When i saw the holes..... i cried..... the avocados will all die. You need to make raised dirt mounds with compost and mulch, and start over again with new seedlings. The whole crop should be replaced with new seedling avocados that will still have a tap root. If you dig them out the tap root will be cut in the process of the transplanting. If you bury the trunk it will die eventually from collar rot. If you plant it in a hole it will die eventually from root rot. This orchard is like some kind of nightmare scenario.
