Toyota and Lexus could come out with an entire retro division. Make it the big deal they hoped Scion would be. Make the buying experience awesome and just kick back and enjoy the sales. Maybe call it ToyUs?

Great truck and I love mine. When looking to buy one, make sure you are able to buy an extended warranty with it and that will depend on how high the mileage is. If you can buy an extended warranty with it,it is very cheap worth the extra cost.
Prices for pretty much anything cool are nuts right now...and maybe forever. I think if you can find one with low miles, it's worth putting away as an investment. Personally, I like the idea of getting a good one with decent miles and driving it like it was built for, but I look at FJ Cruisers as being approximately as collectible as a Honda S2000 as far as potential future value
I just got a 2008 with 120k for 18k. It has some mods done to it. I Absolutely love the FJ! the carfax shows that it spent a good part of its life in Honolulu. I picked it up in Virginia.
Just got my ‘07, 6 speed manual; which was hiding in the cut in MD. 142k, and a 7 page Carfax. Looks like it was a lease for part of its life. Few bumps and bruises, scratches, etc; but who of us aren’t bumped and bruised. My mechanic was surprised it was even on it was so quiet. I’m afraid to love it yet, because it might decide to break up with me. Under $18; but with all taxes, title fees. Everything. She bad.

@@everycarSeattle Yes, Sir it is. We moved here back in 08 after Aloha Airlines closed and a few times last year we questioned on moving back with my parents or the wife's parents. But, we're going to keep on trucking on this Island as the aviation industry continues to improve. Stay well, safe, and blessed, Sir😇
John's right Adrian, but you periodically see those exterior tumblers get replaced as the years go by - so don't be surprised if one you are looking at uses a 2nd key
I love Voodoo blue. I think that was the color of the original show car. 16 grand if it drives nice is actually a decent buy from this perspective - At 260,000 miles it's worth 8 - 11 grand for sure. Worst case scenario, you drive an awesome truck for 100,000 miles and it costs you 8 grand net. Compared to anything else, it's the bargain of the century. Any new SUV depreciates more than that on the drive home from the dealership.
@@everycarSeattle when I first drove the FJ from the dealer for a test drive, it was hard to believe that it had 174k miles on. The ride was and is comfortable. The throttle is very responsive also. I floored it and left others behind. For the weight it has, it’s pretty quick I would say.
In, Cali my sister has a 2007 with under 90k miles. Has done every check up on schedule. It's 4x4, but doesn't have rear lock differential, ATRAC. It is in pristine condition cosmetic wise, because my sister is crazy like that. And not too long ago, got it wrapped Army green, and rhino dipped all the bumpers. She's offering to sell it to me, but I'm trying to figure out what to offer her. I'm not super into rock climbing, but do snowboard and do a lot of camping, where I climb more controlled dirt roads. Any thoughts on what would be a reasonable price, given the year, and with not having some of those major 4x4 extras?
for your usage imo it would be amazing. Even without lockers as long as its 4wd. The model year is fine but in that year there are some frame rust issues, so check for that. If it's clean, I don't think you can go wrong with it.
Hey Man, could you try and make a comparable video between the 8 series gran coupe and the 5 series? AFAIK they are based on the same platform and share the same engine/transmission so i would like to know the differences between them. Is it more interior related, performance oriented...?

Hello Joe, I have a question about car buying advice and wanted to ask for an email to send my question to because it is pretty long. Can you please help me out? Thanks!
4th gen 4runner is identical and can get for way cheaper. but even those are going up in price because people realize that the 4th gen 4runner lexus gx470 and fj are identical platform. 4runner looks way better and has full 4 doors. cheapest fj i could find at the time was 15k and purple. my 4th gen was half that cost. 4runner also has v8 option.
Well,

Love it's a 2-Door SUV. One of Toyota's better offerings that actually looks good with its simplicity of design.
Man, that’s a pretty good price. Over here, a fj with 200k miles min is selling on avg of $20k. Anything around the 100k mark is $30-45k
Where is “over here”?
