RULES:
Assemble the board with random numbers. Put the robber in the desert and water on the edges, ports every other. Clockwise, each player places a settlement and road, then reverse with one more. On your turn, roll dice and players with adjacent settlements and cities collect resources as indicated. If you roll a 7, everyone with 8 or more cards discards half, then move the robber and steal a card. Trade your resources with others or the bank. Buy and build to expanding your empire. Play a max of 1 development card each turn. The first to 10 victory points, wins!
You have the same OG and superior version of the game I have, very epic. The art looks way less generic than the new versions and I love it.

@@SeniorAdrian I'm not sure the exact version, but it's called Settlers of Catan, not just Catan. And the picture on the box looks old. I didn't even know they changed the name to just Catan

You're supposed to put them by the labels they have, starting with A
@@Spilzu actually, both methods are listed as variations in the rulebook, though the alphabetical one is listed first

Also settlements two roads apart
Small mistake, numbers shouldn't be put randomly on the board. Can create unbalanced spot with the best numbers to close to each other. On the back of the numbers should be an alphabetic order. Start with A, B, C, etc.. put the first number with A on a random spot on the outside of the board and put the next on the following outside tile. Do this in a spiral motion, untill you reach the center and all tiles are filled.
There is also a variation in the rules where you use random numbers - you have to make sure no red numbers touch though.
The version I have from the early 2000s doesn’t have the letters. Yes, you can go alphabetically with the sets that have the letters, but the random setup *without reds touching each other* makes for a much more interesting game in my opinion because it adds to the variety from one game to the next.

The numbers aren’t random, they go down in alphabetical order, the tiles are placed randomly.
