Any horse at a auction that goes for $350 or less will go to Canada or Mexico for slaughter. We have a huge horse auction in mid Michigan. I am happy you got him.
When I go if I don't have room to train and re home . I run the bid up, sometime i end up taking home a horse I didnt really want hahah crazy part is they become the best horses.
I was at the auction that day and totally remember him. Watched him being ridden and wow, what a nice horse. I was outbid on the horse I came for but bought a nice one the following month. Good luck with your boy!

Congratulations! Great feeling. My friend is showing her auction horse in cattle classes and doing great. The horse was bound for slaughter and she rescued her; been to world show once already. Doing super and getting seasoned.
This is so sweet. We finally goat a horse a few weeks back. Ours is a 12yr old gelding. He’s a flea bitten gray Arabian rescue. He is everything I could have asked for. His name is Blue Jeans

@@emilylipsitz ok ....... Blue came two days ago. When. The trailer pulled into the drive , another horse was with him. My mom and aunt surprised me and my cousin with another horse. Our horses are kept in an open pen with a 14 by 9 feet shed. We're working on giving them a much bigger pen than what the are in atm.

Emily Lipsitz Blue is around 12-13 hands and the other one Fancy is about 14 hands. She’s crossed with a quarter horse. I know the shed is probably to small but it was originally built for our goats.

I didn't really know much about Auctions till I started watching Horse Plus and they go and save horses all the time and it's really hard finding out the truth behind a lot of this stuff but I think it's very important as well!
I am so happy that you won the bid on the wonderful horse you wanted. Being so fortunate in your circumstances, I hope you donate and help support a horse rescue group. So many horses are put in these auctions , at no fault of their own, most horrible, inhumane place for them.just for the mighty dollar.. We all can help.

I am so happy you bought through an auction! ❤️ He is just three yrs old? In my opinion that is way too young to have been ridden that much. Be sure to let him develop fully without being ridden heavily ❤️ Happy life together! 💝
My TB ex-racehorse was 3 when he came to me. They ride 2yr olds on the track..
My farrier said bc I weighed just over 100lbs & I didn't ride him hard or jump him my horse would be fine. And he was.
My first experience with a horse was identical quarter horse called Lady Bug. So gentle and perfect with us kids and acted up terribly with my uncle. I could ride Lady bug without saddle. I slid off , fell under her and Lady froze spread eagle waiting for me to crawl out from under her.. I loved Lady Bug.
I thought I recognized that horse, I lived like 5 minutes from that auction for the about 5 months, and I’m constantly looking at their website
He’s stunning!!! I know this was a while ago but he’s so chilled and well behaved for such a young horse! Hope he’s still doing well

Congrats on a lovely gelding! I am so old and cheap that the prices of horses these days are just too high; I'd be scared to pay $7,500 for a horse at auction without thorough vet check. I'm sure it's going well for you though.
Horse prices are ridiculous these days. My horses are my investment, & I'm blessed to have resources that help me be able to afford a horse like him. My other gelding was bought for $400, so you can for sure find amazing horses at any price. 💗
why do they have saddles on the horses though? You can't see what their backs look like with those on.
I raised Plantation Tennessee Walking Horses for many years. My favorite horse was a beautiful Palamino that I named Angel. I raised her from a foal. Due to the decline of my mother's health, I had to give up all of my horses to help take care of her. I surely miss them. You have purchased a great horse.
Any horse is beautiful, or can be beautiful, with knowledge and Love.

I hope is all you dreams come true. I miss my Haflinger Sil but I did the privalige of having her for at least 18 yrs. She Stoll helps beginners learn as she is 23 and still has her wonderful personality. Did I mention we hauled her to a big show at 2+yrs old and she won champion mare in whole show? The sire of her 2 get was grand champion of the whole show. Such awesome horses.

yeah. my horse was unfortunately bought by a kill buyer(likely at auction) fortunately a girl rescued him and trained him, a couple owners later I now have him.

That actually most likely the cattle truck they run livestock there as well, and that auction is pretty good in having a good crowd not much shadiness like that

Oh. My. God... xD We got our most recent horse here at the July 9th Auction this year. Poco's Golden Firefly. (Funnily enough, she's also a Palomino lol. Unfortunately she's got arthritic knees. Also the first shift auctioneer is my preferred guy xD He banters a little with the crowd and has a lot of energy in his call. The middle-shift guy drones, to my ear lol

@@HumbleHeartHorsemanship it’s a mustang so im not sure but he has a quarter horse type of build or a more stockier build anyways, my mom thought he was a draft or draft mix at first lol

They definitely should, some corrals did have water for the horses but others didn't. They all should have access to water 24/7.

Exactly my thought! Some sellers had troughs for their horses while others didn't. It should be a requirement for all of the horses.
