man, if I lived in LA, I wouldn't miss any of gigs in baked potato, It's like, one night CAB, next night Allan Holdsworth, next night Gambale and so on
virgil lives in the US now. The band that he is playing with here is called CAB. this was an amazing show I have seen him there like 12 times now and I always sit in the same spot, and I'll be sing him again this friday
We talked to him about drums, technique, tours. He's asked me how my playing is going about gigs Im doing, and he broke down a couple planet x grooves for me
with my experience he's been very nice, some night he's more talkative then others. When quantum just came out he broke down and showed me the intro to quantum factor in good detail. I haven't really talked to him about anything other then drums, but when I see him talking to other people, a lot of time its not about music.
@bonzo1989 just gotta get out there and make the effort to support local and overseas tallent when it does come your way. mainstream gets the public vote... but this stuff gets my vote and most likely yours...
it sucks that musicians of such great talent have to play in little clubs to like 7 people (exaggeration) and bands that have 1/10 of the talent play in front of thousands and make so much more money. mainstream is annoying me more and more
virgil d is a sick wicked solo drummer but i mean wheres the pocket? i like the syncopation and funky fills but constantly....sometimes less is more...i Miss D.C. :(
