    Dude, thank you so much for specific about the usage of the power bank with the crank thing. I been really trying to find answers for which is best and you the only one to say it won't charge phones.

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It might charge phones OK, but the phone may also limit charging with it and thus waste most of your energy. The phone will likely prefer to be charged with a power bank while the power bank probably won't care what charges it as long as it is 5V from what I have seen in other videos/websites and my own testing. Never know for sure though til you test what you want to use.

    How long does it take to charge a power bank using that?

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lots of hours lol. Probably aeound 10 hours for a 20 amp hour power bank if it can accept 2 amps of current.

    I am charging two of those battery power banks from last night and they are only half way done. Boy, my arm sure is tired. 😅👍 (just kidding but it would take 1 whole year to crank charge one of those beefy banks!)

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Probably more than 30 hours to fully charge the first one and over 20 hours to fully charge the second one lol.

    I have a 1000watt solar panel array and a 500 watt wind turbine. I know this wouldn’t be the most efficient or timely thing but do you think that it would charge 12v batteries and if so at what rate? I’ve had about 5 days here of cloud cover and no wind and my battery bank has almost drained completely. Now like I said I know it won’t be practical to charge the whole bank but do you think if while I’m relaxing in the evening cranking this thing it could help from them draining to nothing in dyer situations? Thanks for your video!

      @Electronzap  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If you crank out 20 watts for an hour, then you'd get 20 watt hour of power. So, it won't add much to a large battery. I think most people use a small fuel powered generator to top off their batteries on cloudy days.

    Just for fun took a screen capture at 2:17 and had ChatGPT-4 translate it:
    ChatGPT Said:
    The label in the image you provided is in Chinese, and here's the translation:
    Attention to the connection, to avoid damage.
    Maximum power of the connected device 20W.
    Do not connect high-power electrical devices to avoid damage.
    Do not connect devices with unspecified power to avoid damage.
    Warning:
    The USB port defaults to 5V.

    Nice. Here is a literal translation of the labels:
    The faster the shaking speed, the greater the power generation.
    Gold maximum power generation of about 20W.
    The faster the shaking speed, the higher the voltage at the output of the unstable voltage.
    Table shaking speed is too slow, will not be able to stabilize the pressure output.
    Note: before using the USB port , the voltage is adjusted to 5V.
    Nine-voltage output
    3/5/6/9/12/15V
    Unstable voltage output
    Get the highest voltage
    Pretty much what you guessed.

    Both those items are useful to have around especially in todays uncertain world. I wasn't keen on the stickers but as long as it works and does the job then its not important. Thanks for posting
    UPDATE: Just checked around and prices vary alot as do the reviews. I get the feeling the poorer reviews came mainly from people less practically minded but others have suggested mods to the basic model. Some good ideas like add chargable batteries or super caps which is topical for here at present. Someone else looked at improving the cranking action with added gears and then using wind power! Food for thought I guess and I like the idea of taking a cheap basic unit and buff it up

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That does sum things up nicely with this unit :) I hope they improve it.

    I wanna see a unit that does 2 Amps and not just 1 Amp... :/ Of cause there could be multiple things that makes the issue in your video, the cable, the powerbank, the meter....
    Tried to see if you could get 2 amps out of it?

    My phone doesn't work on that because it's said charge faster from a power adapter or something

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It tends to be better to DIY charge a portable power bank and then use that to charge a phone.

    • @cjdelphi
      @cjdelphi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the phone negotiates current and voltage and if that chip isn't there it will only charge st 5v 500ma
      feed the output to a couple of good capacitors then feed that to a qc3 or pd module and you will then be able to fast charge your phone

    But how can you pull 20W outta it it was barely hitting 5W in this test right ?

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More current would flow if it had an easier load, such as a capacitor bank with a diode preventing reverse current. I could also crank it better if it was strapped to a solid surface. They may also lie about how much power it can output, or state a best case scenario.

    • @BestNameInTheWholeWorld
      @BestNameInTheWholeWorld 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Electronzap 20W if a superconductor is connected lol thats an easier load

    • @Electronzap
      @Electronzap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly. Less resistance will make it easier to crank, and the faster you crank it, the more current you will get from it.
