This lockdown seems to be really getting to me as I am beginning to get interested in fantasy games for the first time. I was interested in the new Oathmark rules and so bought a set on Amazon and they are really very intersting indeed. What do you think?

Interesting looking rules. I like the idea of mixed race armies. Adds something extra and gives you the opportunity to paint up a few different minis

Nicely done, Dom. Glad you are enjoying this. I will look forward to your first battle report! I am glad you took this up. I have four grandsons who are going to love this.

Thanks Kris - Ken bought a set too so I think I might have converted him away from Warhammer - although he was moaning there was no rules for firearms!

Just tell Ken it's a different fantasy historical period BEFORE the advent of black powder, medieval historical fantasy, if you will ;)>

Thanks for watching. I think they are interesting and as I hear it more races will follow, like undead

Coming from Kings of War, I am not 100% sure I'll get into this, but there are several really cool ideas in there, so I think i'll just get the book and test it out

I have never played Kings of War but I really like these rules although we have so far only played one game due to lockdown etc. They are pretty simple but give a good game with enough variants and flavourful to make it fun

Good review Dom. I picked these up just out of interest really as I like Frostgrave and have to say I'm really impressed and keen to give them a go.

I am going to see if I can get Ken to give my Orcs a go with these rules :)

You say it's not expensive. But it's gonna be supliment heavy. £15-£20 book every 3-5 months. If it goes same way as Frostgrave the later books will be just compiling everything and putting errata in. Seems cheap on the surface. Already two more books coming sworn swords (regiment development) and battle worn(undead ect) or something.
So its gonna be £45-£60 in books before you crack on. Just saying.
I love Frostgrave. We smashed the first book and loved it. Keep replaying. But later books. Lovely items as they are. Never really altered game much. They were take it or leave it. Lovely items as they are. Flawless presentation. Think there is a creeping cost with these things.

I guess that’s possible, but if the core game is good, you don’t have to get the rest. Plus of course they are selling the figures which helps the profits

What did you think of rule set ? Looking forward to trying it.

Hi Dom from your review do you think this is one of the best rule sets yet....

    • @BootsontheTable
      @BootsontheTable  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Tough to say without a game, but of the big battle fantasy rules they seem very good

The Races? They sounds more like species that races. Or are they all human? I am confused, sorry.

whatever you rather... doesnt matter to the game
