My old laguna (ex fleet car) got 55mpg all round. And had a 75 litre, though that car was about 120bhp and 250lb ft, not fun but goild easily do 1000 motorway miles, between stops. This leon probably 500 if don't crack 80mph.

@@runrabbitrunracing I had a fabia as a company car in about 2003, I remeber to this day the dread in my stomach when I seen it. However withing ten mins of driving it, I was a total convert. Then I'd drive Southampton to newsastle often, and eve where inbeweem, and that cars only flaw wad also its fuel tank. I can't remeber what it was, but it didn't work for motorways miles. But I can't hold that against it, as it not designed to to a few 1000 miles a week.
It was about the 1.4 petrol model, found it really fun around town and in the back roads. Now if they would release anover vrs, with th 2l tsi 190bhp that's in my leon, I'd be all over that. I like a hot hatch, I'm still 16 on the inside lol. Falling apart on the outside slowly.

You can get these on pcp for around £230 a month not a bad price the 245 bhp version has horrible 19 inch wheels but a better exhaust and slip diff. Worth getting on pcp but only with no deposit down otherwise not woth it. I recommend gap insurance thats a must.

The diesel vrs is not a 4x4, that's a different model! The power trains are identical to a million other VAG vehicles, so nothing unique there, and the 184ps diesel is far from quick. It's a good car to own though, but the petrol versions now make more sense

    • @ParkersTV
