A perfect example of this as well as Peter and Gwen (in terms of James Cameron movies) is Kyle Reese and Sarah Connor from The Terminator have better chemistry than Jack and Rose from Titanic
Your comment made me realize how true that is! I believe a lot contributes to why that happens: The stakes are higher in action films, usually it’s life or death, so the romance feels more intense. There is no time for drama (unsure feelings, love triangles, lies, etc). The romance is usual locked down and secure internally, the conflict is external. Romantic scenes like these need to be written with epic lines and sweeping visuals so when one of the characters are in danger, we are rooting for the couple because their relationship was the heart/emotion of the film.
This is why I like this version of Spiderman much more than Toby Maguire/Kirsten Dunst or the new one....the chemistry between Peter and Gwen here is just perfect, sweet, adorable chemistry and he was willing to work around HER schedule and encourage her to follow her dreams rather than allowing their diverging paths to destroy their relationship. Kirsten Dunst always felt like the heroes girlfriend....just a pretty face that Spiderman CONSTANTLY had to save and the minute there was the slightest bit of tension between them, she was off to date another man. Gwen is not only very beautiful, she's smart, funny, strong and she can hold her own as a character whether Spidey is in the scene with her or she's alone. She's not a little girl needing a man to rescue her, she can save herself when the villain attacks. Toby Maguire stopped being Spiderman it was because he thought it was too hard. Andrew Garfield stopped because of Gwen's death at his enemy's hand....that's a much stronger reason.
He actually stopped because he lost his powers and couldn't fight crime anymore, and realized that his life as Spiderman hurt his personal life. But I agree that Andrew is more bealievable.
kristof gergely he stopped because he was beyond stressed with the life he lives as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man so it in turn affected his abilities. Unresolved issues between both of his identities is why his powers stopped working. It wasn't until it was solved when his powers came back

The fact that BOTH Andrew and Emma, and Tom and Zendaya were dating while filming their spider-man movies just proves how much more chemistry Andrew and Emma had. Their relationship actually felt so real, so genuine, while Tom’s and Zendaya’s was more like a high school crush. I liked how this iteration followed spidermans love interests correctly. Gwen and peter fell in love in high school, gwen dies, peter stops being spiderman, goes to college, meets Mary Jane, and mary jane convinces him to be spiderman again. I just wish they continued this story line
This really meant something in the end. Had it not been for their love for each other, Spider-Man would have died and the people of New York and possibly other cities would've been subject to the terror and fear spread by the likes of Electro and Green Goblin, not to mention that includes the possibility of many more people getting killed other than Peter because of the lack of a hero being present. Gwen's death was not unnecessary and it was not meaningless. If he left her alone, sure he would have been keeping his promise to Gwen's father, but Gwen would have lived a more lonely and depressing life as she would have surely heard of Spider-Mans death. And for those that are questioning how Spider-Man would even die, well, allow me to explain. Don't get me wrong, I have full faith in Spidey being able to overcome obstacles, but Electro is the most powerful villain he's faced thus far (in the Andrew Garfield movies), and there are also these variables to think about: 1 - He needed Gwen's help to take down Electro, he didn't do it by himself, and this was him in peak physical and emotional health, so 2 - Gwen leaving and their permanent break-up would still be on his mind, and as a result would have detrimental damage to his emotional health, further affecting his physical health as well, slowing down and lowering his fighting capabilities to a drastic level 3 - Even if he somehow, someway was able to beat Electro he would have gotten defeated by Goblin who comes right afterward and could have easily taken him out considering Peter would be in immense physical fatigue AND mentally unwell. So in the end, had they chosen solitude rather than love, then Peter would have died instead of Gwen and quite possibly many more people could have died afterward with the absence of Spider-Man as a result of his death, as well as leaving Gwen to a depressing and lonely life in another country where she doesn't know anybody and knows that the boy she loved died protecting the city just as her father did. Gwen's death was, sadly, a necessary one in order for Peter and many more people to come out alive from that unfortunate incident, so salute to her sacrifice. Thank you to whoever reads this, it means a lot to me, I just wanted to give some insight to those who believed her death meant nothing as it really does and although it honestly just makes it even sadder, at least her death was not, by any means, in vain. They both knew the risks, and she chose to die loving rather than live apart, it just goes to show how true their love was for each other...

TASM series, especially TASM 2 was, is, and will always be perfect and flawless
The music playing when they’re on the bridge is played so many times throughout this movie when Gwen and Peter are together, but in different versions. The music that plays when Peter is holding Gwen’s body in his arms is the same as in this scene, but it’s slowed down, and less hopeful. That realization breaks my heart.
I want a man who will make my heart soar and not be afraid to tell the whole world that he is in love with me and me alone. Forever. Just like Peter Parker.

Your comment made me realize how true that is! I believe a lot contributes to why that happens:
The stakes are higher in action films, usually it’s life or death, so the romance feels more intense. There is no time for drama (unsure feelings, love triangles, lies, etc). The romance is usual locked down and secure internally, the conflict is external.
Romantic scenes like these need to be written with epic lines and sweeping visuals so when one of the characters are in danger, we are rooting for the couple because their relationship was the heart/emotion of the film.

This is why I like this version of Spiderman much more than Toby Maguire/Kirsten Dunst or the new one....the chemistry between Peter and Gwen here is just perfect, sweet, adorable chemistry and he was willing to work around HER schedule and encourage her to follow her dreams rather than allowing their diverging paths to destroy their relationship. Kirsten Dunst always felt like the heroes girlfriend....just a pretty face that Spiderman CONSTANTLY had to save and the minute there was the slightest bit of tension between them, she was off to date another man. Gwen is not only very beautiful, she's smart, funny, strong and she can hold her own as a character whether Spidey is in the scene with her or she's alone. She's not a little girl needing a man to rescue her, she can save herself when the villain attacks. Toby Maguire stopped being Spiderman it was because he thought it was too hard. Andrew Garfield stopped because of Gwen's death at his enemy's hand....that's a much stronger reason.
He actually stopped because he lost his powers and couldn't fight crime anymore, and realized that his life as Spiderman hurt his personal life. But I agree that Andrew is more bealievable.
kristof gergely he stopped because he was beyond stressed with the life he lives as both Peter Parker and Spider-Man so it in turn affected his abilities. Unresolved issues between both of his identities is why his powers stopped working. It wasn't until it was solved when his powers came back

@@mahrizhossain4308 Yeah, as far as the romances go in all of the various Spider-Man films, the Peter-Gwen dynamic in the two TASM films is the best with the most chemistry and it's not even close.
I love Tasm 1&2 and don’t care what anyone says. Andrew and Emma played these characters perfectly, each of their scenes together just gets to me every time.
You can hate on this movie, but I think it’s genius. Gwen’s deaths adds so much to the movie. It shows that even the bets of hero’s can’t save everyone. It was Peter’s own decision in this moment to stay with Gwen that got her killed.

In my personal opinion, I think this is the best scene from the movie...it shows how much Peter loves Gwen and he knew all those obstacles that were between Gwen and him didn't matter once she left NY and he prefered to follow her leaving all those obstacles behind

The fact that BOTH Andrew and Emma, and Tom and Zendaya were dating while filming their spider-man movies just proves how much more chemistry Andrew and Emma had. Their relationship actually felt so real, so genuine, while Tom’s and Zendaya’s was more like a high school crush. Although I understand that Spider-Man movies aren’t about the relationships, still, watching Andrew and Emma give me butterflies every time.

This really meant something in the end. Had it not been for their love for each other, Spider-Man would have died and the people of New York and possibly other cities would've been subject to the terror and fear spread by the likes of Electro and Green Goblin, not to mention that includes the possibility of many more people getting killed other than Peter because of the lack of a hero being present. Gwen's death was not unnecessary and it was not meaningless. If he left her alone, sure he would have been keeping his promise to Gwen's father, but Gwen would have lived a more lonely and depressing life as she would have surely heard of Spider-Mans death. And for those that are questioning how Spider-Man would even die, well, allow me to explain. Don't get me wrong, I have full faith in Spidey being able to overcome obstacles, but Electro is the most powerful villain he's faced thus far (in the Andrew Garfield movies), and there are also these variables to think about:
1 - He needed Gwen's help to take down Electro, he didn't do it by himself, and this was him in peak physical and emotional health, so
2 - Gwen leaving and their permanent break-up would still be on his mind, and as a result would have detrimental damage to his emotional health, further affecting his physical health as well, slowing down and lowering his fighting capabilities to a drastic level
3 - Even if he somehow, someway was able to beat Electro he would have gotten defeated by Goblin who comes right afterward and could have easily taken him out considering Peter would be in immense physical fatigue AND mentally unwell.
So in the end, had they chosen solitude rather than love, then Peter would have died instead of Gwen and quite possibly many more people could have died afterward with the absence of Spider-Man as a result of his death, as well as leaving Gwen to a depressing and lonely life in another country where she doesn't know anybody and knows that the boy she loved died protecting the city just as her father did. Gwen's death was, sadly, a necessary one in order for Peter and many more people to come out alive from that unfortunate incident, so salute to her sacrifice. Thank you to whoever reads this, it means a lot to me, I just wanted to give some insight to those who believed her death meant nothing as it really does and although it honestly just makes it even sadder, at least her death was not, by any means, in vain. They both knew the risks, and she chose to die loving rather than live apart, it just goes to show how true their love was for each other...

and of course, the scene.... best confession one could ever make, even as spider man. TASM series, especially TASM 2 was, is, and will always be perfect and flawless
