It's harder to get a sack as a defensive tackle because alot of times you get doubled by the guard and center plus the QB sees you coming up the middle it's easire for a end becuase unless there is a tightend or a running back you usually just have to deal with the tackle plus alot of ends are more slender and have alot more speed then say power plus man you can hit the QB from a blind spot but it's not impossible it's just a bigger challenge but i understand what sapp is saying but i give credit to the top defensive tackles

It's tough. Prime Sapp was a monster pass rusher up the middle.i agree with others an elite pass rusher up the middle is more dangerous than a DE. Strahan is the better overall defensive player. Strahan could rush the passer but was great on the run and had multiple ways to get to the QB. You also cant teach a coachble 6 5 270 43 DE who could play both ends and even transition to a 3 4 OLB if needed.
People are noting they play different positions but playing 3 tech DT is easier than playing Left End. A 3 tech DT plays outside shoulder of a slow footed Guard and sees no double team. A Left End doesnt play blindside unless its a left handed QB. A Left End like Strahan can be easily be doubled by tight end because thats the strong side. Strahan faced many double teams and chips from running backs. Strahan also was a beast in stopping the run... Teams would use their right tackle and multiple tight end sets to try to seal off Strahan but it didnt work. Sapp was overrated...a 3 tech DT plays against weak Guards and dont face double teams because they outside shade the guard. Nose Tackle and Left End toughest positions on Dline.
It's the old DT vs DE thing: DE's always contend that if they didn't eat up blocks then DE's couldn't get to QBs and to an extent they are right. BUT Strahan is HOF-er, he is not the best DE I have seen (ex. Deacon Jones was much better) but he belongs. Sapp is 1 of the best all time at his position: these 2 should just chill.

It's harder to get a sack as a defensive tackle because alot of times you get doubled by the guard and center plus the QB sees you coming up the middle it's easire for a end becuase unless there is a tightend or a running back you usually just have to deal with the tackle plus alot of ends are more slender and have alot more speed then say power plus man you can hit the QB from a blind spot but it's not impossible it's just a bigger challenge but i understand what sapp is saying but i give credit to the top defensive tackles

It's tough. Prime Sapp was a monster pass rusher up the middle.i agree with others an elite pass rusher up the middle is more dangerous than a DE. Strahan is the better overall defensive player. Strahan could rush the passer but was great on the run and had multiple ways to get to the QB. You also cant teach a coachble 6 5 270 43 DE who could play both ends and even transition to a 3 4 OLB if needed.

People are noting they play different positions but playing 3 tech DT is easier than playing Left End. A 3 tech DT plays outside shoulder of a slow footed Guard and sees no double team. A Left End doesnt play blindside unless its a left handed QB. A Left End like Strahan can be easily be doubled by tight end because thats the strong side. Strahan faced many double teams and chips from running backs. Strahan also was a beast in stopping the run... Teams would use their right tackle and multiple tight end sets to try to seal off Strahan but it didnt work. Sapp was overrated...a 3 tech DT plays against weak Guards and dont face double teams because they outside shade the guard. Nose Tackle and Left End toughest positions on Dline.
It's the old DT vs DE thing: DE's always contend that if they didn't eat up blocks then DE's couldn't get to QBs and to an extent they are right. BUT Strahan is HOF-er, he is not the best DE I have seen (ex. Deacon Jones was much better) but he belongs. Sapp is 1 of the best all time at his position: these 2 should just chill.
