I’ve always thought that Sebastian was super underrated and one of the best modern drummers. Having someone that is generally agreed to be one of the bests by other accomplished, and amazing, drummers join the band that you used to be in must be crazy!
Big band meets deep prog rock... a colorful fusion... brilliant! mind blowing! A truly unique sound and arrangement. Shredding monsters command every instrument. The playful, skillful and wise musicianship is grounded like Mt. Fuji. This is one of a kind. Bravo!❤ Thank you. ❤

To every comment that makes the Lanser Donati comparison: this piece is a total brainfuck. Lanser played it relatively safe; yeah, it sounded good, but Virgil is applying his unique language, and I'm pretty sure he's not reading shit. The main problem with Virgil is that he's trying to push himself to the limits of the human being both physically and mentally, and understanding what he's doing is just hell. If Sebastian almost made Panzerballett sound like they were playing 4/4 and everything had a sort of funny vibe, Virgil embraces the complexity of the songs and makes them really serious. They have different styles, and there's not a right one. Stop hating; there's too much to learn from. 🙌🙌 (yeah ☝🤓 go brr)
Oh man, this is amazing!! And what the hell is going on during the guitar solo? We come from triplets from the trumpet solo, and then? The director and musicians seem to be measuring pulses of four 16ths, but I find it hard to hear it in that context! Mind blown, gonna give it a few more listens, see if it clicks. Congratulations for the performance and composition!
Guys who commented: dont underestimate the complexity of the arrangement and to make it even more complex: mr Virgil Donati is improvising over the structure and plays many polyrhythms and tuplets and nested tuplets, as a pro drummer myself I can say its very very difficult to do, even more difficult it is playing with dynamics and a smooth feel on top of it.. All these players are very good pros ofcourse...And, yes Virgil is human, I heard one mistake of forgetting a rhythmic pattern and one rhythm in the bassdrums that was sloppy, but, who cares? It,s human and thanks to Virgil us drummers can learn the impossible and hope we can play half of it someday...:) Because technique is step one, being musical step 2, and improvise step 3...
Man, this band is insanely talented. They're almost inhuman - in a way that makes me hope evolution is taking the rest of us humans in their direction.... POSTCRIPT: someone please get everyone in this band laid. Twice.

I appreciate the effort of creating music to these high levels. I hope everybody can use and publish these records with the best quality possible. The video in your site is the same of youtube even when you clic on "full hd". 276 Mbytes for 8 minutes, when It should be 480 MB at least for real 1080p. I really hope it is only an error in the uploading and not a misconfiguration when you recorded it with your several cameras. Greetings@@NDRBigband
@ have you ever heard about compression? Maybe YT hasn't finished processing, usually videos take around 20 minutes until the full resolution is available. I can view it in 1080p50.

Virgil is a top 10 favorite of mine, but some of his musical choices…not into it. Loved the first 2 PB albums, I’ve hated everything since. I wish he was just in a band.
