Eteri is mother Gothel in so many ways. She looks like mother gothel (especially before she died her hair) and a lot of her skaters do have extremely long rapunzel hair
So I was at Skate America, and I just have to say, meeting these skaters is incredible. They're all so kind and friendly and amazing to talk to (especially Amber omg). If you haven't ever gone to an event and you get the chance, do it. Seriously. I went into it for just the ladies skaters and came out in love with like half the ice dance teams and was blown away by the talent in pairs and yeah. Tldr go to a skating event if you can because it's amazing.
Isn't amber wonderful? I'd love to meet her. I want her at the Olympics not just cuz she's talented but because she'll give good interviews and be so animated and interesting (remember the 2018 interviews with our US ladies.... yikes.)
That is so wonderful to hear ❤️💕 these skaters are pure talent and creativity. It warms my heart to know they are as kind in person as skaters were back when I was skating (not on that level ofc!!)
I should've gone to Vegas! Darn it. I wanted to see Nathan Chen in person. Even when he fails his skating is still great. Even his popped jumps are glorious.. I agree though, I think it's a mental issue. What young mortal can handle all the hype, expectations, comparisons, challenges,, school,, pandemic and long distance coaching? It takes its toll......he knew all eyes were on him expecting him to be perfect. Don't forget that was his first time skating these programs in competition. Zhou already had a couple competitions under his belt. I don't care for Shoma's skating style. Nathan will and did get it together for skate Canada. We all know what he's capable of.. I think he'll retire after this Olympics but I hope not. I can't imagine ice skating without him or Yuzuru and my new favorite Vincent Zhou. He deserved that gold. A talented skater with the IT factor, accompanied by great music and beautiful choreography is a winning treat for all of us. Go Nathan!! Our Quad God.
Nathan looked so emotionally and physically drained Saturday night. He was so kind to the handful of fans that stuck around and thanked us for waiting so long to say hello afterward, but you could just tell he was upset and exhausted. And Vincent!!! He was such a sweetheart and was just so happy and grateful for all the support. One of the first things he said to us was, "You guys were the best crowd tonight." He so deserved that win, and I will never shut up about it.
I felt so bad for Kevin when I watched his short program, it was heart breaking and after the program finished it was even harder to watch 😭 I hope he can do better in the next competition, He's a great skater and his program is beautiful.
He's recovering from groin injury, and rumor has it that he wanted to drop out, but the French Federation made him come. I was in the audience and his short program was really sad, the audience really tried to get him through the performance.
I'm not a fan of Nathan but watching him during skate America was just painful. my heart goes out to him and hopefully he gets back into the game of things. olympics wins and losses aren't as satisfying unless everyone is able to give it their 100% effort.
He did well, even though fumbling some jumps. His programs and skating were very enjoyable to watch. I hope to see him in Olympics. He may not medal there, but it doesn't matter. He is already a proven elite skater.
I have been very depressed recently. I have not been having anything to do, and not enjoying much, but your videos are always very enjoyable for me. Figure skating is the one thing that I've had to look forward to recently, and whenever a competition happens, the videos you make allow me to get twice the entertainment and enjoyment from the events.
I'm sure most everyone here is feeling for you. I hope this video helped. I know how u feel, its extremely hard being depressed. I like listening to her videos too, puts me in a good mood. Please don't give up. Sending 💖💗💙💜💚
@@paolala The fact that it’s “dumb commentary” is what really makes it so enjoyable for me. I’m the type of person that likes to analyze and discuss these events and skating drama lol, but I don’t have any friends that are in to figure skating, so I don’t have anyone to talk about it to. The mellow, down to earth way you make your videos just makes it feel like a conversation with a friend, and that means so much more to me than any super polished content would.
Try watching the videos at 1/2 normal speed. The detail in the movements as a complete set can be quite magnificent. My eyes are not "fast" enough to fully appreciate at normal speed. The skaters move quickly through the ice, and the triple/quad jumps must have incredible speed.
I've never been a fan of Nathan, but nothing hurts more than seeing someone not being able to preform at their best. Seeing his anguish and lack of confidence while skating was really hard to watch, because it doesn't matter if he wins or looses, just that he's believing in himself. Same goes for any skater, athlete or person.
Nathan is strong I hope he takes care of himself you are kind boo. We all fall down. Don’t let it take you down. Also go Vincent! Such a breath of fresh air! I want everyone to be happy!
Skate America felt like the Olympics is upon us. Though it was a cake walk for Trusova, everyone else was fighting for their lives here. I'm excited for Skate Canada especially for the womens... wooooooooooooooooh
Also, Shoma's exhibition may be one of the best programs I've seen all season! It just hits all the right notes and Stèphane's choreo just slaps. Maybe because I'm just a sucker for a clubbing program because I was way into the second half of Liza's FS lol.
After watching Nathan struggle, I seriously want to see how is Yuzuru doing (especially when it comes down to the 4A) - does anyone know when he will come back to the world of living? Boy just vanishes into god knows where after every season and then pops back up one beautiful day. Also, Shoma has THE BEST costumes from male skaters for this season (at least from those we have so far seen) - whoever designed them deserves a raise.
@@RariettyC yep he re injured his ankle. Really hope it wasn’t cause of the 4A training. I’m so worried that he will do anything to achieve that dream before retiring. It would be cool to see but it would also be cool to be able to walk after he retires.
Japan nationals was just about 2 - 3 days ago and he Hanyu Yuzuru won! And whats more he was even able to perform the impossible 4A!!!!!! It was a 2 footed landing tho but he didn´t fall and he is now getting closer to actually make the jump it seems so I´d say that he is doing pretty well :D And he will be in olympics beijing 2022
Can we talk about Satako she was magical, she reminded me why I fell in love with figure skating and her pcs were just criminally low. Kaori was underscored, Daria was way overscored but what else is new The pcs in women figure skating is such a joke
Even though Sasha won this competition I’m still worried. I read that she had fractured something in her foot. I know injuries can be common, but the “Eteri expiration date” still looms here. First with Anna toe injury to her bandages neck in Budapest, now this from Sasha. There were rumors Kostornia was injured too, but those were again rumors. She also now has two new programs which either can be a good or bad thing. I don’t know maybe I’m being a little negative, but I’m getting a repeat of what happened to Evgenia in 2018. I wish them to all be healthy and well in time for the Olympic season, but wow it just a little worrisome.
It’s sad that Kevin Aymoz was pressured by the French skating federation to enter this event, even when he and his coach both wanted him to WD due to injury and lack of preparation. The fact that he completed the program is astonishing- maybe not the best decision for his health, but probably what he thought his federation wanted to see. And for what it’s worth, he nailed the performance aspect, especially during the final step sequence, after he’d already suffered three painful falls. I hope he’s in a good spot to recover from this event, physically and mentally 💖
I know I am showing my age here but Shoma reminds me of Sasha Cohen, hot mess but always ends up with a medal. I love both of them. Nathan reminds me of Michelle Kwan great but the Olympics is so much pressure. I hope I am wrong about Nathan. I want him to recover and do well.
You are so refreshing. Without hate to specific skaters, countries. Just minuses, pluses you saw personally without trying to play the role of the judge and actually give the points. And some funny comments. 👍
Vincent was really great with his free skate program. Not a boring performance. I’m sorry for Shoma and Nathan. But Vincent was really blown us away this time.
It was recently confirmed that Valieva and Kostornaya did in fact receive their visas and will be competing at Skate Canada. On another disappointing note. Sasha Trusova, who recently won Skate America, is suffering from a fractured foot which may hinder her Olympic dreams. At Beijing 2022. Her handlers are trying to keep it hush hush but news of this impending obstacle has been resurfacing all over social media. On a more enlightening note. Kostornaya will be adding two new programs for her upcoming performance at skate Canada and is ditching the two uninspiring programs which she executed at the Budapest Trophy.
@@lukestuff2546 Did you see her at practice before she skated her routine at Skate America? Her landings were quite wobbly on the right leg. She was obviously in pain but they allowed her to skate. Knowing that she was suffering from an injury which only worsened at the competition!
And after all that, they just announced Sasha has a fracture (which is similar to what happened to Zhenya before Pyeongcheng and it’s making me nervous) and Kosto has two new programs, which is definitely a result of the instability in team tutberidze, cause before when they had Anna, Sasha and Kamila going strong they didn’t really “need” Aliona as much (it can sound mean but let’s be real, russian federation (and even team tutberidze itself) is pretty cold when it comes to that, they want to win, they don’t care which skater is on the podium so long it’s a russian one) but now things are even more unpredictable after Anna was second in Budapest and Sasha will probably step away for a bit to treat her injury. I’m excited to see the new New York, New York short program and even though Lovely isn’t my idealistic vision of an olympic program, it’s definitely better than what she has now with Vivaldi and I want to see what she does with bringing it back. I hope this is the end of kostodepression but I am TENSE with all this mess
@@jormaella526 Sasha I am sure has a back prob as well. The pressure with all those quads must be taking a toll. I’d love to see her do great at the Olympics but I want Liza there as well .She’s my favourite 🇦🇺
The fierce and chaotic energy of this bolero fits this new version of Shoma so much and its all I need truly, he did really express himself. Can't wait for this program to be clean.
@@patricktriveno1466 I would love to see her on podium too but she popped her flip in the short :"" and admittedly she also has a flutz (not pointing fingers just pointing out that probably only ksenia, amber glenn and trusova had outside edges on the lutzes this comp)
Ah yes... This year's Skate America... - Even tho I'm not a huge fan of Nathan Chen watching him was painfull. I hope he has a great recovery - Shouma Uno my chaotic child! Yes! so proud of you! - I'm so proud of Vincent too!
Cannot believe you just glossed past Miura/Kihara defeating the Russians?! They've improved so much please give them the spotlight they deserve Edit: Shoma's bolero is the only one I can actually get behind and Vincent's free skate was god tier
Man's short program was so bad it was kinda traumatizing 😳 I was so worried about Kevin and Shun, then Nathan came on ice and I was like I can be calm now, he's always solid. Well, I jinxed him. Honestly I'm not worried for him yet, he usually peaks later in season and can recover well. It's not optimal that he's second GP assignment is so soon but if there is one person I trust to get their shit together and skate clean it's him. I love Shoma and he delivered! He seems in very good place mentally, Stephane is good for him ❤️ I love their partnership, they so obviously like each other and enjoy working together, in a sport in which so many coaches seem cold and strict i just love seeing how they interact. Maybe, possibly I will have opportunity to see Shoma live, excited for that! Woman - PCS system is completely broken. I love Sasha but how on earth is she getting higher components then Satoko?
Amber - she had two solid programs without major mistakes and scored over 200. American ladies outside Alysa are bit of the mess right now, two spots are open. I think there is still a chance? It will depend on how Bradie and Mariah look, but Bradie is injured and Mariah was mess at cranberry. Nothing is decided
I truly believe satoko deserves lower pcs than trusova. Yes valieva deserves more, in this competition only young you in the free program deserved more and she got them. Sasha's short program is a masterpiece, any artist can tell you that, not another short program comes near. Only valieva's.
@@xiaoxuensim7265 I saw him fall and leave the ice in practice and I hoped he'd withdraw. It went good for him considering the circumstances but that was one bad fall from permanently fucking up his health and carrier situation imo. He has so much potential and rotates so fast! I definitely can see him on a olympics podium in four years
@@menufaraI didn't know he fell in the practice 😱 , I agree, he has so much potential in him, but I am always worried abt him getting injured, injuries could really mess athletes up. I too is hoping he'd focus more on recovering and laying good foundation and set his eyes on the next Olympics, he has the potential to best yuma imo.
I feel bad for Nathan, I could see when he got on the ice that something had changed since we last saw him skate. :( I hope his team is taking care of him and that he can overcome whatever he might be going through.
It's apparently some hip issues. Those watching the live practices at Skate America noticed him holding and rubbing his side a lot after jumps and we were all thinking maybe it was a bruised rib or how he was reacting to nerves...but, apparently, at the Skate Canada press conference, Nathan said he was dealing with a "hip thing". Now that his Grand Prix events are over and he's just waiting for the Finals, he can rest a little and maybe heal up. Hopefully by the time the GPF rolls around, he'll be better. I wonder if jumping too many quads is contributing to long-term hip issues.
I really like Kaori but I, unfortunately, hate her long program. She’s skating to a song called “no more fight left in me”, which is a very sad and political song about a woman who has given everything and is tired. Kaori is COMPLETELY disconnected from that song. She jumped very well, but she didn’t dance or perform it at all. Also, I have no clue why her outfit is so blue and bright when the song is so sad and angry. If anyone is interested, the world champion in roller skating, Natalia Baldizzone danced this same song, and her expressions and outfit match it so much better. it’s a completely different and powerful experience.
I agree; I like the song (and the outfit by itself, honestly, so pretty) but it's not right for Kaori. She can perform very well with the right music. I kinda wish she'd kept her Matrix program for another season...
@@QuirkyGirl10 yeah it is, and the song is very sad. In the beginning the song is slow and Kaori is just speeding and jumping in a colorful outfit while the song goes: “I gave up everything I raised your children I swimmed against the stream I walked every mountain What is it that you want from me? Is it my soul? Is it my body? What is it that I need to do So you can set me free?”
@@Nice-sz4ee Oh yeah that one would be lovely, too! Her Gladiator program is good; why give her such weird music for her free skate (weird for her, that is)
If Nathan wins gold at Skate Canada, will people finally shut up and quit blaming Nemesis? He was skating two of the most difficult programs ever performed, and he was trying to do it while revealing his programs to the world for the very first time! That's overly ambitious and insane. It's unheard of. Is anyone all that shocked that he had issues? He was clearly not prepared. Who would be in their very first showing of the season? Also, he has been working on the quad loop...and, in all honesty, I think it's throwing some of his other quads off. If Nathan, who is most consistent with the quads is having issues, that just goes to show how incredibly difficult it is to maintain consistency in 5 different types all at once. Nobody has ever done a 6 quad program with 5 different types of quads and several in difficult combination before. If perfected and accomplished by Nathan, it would be monumental and historic, just as Yuzuru's 4A would be. Nathan isn't talking about what he's trying to be the first to accomplish the way Yuzuru is in the spotlight with his 4A, but both men, possibly in their final seasons of skating, are looking to make history at this Olympics. That's quite clear. It's not just about winning gold.
I agree that it might just be a one time thing with no specific reason, after all, while it’s true that he’s won everything for the past 3 years, he’s also had rough short programs in competitions, it’s not like it’s the first stime he falls in three years. At the same time I disagree that the 6 quads program would be revolutionary, I mean, sure, it is amazing, but not if the rest of what makes figure skating figure skating is completely ignored. His programs are the emptiest thing ever, with the actual program starting at the ending choreo sequence and the PCs are totally undeserved. He always had the potential to be a truly complete figure skater, but never actually did something about it, since he still gets the PCs. So honestly, no I won’t be happy if he gets gold with a 6 quads jumping four minutes. I’ll be happy for him, but not for the sport.
@@ariannabinaghi5222...two things, really. First off, I'm not even saying it's a one-time thing. In general, I expect Nathan to struggle more this season because what he's trying to do is just insanely hard. I also expect Yuzuru to struggle a little as well since he's trying to learn the 4A. It's very difficult too, but maybe not as devastating in the grand scheme of things if it goes wrong since it's more about 1 specific jump and not about an entire layout. Secondly, yeah, I don't think you're being objective at all. Nathan is helping to push the sport forward _in the tech department,_ so if he can accomplish a 6 quad program using at least 5 different types of quads with several in difficult combination, it would absolutely be revolutionary and monumental for the sport. It would be(just as he's in the history books for being the first to do 5 quads), simply because of its degree of difficulty and because something that insanely difficult has never been accomplished before. How is this any different than Yuzuru trying to learn the 4A? For something to be revolutionary, it doesn't necessarily have to be _about artistry(the 4A isn't about revolutionizing artistry either)._ And I won't bother arguing with you about artistry because what we enjoy is always "art" and what we don't like simply isn't. It's such a subjective thing and that's not what this is about. I could easily turn this around and say that you're "ignoring" the tech aspect of the sport. Who wants to stay stuck at 4 or 5 quads forever? Nathan has been doing 5-quad programs for years. For him, it's getting old and stagnant. You may not be impressed personally but history will be, and it will still record him as having done something nobody has ever done before in the history of the sport, and future skaters(those who are technically ambitious) will have something to try to strive for...which will keep pushing the sport forward in terms of difficulty whether you like it or not. BTW, nobody is expecting Yuzuru fans to be happy if Nathan wins gold.
@@jzas307...this LP, if perfected and performed flawlessly the way it's meant to be, would blow the LP world record he set back in 2019 at the Grand Prix away.
it was reported that sasha has a broken foot... i hope shes able to rest and doesnt push through again like this so she can be in top shape for the olympics. my heart cant go through the whole zhenya olympic rollercoaster again. i do believe though eteri is actually taking sashas needs into account this time and truly wants her to win the olympics (maybe she sees her as a way to disprove the tutberidze expiration date? or maybe she just developed a respect for trusovas athleticity and work ethic). Anyways, i just hope this injury doesnt stop her dream, and she can compete on her prime and deliver groundbreaking performances in the olympic games.
Eteri likes US. She is always going there when there is a chance. And for Trusova - there was never any official info. It's rumors started from pretty shitty news sport site that likes scandals and drama.
Hi Paola! This video was much needed :) also I’m pretty sure that Vincent got so much better because he stopped this year of college. So just some info :)
Let’s be real here, if Usacheva wasn’t from Russia and didn’t have Eteri as her coach, she would not have been on the podium. Young You and Kaori had the skates of the night, it’s sad they weren’t properly rewarded for it.
Nathan has won competitions with Nemesis so it is not the music that is the cause but that he tried to attempt a difficult jump combo which he has not attempted ever since 2018 Olympics. On top of that, he also has a hip injury.
"His artistry is alwasy beautiful"? have you ever watched Vincent in the last 4 years ? oh I forgot you are new fan , I respect that but before stating something false you should check some videos of him( youtube always help for the memory), the reason why the fans are really amazed and shock is the fact that Vincent under Hamada´s coaching have really improved his artistry , not yet the best but he was like we say in latinoamerica " era un tronco" before , because he was stiff af and no charisma or intricate steps before and after the jumps and on saturday he looked like other person.
Omg un tronco jajaja Ay que malos 🤣 Vincent no es de mi agrado aún, es un piquín aburrido para mi gusto, pero definitivamente con Hamada ha mejorado DEMASIADO
Yeah, I always saw Vincent as more of a gifted technical skater, but with these 2 performances, I really sat up and took notice, as his expression on the ice has greatly improved. I'm so happy that all his hard work has paid off!
Let's not forget that Daria is fifteen. Not every will (or should) be a Zagitova, winning the Olys at that age. She has time, and who knows? Maybe she'll be in the best shape of them all in a few years since she's not doing ultra-Cs.
I think he is under extraordinary pressure. Conspiracy theory, which is no longer a theory...that there are agencies playing in our minds, and now our bodies which they could not do back in the 60's and 70's. Nathan Chen is not excluded. Anyway, his skating here although was not "clean", is quite mesmerizing and masculinely beautiful. I prefer yin and yang over feminine vs masculine. So he is by nature yang with a good amount of yin in his skating. He could not find his yin a few years back. I believed he has succeeded.
Young You absolutely should've gotten second (with less than half a point difference in the end) and I'm 50/50 on whether Kaori should've gotten bronze even. Daria only got 2 "!" when she should've gotten an "e" for every of her 3 3Lz. The same technical panel gave You a bunch of "q" and a "!" so we know they could see those mistakes, just decided to close their eyes when a Eteri girl is skating.
I adore Shoma but i feel like if he had his jumps then on top of his musicality, step sequence, passion and costumes, he would be too powerful 😂 something had to be inconsistent and that makes it that much more anxiety inducing to watch him skate. I’m always so stressed out for him
i watch a russian podcast about skating and they had many versions about chen...and the most right one i think that he is learning more quad jumps including rib jumps more cause he doest like doing them. so when you focus on something more your other jumps are not so good anymore. like in every sport. i think he needs to return to 5 quads otherwise its dangerous for him in olympic season
Men's skating have become way more interesting to me... You really can not know which of those men are going to win ♥️🔥 women, if a Eteri girl doesn't win gold next year I'll jump in the sea. I knew Sasha was going to win, but even when Daria is not the second best she stills get silver 😔 just because, well you know. Women's FS is starting to become boring.
I was so not sure that Sasha would win. There still was a chance that she would try 3a and quads and would smash the ice like crazy with some 5th final place. Don't know how is it that you knew that she should win XD
Great Video as always!!! Pretty sure Sasha didn't jump Quads. Except the first Lutz everything was downgraded to be a triple. I think its both because of her injury AND to give Sasha clean skates and slowly build her up so she gets calmer and peaks at the Olympics. Or I'm just giving them to much credit for taking it easier this competition
It has to be a testament to the impact of Zhenya that when we see girls like Sasha and Anna with possible injuries, we get deja vu to 2018. I am heartbroken not to see her in 2022 💕 I also have a soft spot for Rika Kihira who I hope under Orser could medal! P.s. Can Sasha please lose the red for the Olympics…
I felt so sorry for Nathan. He is truly one of the greatest male figure skaters of all time. He seems so approachable and very humble. I really hope he recovers and gets his mojo back intact!
Just one point about the dresses: designers usually work together with the clients. They listen and fulfill their requests. My guess is that tudberitze (or however it’s spelled) is the one behind the horrible designs, and not the artist, so that’s why the same designer makes awesome dresses for other people, because those people either have taste or they let the designer go with their instinct without making any mayor changes.
Yale. And he's taking off this year in order to prepare for the Olympics. Next year, he'll do the reverse, take a break from skating to finish school. After that, he'll reassess and decide if he wants to come back and skate or just retire. He's only 22. If he really wants to, he can come back and compete in the 2024 Olympics as well.
I don't think you need to worry about Nathan. One non-gold medal in, like, 4 years isn't anything to be ashamed of. He skated well at Skate Canada this weekend. He just needs more time to get comfortable with his programs and extremely difficult quad layouts. He'll be fine by the time the major competitions roll around. He always is.
Also, these component scores (PCs) are a mess! I don’t know if anyone here keeps track of the scoring, but it made no sense to me. Again Kaori and satoko were robbed of their components!!

@@maria-ceciliapeon5776...no, _you_ don't get it. That's just who Nathan is. If Nathan can win gold medals wearing clothes from second-hand stores, all the more power to him! What's the problem? 99% of the other skaters are _surely_ already wearing stuff you'll enjoy staring at. If he wants to be different then let him be. I'm not hyperbolic about Nathan losing. I hope that seeing that he is vulnerable will give him more fight and help him work on his mental game. Evan Lysacek did not skate well leading up to the Olympics. He didn't even win the US Championships. So as long as Nathan works on his jumps and mental game he should be fine for the Olympics. Also he should shuck both programs. The music is awful for both.
Oh, wow, I didn't even remember that Evan Lysacek was not the national champion entering the Olympics in 2010. I hope you are right about Nathan, but I agree with Paola too; it would be great to see Vincent win the gold too.
Tarasova & Morozov may be winning, but they still haven't skated a clean long program. They're always making 2 mistakes. This was the 1st competition where they had noteworthy challengers. Nathan's not injured, it's the Olympic season stress, just like 2018. He's pissed, so he'll be better at Skate Canada. It was unconscionable for the French Federation to send (demand) Kevin Aymoz to Skate America WITH a groin injury, ESPECIALLY when the Olympics are 4 months away. Amber needs to change coaches for this Olympic season. Vincent did, and look at the progress he has made! She's such a talented skater. For some reason, Kaori never gets the scores she deserves. No one has her edge quality and speed! Daria should have won the short. Eteri spoke to commentator Andrea Joyce about the injury. It has been confirmed that she has a fractured right foot. Eteri wants a sweep at the Olympics, so they'll find a way to have Sasha skate at Russian Nationals to qualify for the Olympic team. She should pull out of the GP Finals and pamper her foot.
Saying one's name correctly, especially in such a public arena, is never a " . . . super minor thing." . I did notice the commentators pronounced Zhou correctly. Thanks for teaching the world.
Eteri is mother Gothel in so many ways. She looks like mother gothel (especially before she died her hair) and a lot of her skaters do have extremely long rapunzel hair

One of the first things he said to us was, "You guys were the best crowd tonight." He so deserved that win, and I will never shut up about it.
another mistake at 9:45, Vincent Zhou was JUNIOR world champion on 2017, the SENIOR world champion of 2017 was Yuzuru Hanyu.
honestly, at this point what is a video of mine without a mistake? lol. Thank you for correcting 😁

I felt so bad for Kevin when I watched his short program, it was heart breaking and after the program finished it was even harder to watch 😭 I hope he can do better in the next competition, He's a great skater and his program is beautiful.
I cried after that. My heart hurt so bad. 😭💔I really hope he’s ok.
@@alinareybey3263 I hope the same, I want to see him again
He's recovering from groin injury, and rumor has it that he wanted to drop out, but the French Federation made him come.
I was in the audience and his short program was really sad, the audience really tried to get him through the performance.
@@kristinab3838 I’m low key mad about that, they shouldn’t of forced him to compete when he obviously was still healing. 😞poor guy.

The mellow, down to earth way you make your videos just makes it feel like a conversation with a friend, and that means so much more to me than any super polished content would.
@@strawberrylime33 I won’t give up, I decided that recently, it’s just hard. I appreciate the kind words stranger, and this video did help me
Try watching the videos at 1/2 normal speed.

The pair that i was rooting for the most!
That is such a big deal for them!! They have improved so much it is so impressive

This is so true. Pcs for ladies skating is a joke
It's a joke in pairs as well. I mean, Tarasova and Morozov...
@@fucknblame well they are from Russia, so...
Shoma lands his jumps like a cat!
Update: the Russians have their visas now, they’re coming to Skate Canada!
Nooo Sasha 😭
OH NO SASHA NO!!! MY GIRL!!
is it true about sasha????
I'm glad for Kamila and Alena, but poor Sasha 😢

I was so worried abt shun tooo, but people rarely mention him
I truly believe satoko deserves lower pcs than trusova. Yes valieva deserves more, in this competition only young you in the free program deserved more and she got them. Sasha's short program is a masterpiece, any artist can tell you that, not another short program comes near. Only valieva's.

🙌🏻 bless you for sharing the good news. I was so worried. Lol
@@REA999 I don't even mind her bringing back the piano program cos this one just doesn't seem like a totally good fit
"No More Fight Left in Me" - yikes! Is that the name of the piece she is skating too? That sounds ominous, given it's an Olympic year!
@@QuirkyGirl10 yeah it is, and the song is very sad. In the beginning the song is slow and Kaori is just speeding and jumping in a colorful outfit while the song goes:

Thank you so much for these videos. It is refreshing to see a TH-camr talk about this sport.
You're right, those mistakes are because of different factors
The layout is huge difficult and it's different from his last seasons layout
@Divine Aria - God, I so hope you are right! When I saw that the music was "Nemesis," I was like, what a way to set yourself up for disaster!

I think Nathan getting third place at skam will let him have less pressure for this Olympics (he had alot of pressure at the last Olympics)

Nathan was probably just stressful because he actually chose more difficult entries for jumps for the first time.
He really is silver Shoma
You keep getting better and better, Paola👍🙏😊⛸
Actually all of the Russian visas ( at least from the ladies discipline) are now approved. I think Kami and Tutik are already in Canada
So much pressure put on Nathan. I think this will help him release alot of the pressure.
Rooting for Vincent and Shoma

Great Video as always!!!
Pretty sure Sasha didn't jump Quads. Except the first Lutz everything was downgraded to be a triple.
I think its both because of her injury AND to give Sasha clean skates and slowly build her up so she gets calmer and peaks at the Olympics.

Nathan Chen. Harvard. This is his last year, uh, at Harvard. School is hard.
I am so happy for Vincent Zhou, but heartbroken for Nathan Chen
I don't think you need to worry about Nathan. One non-gold medal in, like, 4 years isn't anything to be ashamed of. He skated well at Skate Canada this weekend. He just needs more time to get comfortable with his programs and extremely difficult quad layouts. He'll be fine by the time the major competitions roll around. He always is.

Also, these component scores (PCs) are a mess! I don’t know if anyone here keeps track of the scoring, but it made no sense to me. Again Kaori and satoko were robbed of their components!!
Ahh me perdí tantos momentos 😭 conoces un lugar en el que pueda ver las competencias?? No encuentro ninguno 😔
habia un live del canal ruso pero lo quitaron ayer. Ahora buscando los nombres salen en youtube los programas especificos

I am pretty sure you are the biggest fan of Maya 😀
It has NOT been confirmed that sasha has a fracture. I personally dont think she would be able to do a quad on a fractured foot.
just pointing out, hanyu managed it at the olympics when his ankle was still a mess
@@helenaprout1061 men and women are completely different when it comes to jumps specially quads. men have bodies that are more suited than ladies. thats why its taken so long for the women to catch up also training them for longevity is way different!
"Winner of 2017 Worlds for Men's" Junior not Senior
Senior same year, we have to wait 15 more days for him to start his season
I think I have Yuzuru winning worlds in 2017 imprinted in my head lol (also Javi winning the short there)
i know that this can sound dumb but where is yuzuru? he is not competing anymore?
I believe HE SHOULD, HE HAS TO CHANGE BOTH HIS PROGRAMS AND CLOTHES. WHERE DID HE PICK THEM UP? A SECOND HAND STORE?
...so? Even if it was from a second-hand store, let him skate to whatever he wants and wear whatever he wants. Are you his mother? Do you enjoy being told how to dress and how to express yourself as an individual?
@@divinearia1601 I guess you just don't get it! ... Dive in your soup ... By ...
There's no need for him to get in line with everyone else.
Has any Nathan been trying a quad axel (insane as fuck)
There's video somewhere of him trying. I don't think he's dedicated to it like Yuzu. He has bigger fish to fry so to speak.
Oh no, Nathan hit Eteri expiration date! 😱 Expiration date is not a joke, you see, he's almost done! /sarcasm/
At this point the Olympic team will be:
Velieva- a LOCK
Trusova- barring the injury
Khromykh- if she becomes consistency
Yes, QUADS are the key!
Reserves:
Tuktamysheva- if the Quad girls become inconsistent, she's in
Kostornaia- if she regains her speed and 3A, she's in
Shcherbakova- If she regains her quad/ the quad girls fail nationals, she' s in
I'm not hyperbolic about Nathan losing.
Kevin😢💕😢💕😢
Kevin😢😢😢
She should pull out of the GP Finals and pamper her foot.
this is like a super minor thing but zhou is pronounced like "joe"
Saying one's name correctly, especially in such a public arena, is never a " . . . super minor thing." . I did notice the commentators pronounced Zhou correctly. Thanks for teaching the world.
Maiia’s gonna win. Start taking swimming lessons!!!😉😘🥰
