Bravo Sinorita. That was very fun. every time I watch Arnold Schwarzenegger, I wonder how he became our Governor. But he did make great action films. I did see Total Recall in the theatre when it came out in 1990. of course I would say, since you like Arnold. You should watch Conan The Barbarian. It's the movie that put Arnold on the map. It's quite an epic. And Conan has the best music score of all Arnold's movies.

Trivia: The director of Total Recall (Paul Verhoeven) wanted the finale of the movie to be open-ended to the viewer. The blue sky on Mars at 33:48 was evidence that Quaid's entire story of being a spy and going to Mars was all part of his 'ego-trip' he signed up in Rekall earlier in the film. One of the techs mentioned before putting Quaid to sleep, "That's a new one, blue sky on Mars!" So once Quaid is put to sleep, the start of his ego-trip begins. However that does not account for why Quaid had such vivid dreams of Melina before going to Rekall. He was having suppressed memories of his previous life (as Hauser). So the evidence can be interpreted to both scenarios, depending on what you believe.

Come to think of it, she wasn't truly an evil woman in this movie. Rather she was just, ahh, misunderstood. That's it. She was just misunderstood. Poor, unfortunate woman.

The great thing about Arnold is that he embraces the corniness of his movies (the cheesy one-liners, his less-than-stellar acting, the constant need to take off his shirt)...it makes the whole thing endearing instead of lame.
Even now, he tries to slip in "I'll be back" into random conversations with people because he understands that even though it's a little cheesy, it's still pretty cool to have the Terminator say that to you.
    That's why he's a movie star.

The reason you sometimes hear Spanish in movies is that some Spanish words/phrases have made their way into American vernacular. This is, of course, because there is a large Spanish speaking population in the US as well as the fact that a whole lot of Americans have taken at least a couple years of high school Spanish and they only remember a handful of words/phrases. I took Spanish from middle school into college, but I didn't have the opportunity to immerse myself in it or practice it with anyone so I forgot about 90% of it.

Another facet of this is that Hollywood is located in Southern California where the demographics are much different than other parts of the USA, the higher Latino population there no doubt informs the industry itself and the culture of those making films. (IE where I live in the Northern US there are FAR FAR MORE Asians than there are hispanics/latinos for example so I probably dont hear Spanish as much as my fellow Americans from the South)

Total Recall was released in the Summer of 1990. It was based on Philip K. Dick's story We Can Remember It for You Wholesale. Arnold Schwarzenegger did act in comedies such as Twins(1988). Total Recall was remade as a PG-13 movie in 2012. The late, great Jerry Goldsmith composed the bombastic, avant garde music for Total Recall. Actress Sharon Stone was in Basic Instinct two years later.

I say, DON'T underestimate Arnold's acting. He did take some serious acting lessons before he came back after him being Governor (the movie, Demolition Man had that prediction down). Schwarzenegger's End Of Days (1999) showed that a little but his more recent ones, Maggie (2015), Sabotage (2014), and definitely Aftermath (2017) really showed more acting less action. Sabotage showing the most action.

Love your reactions. You're so animated and it's so hilarious. Someone with your personality would have been a great side-character for the old series "Dexter" from back in the day(2006-2013). It took place in Miami. It was about a forensics blood-spatter expert who worked for the Miami Police Department and also happened to be a serial killer who 'eliminated' hardcore criminals like murderers, rapist, pedophiles, drug-traffickers, etc. I have three movie recommendations, two Arnold comedies, 'Kindergarten Cop' and 'Twins.' The third movie is the drama 'Man on Fire' starring Denzel Washington who plays a former CIA agent who takes a job as a personal body guard to a little girl in Mexico City. All these movie are great and so are your reactions. Cuidese y hasta la proxima.

Such a good movie and i'm glad you enjoyed it. You mentioned Arnolds comedies and i think his best comedy is a movie called "twins". Perhaps you could include it in a poll at some point

6:20 Okay, now. Consider _this_ for a minute. When it came to which memories he could've had implanted, _these_ were his options:
    1) millionaire playboy
    2) sports hero
    3) industrial tycoon
    4) secret agent
Now this is being billed as a _vacation._ What's a typical vacation _length?_ A _week_ or two. That's it.
Now what's the most important thing to _have_ on a vacation? Money. This being the case, why in the world would you rather be a sports hero, an industrial tycoon or a secret agent than a millionaire _playboy?_
So why did he choose "secret agent?" 🤷

sorry to hear you're having so much trouble with the 'blocks'. This is a fun "Arnold" movie. The little possible twist at the end that it could all be in his head is a good way to wrap it up. A couple other funny ones for him would be Twins, or Kindergarten Cop.

Nearly all of it is old-school practical and optical FX and miniatures. The only CGI is the X-Ray security scanner
The one shot with Arnold on the people-mover on Mars is a miniature with a tiny movie projector inside it projecting the footage of Arnold in the train visible through the windows

So, was Arnold really a secret agent from Mars who saved the planet, or was he a construction worker from Earth who had a memory implanted of being a secret agent from Mars who saved the planet? Go back and rewatch the scene where the salesman at Rekall tells him what to expect in his fantasy vacation from himself. What was real, and what was the dream?
