      So ordering this new PCM from Wrangler Fix listed above is the way to solve the issue? I did the same thing as your buddy except I first got the transmission rebuilt and sensors replaced and that change a thing so then I bought a PCM after months of searching and that didn’t work, so I returned it for another one, that also didn’t work, Jeep actually worked better with my original PCM. Now it’s been sitting in my garage for almost 2 years because I can’t get it registered in California with the check engine light still on...do you recommend I call Mark listed on the wrangler fix website?

    Excellent video. I have an auto '05 TJ Rocky Mtn that looks very similar to this one, down to the seat covers, only mine are Bartact. Mark got the new wranglerfix pcm to me very quickly. And what a difference in shift points, smooth acceleration, and no more goofy, unwarranted Chrysler codes. Great to see another well built TJ in Summer mode. My doors and top are in the garage from late April - early Oct., where they should be. Beach wheelin' is by far my favorite off roading, couple this with the greatest generation of Jeep, the TJ and you have some amazing quality family time.

      @@ozzstars_cars I just took my 2 sons out of state to see their pop pop after installing a new blower motor and recharging the ac, about 7 hrs each way. This TJ is about the best vehicle I've ever had. Modest old man emu 2" coil lift on 32" bfg's, Fox 2.0 Shox and their steering stabilizer, recent napa HD gearbox and Currectlync steering, Freedom Off Road front lower adj control arms, the rest are fixed Detroit Axles. I highly recommend this build to anyone who is an adventurer not a rock crawler. The best of both worlds, great off road capability while being a dd. I shoot real estate and not every photographer/videographer can get their vehicle to remote beach houses or mountain houses and cabins. This '05 Rocky Mtn 4.0 has been by far my favorite and most fun vehicle I've had.

    I have found that many things can affect the transmission.....If you have a bad engine sensor it can throw the car into limp mode to protect engine and transmission.. Sometimes its not easy finding the bad part. Unless you luck up and get the right code. Engine can affect the transmission and vice versa. And the wiring from either can affect both due to limp mode! I have taken my Jeep to 4 mechanics ,so far and none of them have fixed it. But I have sure have learned alot from researching on my own to try to understand and fix it myself!

    I've got a used 2016 Sahara wrangler unlimited. I bought it with 10,000 miles 4.5 years ago. There is now 46k miles on it. I've noticed over the years a few occasions where I got a hard shift but no major problems. It wouldn't shift out of second a few days ago when my gf needed it for work. Got home and drove it and didn't experience an issue until today. Doing the same thing. Won't shift past 2nd. No shops want to touch it. Came across this video and would like some feedback. Only issues I've had to date are minor issues. Abs and battery connection issues. Add ons having power issues. Light bars to b specific

    I have a Jeep problem that you may can troubleshoot. Why is it that jeeps seem to travel 15 MPH below the speed limit? We have a highway that runs along the beach. When a lane slows down and you switch lanes to pass the traffic, the holdup is always a Jeep. Do they all have bad transmissions or are Jeep owners the issue?

I mean on the interstate or down the highway everything's great overdrive works great. It just feels like I'm shifting into overdrive too soon like it should be riding 3rd gear out a little longer. Most the time when I'm just cruising around the mountains and stuff here in East Tennessee I just leave the overdrive off until I get to the interstate or the main highways. Because just cruising around 35 40 mph it wants to kick in my overdrive and it drops my RPM so damn low it's like I'm lugging

    That was a nice ride, man. I haven't been to the coast in a couple years - not since my dad sold his center console Sea Fox. I haven't been to DE in years. Nice they let you drive on the beach! There's only one area in MA that allows that ... but you need permits up the wazoo, plus all kinds of rules and regs, of course. I'm sure DE makes a few bucks off everyone as well. That's the Northeast for you. I'm shocked they still allow it up here with the people we have in office here today ... but that's another story for another day!
    Good to know about those PCM's and Wrangler Fix. I don't have any customers that own Wranglers, but never know what will come in here from day to day. Lots of Grand Cherokees around here. Hard to believe those other PCM "rebuild" companies can get away with that spray n pray racket. Sad!!

    I'm having a few issues maybe this will help. The vehicleis a Mitsubishi raider with the 4.7...it's basically a Dakota.
    Problem, very intermittent no crank no start, then when it does start it's in limp mode. Bunch of Tran codes including lost com ecm to tcm (its all one unit) codes and the p1603.
    This thing had been kicking my but with how intermittent it is, customer says it will do it at times and then be fine for months! I checked all my powers and grounds (load tested with 4.5amp light). Using my I activate, when turning the key to start, one time I got it to act up and it showed a dim led on the control side...and of coarse when I hook the scope up it never did it again!
    I cleared the codes and ran a report and no codes present months ago, I just checked it out today and the 1603 was stored again but the customer had no complaints at all, I just wanted to see if I could get it to act up again while I had it but nope lol.
    I told him months ago I suspected the pcm/tcm but can't prove it.
    Any other test suggestions to help prove this out?

    • @ozzstars_cars
      @ozzstars_cars  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Those intermittents are a headache. Did you see the video where I made a harness for this Jeep and that taped into the TCM powers and grounds? I put the small incandescent bulb right next to the gauge cluster so the owner could tell me if he saw any flickering (dropouts). He never saw any after 3 weeks of driving but continued to have the hard shifting issue. That helped me in confidence to call a bad PCM which it was. You may have to go that route if there is no smoking gun. If you do decide to call the PCM try giving Mark a call at Wrangler Fix to see if he has what you need. His contact info is listed above. If you can let me know what you discovered with that Mitsu turd. 🤭

    I'd just rather go back 25-30 yrs back when people had sense and didnt believe this new crap on cars would make things easier.....I use to take my car to get it fixed and they fixed it......now mechanics arent sure how to fix it....the rich pulled the old Ameri-greed over on you guys again!! 😒Yeah every once in a while you luck up and fix something! Its pathetic😎
