edgarjx1 no because of fiat garbage ( wrangler) they face real fears of that Fj cruiser longevity and top reliability and pushing the ( US products first) idea !!
I used to brag about that, i made 5 years with people saying they break every year. Then got a massive stone chip. Put up with it then copped a big stone from a passing truck. Shattered it. Our friends have had about 5 so far but theirs is a year older.
Lol gone through a few on my 07. In my opinion, besides the lower control arm camber bolts seizing to the arms, the windshield is the biggest downfall to the fj
I've had mine since 2006. I've only done oil changes, swapped out the tires 3 times and the spark plugs twice. It has over 190k miles on it - mostly on trails and the thing still looks damn new after a wash. I am now a strong believer in the Toyota quality mantra.
My dad bought an auto 2011 fj cruiser new. One of the last off the boat that wasn’t irradiated from the tsunami that year. My family’s only car for 8 years. Moved across the country 3 times, towing everything we had. Gave it to me as my first car a couple months ago. Incredible machine. 138,000 some miles. It’s been off road a lot, when doing research on a bison heard it got rubbed on by bison, leaving some marks that really tell a story. Been through mountains, plains and everything in between. Still fully stock. No repairs needed. Only damage is some cosmetic from use over the years. I’m gonna keep it in the family forever.
Happy Car Reviews thanks! I really appreciate that! I was a bit nervous about it and it was a bit of a rush job, my editing skills were rusty and I had audio issues initially so did had to do a last min VO to make the deadline. Scotty made a few good edits to it as well.
I just got an Fj today. It is a 08 model, 104 k miles. I love this thing. Hoping, with a lot Of confidence, that it will last several years with us. Thank God.
Mark_Man it has been great having it. Although, i am considering servicing the breaks before i have a bad experience, it is begining to make a particular noise from the master break cylinder. I have read in a few threats from Fj cruiser forums, that it is a common issue, and an expensive one. Maybe you should have it in consideration in the total amount of purchase
Have an FJ that I was lucky to buy with only 28,600 miles. So far it's my best car purchase. I love the fact that I can work on the vehicle myself, and it has plenty of clearance to crawl under to change the oil. This SUV is a tank, it had lots of power and has never got me stuck even in 2wd.
@733Rafael there have been 56 episodes of hyperinflation since the start of the 20th century. They can be divided into 3 major groups war or it's aftermath, the collapse of the Soviet Union, developing countries. Most were very short term, all took place while other countries currency remained stable. You are predicting 60,000% inflation for most of the world, something that has never happened. If you truly believe that stock up on tinfoil now, your hats are going to cost $10,000 soon. But please don't tell me you are buying overpriced gold or freeze dried food from the same people that convinced you the world economy is going to crash, they are playing on the fear they created. Save this video so you can check back in 6 months and tell me you were right.
I actually test drove a FJ I liked it a lot except poor visibility through the rear window. This vehicle would benefit from a backup camera. Other wise it's great for off road fun.
I always watched this cruiser everywhere and I really like the Beach style design that it gives It just screams "Let's Go To The Beach!" It is also large and compact, very balanced for a off road cruiser For me Toyota nailed this cruiser design
@@coiledsteel8344 and if you were a male driver under 30 driving a red vehicle, do you not know that you are a cop magnet? I guess red is a great color to have when you roll that thing down a mountain and someone has to find you
I’m 21 and have this exact same car with 55000miles and I’ve had it for 2 years and never been pulled over and trust me I don’t look that innocent FJ CRUISERS DONT GET PULLED OVER AT ALL
I bought a 2010 in 2010 and still have it. 80,000 miles, no accidents, and dealer serviced since new. I've gotten some pretty solid offers for it. Haven't taken one yet! Great truck.
Come here to the Philippines. You can get one for less than $20k with very low mileage. The reason why FJ owners here are selling them like mad is because of its gas consumption. Gas prices in this part of the world is insane.
Just bought an fj December 2018, and love it. These are becoming collectors, and value is going up. I plan on keeping this one around, until I can't drive anymore. Very fun to drive, and awesome off road capability.
I have 3 kids and it's perfect for family! me and my wife in front, kids in back, I'm not worried that they will open doors or tilt down windows while driving. Also raw plastic interior fits perfectly as I'm not worried if my kids will scratch anything inside. When I'm driving it I feel comfort and cool + super practical for family, perfect combination.
I got divorced and I can pretty say it is perfect for single man too 😅 I feep cool and attract attention of girls while driving Previously I was not even noticing it 🤘
Just got an extremely nice Army Green 2010. It's a really solid driving feel. Very well appointed option wise. It's even a decent highway ride with aggressive tires. MPG is OK for the ruggedness of this thing. Planning on using it as a daily driver and a bit of car camping.
I was happy with mine. Great in the snow, towing. I opened the exhaust to three inch and modified the air intake. Highway mileage was boosted to 20 mpg at 75mph. Nice full frame truck.
I absolutely LOVE my FJ! It’s a 2013, bought it used in 2015 with 32k on the odometer. I pull a small fiberglass travel trailer which it handles easily. It never gives me problems and I am never worried when going off-road. It’s a serious 4x4 that can hold its own. It’s not a Trail Teams (I’d love if it was), but with its options it’s not far off from a Trail Teams. I plan on keeping it for many years to come. Not unhappy at all with it!
my best friends aunt got this car right when they came out and ive wanted one ever since i first saw hers in 2008, something about this car captivates me every time I see one drive by, cant wait to own an FJ one day when I can afford a good one❤️
Owned one for 3 1/2 years. Never cracked my windshield. And I hauled friends all the time and they never complained or were uncomfortable. I raced so many cars/trucks for fun and won most of them. I had a 6speed manual and knew how to launch it right :p I also crossed high waters many times during harvey to rescue friends and family. It can go up to 30 inches not 20. Stock. Went off roading many times too and never failed on me. I miss this truck so much, I will have to turn around and get another one. I got it at 100k miles and lost it at 155k. Over engineered machine.
I feel like its also good money for an auto glass business, the rake of the windshield is so minor that thing catches rocks like baseball mit. Keep your distance on the highway...
I've had my FJ 2 months now and love it!!! They are great vehicles and I knew it was the right time to finally pull the trigger on one. One owner and all maintenance done at the dealership. By the condition mine was in it looked like nobody besides a driver was ever in it. Hoping to get it on the trails soon!
Don Cannady yeah I was really lucky almost lost it to a guy in Kentucky I called 5 mins after it was posted. Thankfully he didn’t want to pay to have it shipped.
Paul Carmi you probably have to upgrade the engine before being capable of doing burnouts. Haha. My xterra pro-4x is RWD and it can barley do one. Lol.
A- Negative great purchase! I would like to test it out on a trail against my pro-4x xterra :) open invitation if your ever in California. Mines a reddish orange color too!
I purchased my FJ in 2007. With over 210,000 miles; five years as a daily driver and seven years as a retirement ride, it remains my all time favorite vehicle. The FJ has been the perfect option for us exploring 35 National Parks. We have a roof top tent that pops up and a slider that holds a fridge and all of our camping equipment. Looking forward to visiting more National Parks and the next 100,000 miles of fun.
I got the last showroom white one in Australia 2017 (build August 2016). This car is amazing, hovercraft smooth and very quick for its type! It'll never see dirt, but now I can get up my driveway.
Well done video! Thanks! I Wish car manufacturers today would wake up to the fact that many consumers want simple, reliable vehicles. we don’t want complicated, unreliable “space ships” on wheels packed full of unneeded and unwanted electronic gimmicks just waiting to fail and cost thousands to repair.
I bought my FJ in 2010 new. Never selling it. I've bought another car since, and I just got me a Tundra. But I am always keeping my FJ. It's seriously the coolest SUV out there.
My wife and I have a 2007 fj as a daily with 3 kids. We love it. We bought it 8 years ago! The most reliable vehicle I have owned. I have only needed to replace an alternator in 8 years of owning it. Yesterday we were t boned in it and we walked away safe. If it gets written off I will be buying another one!
Best reliable SUV in my opinion, I never owned one but I’ve been in one, feels like a tank and it’s cool how it has 3 windshield wipers. I’m 22 years old and drive a 03 CRV so my insurance is still high. FJ will be my next SUV!!!
I’ve been an Fj owner for years and love both of mine. A manual transmission is not a rare feature and I resent what you said about the roof rack. It’s been very useful. I’ve mounted all kinds of things to it including shovel and ax mounts, a hi-lift jack, lights, all kinds of gear and a rooftop tent. I can go on and on and I assure you the rack is very useful. Also you don’t Fjord water crossings, you ford them. The traction control off switch, the A-Track switch, the rear differential lock and the inverter were all options on the Fj. I also have rear back up sensors and a corresponding switch to turn it on and off on both of my Fj’s. One of them also has a back up camera. I have not found the rear visibility to be an issue at all. All you have to do is learn to use your mirrors. Another thing, I have never heard of a factory Sat/Nav installed in the driver glovebox from Toyota. I’ve seen a couple owner mod’s but not factory. I like the fact that these things were built In japan. The quality of the fj is really good. I’m happy you like your “new” Fj and as time goes on you will become more familiar with it. Enjoy. One more thing for you IFS haters out there. IFS is a perfectly capable system and far more capable then some of you have misled. I own a solid axel Jeep as well and can speak from experience. It all depends on what you are using your off road vehicle for and the kinds of conditions you will be encountering. Cheers!
I have a 2013 TT. It was the best auto purchase I've ever made. I live in Salt Lake and it's been a god send in the winters here. It absolutely destroys everything in its path. It sucks on MPG but other than that I love it in every way:)
I rented one of these. Not impressed. I’m a normal city driver like 98% of drivers. Who fjords a river and climbs mountains with their vehicle? Not me. Not very good looking either. Couldn’t wait to turn it in.
I bought my '07 FJ when it first came out. It has 165k miles and counting. Side mirrors visibility are limited, but it can be easily corrected with a mini mirror attached. Not so much with spare tire on the back. Been in 3 accidents all 3 were caused by the other driver. The last accident was a head on collision and still here to tell. Safety for my family is the only reason I'm keeping my FJ until the wheels fall off or Toyota reproduce the them.🙏
I sold mine too, it's really because I had no choice. I bought the car new in Florida in 2006, shipped to Africa and drove it from Jan 2007 to Jan 2020; never thought of changing it, never wished I had another car, I just plain loved it. It was comfortable, reliable, different, highly capable off-road (never got stuck, even on the beach when pulling boats out of the water). The only maintenance I ever did was the basic oil and filter changes, brake pads and one belt that got eaten by mud (I figured no maintenance is better than bad maintenance, bad mechanics in those places can be car killers). I finally managed to do a good service as the transmission was a bit bumpy, and I had to sell it; after oil change and lubrication, it was as good as anew again. Leaving Africa for Indonesia, I finally sold it in January (LH drive vs RH drive, no import of used cars allowed into Indonesia); I figured, I'll just buy another one. Tough luck, when I arrived, I found out that they sell for $80,000 and up!!!! There is no way I am going to pay this kind of money for an FJ (I paid $28,600 for mine in 2006). This is a brief summary of my love story with my FJ.... it was a blue one.
Sold mine too.. at the time gas was still $3.50/gallon and I was driving all across the country for work, gas was killing me. I paid $35k for it new in 2010, sold it in 2015 with 85k miles back to the dealership for $25k. I knew it was going to appreciate but even if it didn't, I miss it. It was part of my soul... so many amazing places I took that thing. I don't just want 'a' FJ, I want to find that exact one. I don't care if it has 400,000 miles and it's completely trashed. It was my baby for 5 years.
My 2010 FJ Crusier is plenty roomie in the back seats, and the suicide doors make entry really easy. You just have to be able to use the mirrors as rearward vision is not very good. The V6 engine is smooth and powerful, and we love to travel in it as the ride quality is wonderful. We love our 2010 FJ Crusier. Just buy a large wireless camera and have a big monitor. Costco has a nice big wireless backup camera now for 137 dollars.
Seriously, Toyota should make a new model with ready-made gun mounts for the Middle East called the "Terrorist" and for Afghanistan call it the "Taliban." You can't beat the alliteration.
I have a 2007 ...Great vehicle!!No issues what so ever. Best feature that i enjoy the most of ny FJ..? Its payd for! 👊😁.Working on upgrades and planing to keep it for a very long time...162k and running like a 🏆 champ. 👊😎.
I bought a 2007 FJ and it is still my daily driver. It wears a TRD supercharger with headers and snorkel intake. Rides on Old Man Emu suspension. Runs like a champ tank and I expect it will last longer than me!
I bought the 2012 Trail Teams new. I still have it and love it. Right now in 2021 I’m only at the 12,500 mile mark and have garage kept it since new. It’s a beauty.
Heck I work as a Toyota dealer mechanic and they rarely come in. The last time we had one for service was 5 months ago and the last time I’ve physically seen one was 2 weeks ago that got traded in for a Tundra. It had 200,000 clocked but it was such in good shape and because it’s rare they decided to sell it. Normally high mileage cars regardless if it’s an in demand Camry in decent shape or some crappy GM car, gets booted to auction.
Dreaming On Melrose Street Better not give it to them lol. I think they’re future classics. Even by Toyota standards the value is pretty good. I always wanted one because it’s a cool vehicle but I’m not an off-road junky and I do mostly highway driving so it doesn’t suit me.
Matthias H I had trouble getting one, took about 2 months to find a good one-the good ones were overpriced or they were gone before I could get to them. The dealers say the average time on lot is 3 days for a good one. I had to buy this one sight unseen, and have it driven down to me or I would have lost it on day 1. Because of 10k I wasn’t worried. The ford dealership I got it at up north had never had one they underpriced it by a fair bit cause they didn’t know what they had. They figured it out because everyone started calling from all over the US apparently but I already committed.
The floor board that the 05-07 Jeep Grand Cherokee should've used. Damn those Jeeps hold water in the floor board. Rev up you broken 05-07 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
@@leadfarmer8773 uh , no, it STOMPS the rubicon, which I also own. I have a 2010 Ruby and a 2007 FJ. I love the FJ because it's alot more reliable. Off road, the 2 are equal in most cases. Some areas the FJ is better and some the Ruby.
@HexagramMan biggest area from what I have found (I have both) is reliability. Even the parts on the FJ last alot longer. I don't know about the new Rubicons but mine is built in the states. I am not sure where they make them now, hopefully not at that fucked up fiat factory where all the other jeeps/ fiats are produced.
I bought mine because of this video, A 2007 with 120,000 miles, So far a year and a half later... Best car I ever bought, Durable, reliable, Great looking and functional. Thanks for the inspiration.
They should have some with a straight axle option. Dont know why Toyota doesn't offer it here as an option, and other countries they do. But it's no biggy, still does everything I need it for.
Overpriced is a great description for a new jeep. Absolutley. Ive been driving jeeps for forty years, cause they WERE cheap and i need 4wd. 1 of my best was $400 Now thier expensive and realiability is more questionable than ever. My favorite 4x ever owned. My 1980 sr4 toy truck. Got that dirt cheap too. Stripped the rotten bed off and put a really good looking flat bead made out of tounge and groove boad, wish i still had it. Broke the frame
@@doranvee5944 the Tacoma as long as it has its reliability it will be sold the fj just couldn't compete with jeep look wise because it was still a great car
Harrison Edgar I own Both! On the Jeep you can take the doors off including the top! Jeep having a font disconnect and front & back solid axles including lockers the Jeep is a better off road vehicle. I own both so I know how they perform in off road situations.
The fj concept was actually shown in 2003 not 2007, but yes in Detroit. Then after the reception of it. It was given 2 to 3 years to produce. This giving birth to the 2007s made in 2006. Voodoo blue being the concept and giving birth to the most sought after FJC, the 2007 voodoo blue with the TRD package. Great video, keep them going. !!!
curious people are always wanting to look inside my car, too. well, mostly heroin addicts but i don't leave any valuables in plain sight so they usually keep moving.
I've got a 2014 FJ auto (my 1st Toyota) with about 115k on it now. First owner put between 30-33k miles on it the first 3 years of owning it. Price was right so I bought it last fall with 107k miles. It still had the original brakes which was the first thing I changed. Other than that he didn't have any issues with it. I eventually went through and changed all fluids and spark plugs for peace of mind. But I sure do love the aura of Toyota reliability. I'd recommend the FJ to anyone. It rides awesome.
Toyota introduced the TRD Special with the 2007 model. Black over black, TRD goodies throughout and I have the first one that was sold in California. 208,000+ miles so far.
maaannnn.... Toyota always make a good product...simple excellent engineering...i judge a car maker by how many i see on the side of the road and how easy to keep maintenance on the vehicle...
This is odd! My wife saw an FJ for sale today. She says “ I bet that would be a neat car to own!”. Now Scotty Kilmer has a video the same day! Hmmmm......
My wife and I traveled to NZ for a backpacking trip last summer. These and land cruisers were literally everywhere. Such a sick looking beast of get anywhere vehicle. I’d love to get one someday.
Interesting how a vehicle 'so good' has it's production cancelled. Short rear doors have the benefits of being easier to use in the city car parks. As for rear access, slide the front seats forward? Why didn't Toyota just make a 'better'/alternate version?
Because the "not boring" Toyotas are always so darn expensive new they tend to sell in moderate volume. Even the great ones like Supra, Celica All-trac, IS300, MR2 turbo and SC400. I waited 10 years til I could afford a used SC400 in 2002. Look how now, there are so few 5spd IS300s left that their prices are getting crazy. Anyway, I'm not really a truck guy but FJs and old Land Cruisers are very cool.
For Colorado it's perfect. I love manual, unless you use it everyday, rough roads, dangerous spots are not the place to try to remember how to use it. For L.A. highway daily driving, no. The prices are a bit high for me. Hope I find one at a good price!
@@sebastianasian you do realize the majority of the world drives manuals in big crowded cities... UK for example. And they aren't complaining about it.
JAMES M ... It came across as his results from driving it. Granted, he could be quoting a statistic from Toyota, using idealized numbers. I did think it was funny when he gave the horsepower number preceded by the word "about" and then didn't round up to 240.
I drove one. Loved it. Best offroader I ever drove. Nobody I know will ever sell their FJ. This is perhaps the last of its kind: where function is over form. No luxury, but great utility. And, Toyota means reliability, assuming the driver does not abuse/trash the vehicle. Virtually every part can be maintained/replaced. Except body panels, so treat any rust immediately.
Jacob Shreve I hear ya I’m from Detroit. Trust me. They stopped spending on roads here decades ago. Most around me are the original Portland cement stamped 1929.
Brian Onuscheck i don’t think so be as until this day it still being on sale on dealerships and also it’s fast moving car and they use it as police car also on KSA
What i remeber is that a lot of people hated the looks, but now that its aged well (imo), people are gaining interest in them (with how much newer toyota trucks are going for).
Nice. I'm looking into picking up an fj soon, I currently drive a 91 Toyota pickup 4x4 that I've wheeled all over Colorado and Utah, not really a fan of Tacoma's or newer 4runners, but the fj cruiser catches my eye, good looks, awesome capability and that legendary Toyota reliability! I cant wait
Great vid makes me appreciate mine even more! I do have a correction for you...the concept FJ came out at the 2003 Chicago auto show. I know cuz I was there! I’ve got a 2008 with the 6 speed manual and it’s awesome.
Engine, transmission drivetrain (Rear drive shaft shortened) and suspension is basically a 4runner. 100% made in Japan so expect higher quality and durability compared to US made Toyota’s. Love the rear locker! Wish list: V8 engine, rigid front axle with lockers (like the Landcruisers or 70 series in production), maybe a diesel naturally aspirated engine. Make a winch standard!
I Have This Car From 2007 And Now Its 2019 And With The Bad Petroleum In My Country Its Still Good And Soft Engine And Strong And Very Good In Our Bad Streets i Love This Car ❤️ Sorry For My Bad English
It's great to see a fellow SoCal native thoroughly enjoying a vehicle like this. Seems like everyone wants a sleek imported sports car out here but honestly the poorly maintained roads in LA county tear them up and I feel so much more secure and comfortable in a more rugged vehicle.
My lease for my Toyota rav 4 is up next July and I’m trying so hard to save up for one!! I want to buy one and use it till it literally stops working. I’m a college student so buying a used one is going to be very difficult
Ryan if you ever think of upgrading to a newer fj and want your fj to go to a good home let me know. I want one so bad but I want one that has been loved. Lol
i have a 08 with 32k on the clock. totally stock except tires. Great unique vehicle. The Martin Logon full roof speaker and sub are great. Always starts and gets looks. Great Toyota product.
at 7:34 he mentions the hp output but he actually states the hp for the 07-09 model years, while the 2010 was rated at 259hp and the 11-14 with 260hp. with his being the red TTSE (2012) that would be 260hp
Best one yet!😍 FYI FJ Cruiser still being sold in Dubai brand new, the middle Easter market still selling a lot of them, guess it's just because the are the best on the dunes.
I had a 1995 4Runner, manual. Official UK import petrol (gas) engine. The last year Toyota UK officially imported them. You can see 3rd gens on the road. All direct Japanese imports and all diesels. I have seen one 4th gen V8. Very rare here. Never seen a 5th gen here, yet. I had to get rid of mine when the chassis rusted out.
@@zokay1121 ive still got my 1990 hilux (4runner) ... rust being the only problem ... spent about $1000 on engine in last 10 years. tbf, hilux was our no.1 sellling vehicle for over 25 years, so theres heaps of em around
@@PewPewPark Just saw a few 3rd gens on eBay here. Hilux Surf diesel Japanese imports. Not cheap. There is one 4th gen 2.7 fresh import from Japan. They are asking £9,995! For a 2005 model. They definitely hold their value.
I have owned my 2007 TRD since November 20, 2006. 200K miles of thrills, chills, and belly busters. Third windshield, tho. It spends at least 1 day a week in 4WD at work, My favorite car.

Scotty Kilmer Scotty but those FJ’s are absolutely hideous
Hey Scotty I have a question do subwoofers reduce the value of your car or does it increase it? I’ve been researching and I can’t find a sure answer.
Happy mother's day Scotty 😁

I’m gonna keep it in the family forever.
my car was rubbed by a bison driving a 2009 Nissan Altima with no insurance / =
That’s awesome story of a car
Oh so it doesn't it glow in the dark? Pity really, Cesium-137 glow sure beats Toyota Beige!
My brother had one, great car, but the mpg was terrible!
Don't ever get rid of it. Keep it forever. There will never be cars like this again. Ever.
More than show off, this guy gave us a great FJ Cruiser history lesson!
Well done Bro!
Happy Car Reviews thanks! I really appreciate that! I was a bit nervous about it and it was a bit of a rush job, my editing skills were rusty and I had audio issues initially so did had to do a last min VO to make the deadline. Scotty made a few good edits to it as well.

With just 104k, it should last you more than a few years. Congrats on your purchase!
Zachary Morris I really love this thing. I hope it lasts long time
Any update? Looking one for my daughter.
This SUV is a tank, it had lots of power and has never got me stuck even in 2wd.
how much did you pay for it? that's really low miles
@@remote3652 if I recall correctly $11k, and rebuild cost $2k. Don't have the vehicle anymore but it fun to drive for sure.

@@craigmartin4955 that was a joke Craig, but inflation is not going to affect car prices in a day. This isn't Venezuela.
@733Rafael unlikely
I actually test drove a FJ I liked it a lot except poor visibility through the rear window. This vehicle would benefit from a backup camera.
Other wise it's great for off road fun.

Major blind spots over the shoulder too. Terrible for serious off roading. You Can barely look out the window.

I always watched this cruiser everywhere and I really like the Beach style design that it gives
It just screams "Let's Go To The Beach!"
It is also large and compact, very balanced for a off road cruiser
For me Toyota nailed this cruiser design
Does the top come off on the beach? Oh hell no! How many people can you get in that thing only two and two dogs. Not a lot of fun to me
Red color also "screams" to be easilly noticed, and stolen by thieves - who also know the "demand" for these valuable Toyotas!

Prices used are insane? There are no new ones. Their prices are insane is good enough
Indeed it is expensive used one.

I got divorced and I can pretty say it is perfect for single man too 😅 I feep cool and attract attention of girls while driving
Previously I was not even noticing it 🤘
Thanks I was hoping for a comment from a family... thinking of getting one over a 4runner
Just got an extremely nice Army Green 2010. It's a really solid driving feel. Very well appointed option wise. It's even a decent highway ride with aggressive tires. MPG is OK for the ruggedness of this thing. Planning on using it as a daily driver and a bit of car camping.
Hows it been going with the fj? How was car camping?
Finally someone noticing this amazing car
Agreed, I love it.
Would like to get one one day. Possibly a manual transmission
I also have a 2013 FJ who I bought brand new at the dealership. Always being asked if I want to sell it. No way. Love this vehicle.❤

I love my FJ, best kind of car for someone who does a lot of adventuring and driving
Owned one for 3 1/2 years. Never cracked my windshield. And I hauled friends all the time and they never complained or were uncomfortable. I raced so many cars/trucks for fun and won most of them. I had a 6speed manual and knew how to launch it right :p
I also crossed high waters many times during harvey to rescue friends and family. It can go up to 30 inches not 20. Stock. Went off roading many times too and never failed on me. I miss this truck so much, I will have to turn around and get another one. I got it at 100k miles and lost it at 155k. Over engineered machine.
i do auto glass for a living and the fj windshield replacement especially the top mounding is a tough job.
I feel like its also good money for an auto glass business, the rake of the windshield is so minor that thing catches rocks like baseball mit. Keep your distance on the highway...
The Weak unibody construction flexes so bad while off-roading, that it cracks the windows. Poorly designed vehicle.
Wow, 10k mileage, what a find.

Great video.
Proud owner of a 2011 (Army Green) Trails Team Ed., which had 22K miles back in 2013.
Extremely happy with the FJ, it's a keeper!
I hate SUVs, but I like this one. I'm jealous.
I'm even more jealous of someone who is so well-spoken. I bet he's a real nice guy, too.

I have a 2007 blue FJ. Definitely a 10/10 vehicle in my books.

Safety for my family is the only reason I'm keeping my FJ until the wheels fall off or Toyota reproduce the them.🙏
3 accidents and ur still using it?
I sold mine a few years back. It’s the one vehicle I really regret selling.
Why you sold it?
My 2008 is the best vehicle I've ever owned. I've had it off roading so many times and it so solid, dependable and holds it's value.
In my country in middle East this car is popular they use it in the desert and they love it
with machine guns mounted to it?
Seriously, Toyota should make a new model with ready-made gun mounts for the Middle East called the "Terrorist" and for Afghanistan call it the "Taliban." You can't beat the alliteration.

I bought the 2012 Trail Teams new. I still have it and love it. Right now in 2021 I’m only at the 12,500 mile mark and have garage kept it since new. It’s a beauty.
I work as a tow truck driver. Never in my life have I seen one in any dealership including Toyota!
I've never seen one do anything but mall crawling though either.
Matthias H that’s explains it. Every time take mine for oil change they send a letter wanting to buy it.

It still had the original brakes which was the first thing I changed. Other than that he didn't have any issues with it. I eventually went through and changed all fluids and spark plugs for peace of mind. But I sure do love the aura of Toyota reliability. I'd recommend the FJ to anyone. It rides awesome.

He told us what fuel mileage he gets with it. Considering the alternatives, it's not bad.
@@JW...-oj5iw that's not actual real world mileage he mentioned.
Except body panels, so treat any rust immediately.
yep have 360,000 km on my fj and still going strong. Besides reg maintenance all i have done is an alternator and 1 rear axle seal.
“Terribly maintained LA roads” lol, come to the Midwest or northeast 😂
Jacob Shreve I hear ya I’m from Detroit. Trust me. They stopped spending on roads here decades ago. Most around me are the original Portland cement stamped 1929.
we pay double what people pay in gas for NICE roads but they never come
I'm from New Orleans and you need a humvee to get around
شوفوا شوارع تبوك ولا الرياض راح تشيب قلوبكم منها
come to Wilmington North Carolina where a tourist town that gets repeatedly hit by hurricanes in our administration is too lazy to do anything.
one of the coolest cars ever made, congrats
we still have in Saudi Arabia as 2019 model
yeah i bought myself one about a month ago
dosri Toyota suspended production in 2017. They must be selling unsold units.
يا دوسري الموديل عندهم يعني النوع او الصنف مو مثل عندنا الموديل يعني تاريخ صنع السياره
Brian Onuscheck i don’t think so be as until this day it still being on sale on dealerships and also it’s fast moving car and they use it as police car also on KSA
@SafeSpace Post,we cant speak of anything without someone like you wrecking the foundation of the thread,GREAT JOB
I second the suggested V8!
I Have This Car From 2007 And Now Its 2019 And With The Bad Petroleum In My Country Its Still Good And Soft Engine And Strong And Very Good In Our Bad Streets
i Love This Car ❤️ Sorry For My Bad English
No it is much better than I speak your language! What country do you live in?
Nicholas Clinesmith Thank You - I’m From Iraq Baghdad
:) seems like an FJ would be fun in the desert! have you taken it out?
Nicholas Clinesmith Yes With Friends In Holiday
It's great to see a fellow SoCal native thoroughly enjoying a vehicle like this. Seems like everyone wants a sleek imported sports car out here but honestly the poorly maintained roads in LA county tear them up and I feel so much more secure and comfortable in a more rugged vehicle.
Just today bought a 08 FJ with 177,000 Miles. cause of this video Thank you so much.. It's a Toyota Hummer..lol Great buy👍👍
I always love these Cruisers. They remind me of a tonka toy, or something Godzilla would snack on.
I love this car; I’ve been interested in this car since I first saw it and finally got one months ago💯
Does it worth the money ?
Arshad Arshad it’s the definitely worthwhile!! I just got one 3 months ago !!! A trail team edition btw!!
My lease for my Toyota rav 4 is up next July and I’m trying so hard to save up for one!! I want to buy one and use it till it literally stops working. I’m a college student so buying a used one is going to be very difficult
Almost thought of selling mine, glad I talked myself out of that!!
same here. that's also why I try to keep the miles very low
@@buzzydj howmany miles does your cruiser have?
Ryan if you ever think of upgrading to a newer fj and want your fj to go to a good home let me know. I want one so bad but I want one that has been loved. Lol
@@bimbi1946 send me your email so I have it
i have a 08 with 32k on the clock. totally stock except tires.
This is actually a great owner review. Look how far they went and the shots they took to get the footage.
Still driving my 2004 4 runner every day. Best purchase ever.
Was daily driving my 1989 4 runner, until I sold it.
Just picked up a 1997 4runner. I love it so far.
I’ve had my VooDoo Blue since 2007! I absolutely love it and will never get rid of it.
Same with me 2007 VooDoo Blue w/ white top purchased new in 2007
