@@murdock1187 I was in the field when a tank manned by Chem dogs killed a chaos lord with their faith and tenacity. do not doubt the guardsmen ability to oppose the ruinous powers. Look no further than the great heros the likes of Ciaphas Cain and sly marbo for what a human can do.
This is Catachan we're talking about. The Planet is the second deadliest thing in that solar system.

Oh look, it's the lesser, more cowardly and less effective support units of The Death Korps of Krieg.
The maccabian janissaries and the Mordian Iron Guard have records as respectable as the korps if memory serves me right with quantity being the two groups most limiting factor. They are the only troops besides the korps i would want holding the line for me.

The idea of a comet knocking a entire planet back 15 million miles is so absurd its kinda funny. And thats why I love 40k.
planet's orbits are less stable then most people think. that actually can happen. oc it would not be like impact and the planet is immediatly knocked back. it is a process over time (years to millennia) after the impact. it is like to desturb a pendulum or a spinner. it does not need much of an impact to change the motion of subsequent cycles in an meaningful way.
planetary migration is not uncommon but is usually caused by the gravitational influence of other planets, a single impact by a comet or asteroid could not achieve that, but in warhammer 40k it's fine :D

Hmm. What you said about Catachan makes me... concerned. That business about the forest acting like a body's immune system. Sentient, or at the very least living, planets exist in 40k, whose to say Catachan isn't one?

We also have our Vostroyan firstborn lads. But I'm unsure they even exist in the current fluff
The Tallarn and Mordians are my 3rd and 4th favorite guard regiments. Tanith First and Only are 1st and Harkoni Warhawks are my 2nd. The first 2 are mainly light specialist regiments. Then the other 2 are Desert and heavy tank specialized with both great at mechanized war.

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard of Catachans being used as recruits for any Astartes Chapter🤔. Happy to be corrected on that!
No Catachan would consent to wearing power armour. They worked hard on those abs and the world must gaze upon them.

Imagine that near one E3 a teaser appears on your TH-cam homepage, first comes some big logos one second each, Activision, Sledgehammer games, Games Workshop... then it starts with an eary boom, a dark fog, with dampened weapon blasts and explosions echoing through it companies by distant war cries of men... then comes only two titles, sliding out of the fog, in bold fonts and sandpapered metalic texture, each staying just long enough for you to clearly notice them... with enough gap between the two to build up your anticipation... first comes in silver CALL OF DUTY... then it fades and in few seconds a new one appears in gold THE EMPEROR PROTECTS... how would you fell when that teaser is over? 🙃

It is often amazing to me that my favourite heroes of the emperium are those of the guard be it from the vast jungles of catachan to the gates of cadia.

A lasgun has the power to blow a person's limbs clean off, yet it's considered the weakest weapon in 40k lol

@Wazaag Break-head well as with any universe everything conflicts itself but I don’t remember where but an introduction to a lasgun said it had something around the force of a 50cal which will most certainly take a arm off
@Wazaag Break-head yes a 50 cal actually will rip your arm off it will do far more look up a 50 cal strike on TH-cam or the internet. A 50 cal bullet will easily take a arm off. Lasguns are contradicted as guardsmen have varying levels of success depending on whose perspective the book is written from and which author. Sometimes space marines shrug las fire off like nothing but when gaunts ghosts are shooting chaos marines fall relatively quickly. If the book is about guardsmen lasguns are generally effective if it is written about others lasguns are pea shooters.
@Wazaag Break-head Yes a 50. cal totally can. That bullet has anti armor applications for a reason.
@Wazaag Break-head A .50 will blow a man in half from the waist. The Geneva convention even dictates that it shouldn't be deliberately used against personnel. A lasgun beam when striking unprotected flesh will cause the moisture to rapidly evaporate and explode into steam, giving it the capacity to rend off limbs.
