    In our quest for seeking out a more healthy and sustainable lifestyle, we made a plan that includes zero waste living, tiny home living and full-time travel. We considered buying an RV, looked at trailers and airstreams but settled on doing a bus conversion for our off-the-grid, tiny house on wheels. We bought a 1996 MCI 102 D3 coach bus and with the Bus Demolition and Interior Shell complete, we turned it into our Tiny Home on Wheels and are now traveling!
    Some links are affiliate links and at no cost to you we may get a small commission that will help us cover the cost of travel.

    I think many of us are feeling the desire to leave the system of control we've been living in... You both are highly creative people and I have no doubt you can find your balance. 🙏

    Wish I had the perfect answer for you, but all I can think of is…..maybe you need to reduce the number of videos you post to every other week. It will make me sad, but I’ve often wondered how much you miss out on by always filming so we can see your adventures. Personally, I forget my camera when I’m truly in the moment and loving what I’m doing. But others absolutely love being cameraman. Perhaps you fall into this category. All I’m saying is that I applaud you for all you do but will support you with any decision you make that will help make you whole.

      Thank you for the love and support Gayla! We will be making some small changes to our scheduling to allow time for our passion projects and down time (to be in the moment). We'll still be here as we love making these videos

    You both need to just go at flip of coin to the direction you want to go IE north south east or west and take your time injoy being free with each other, you think about it you both are having your own time.

    Perhaps you might want to consider putting shades on those two original bus windows until they can be replaced. At least it would help with the heat.

    Thank you for the reflective moment, Don , I am about to finish work after 51 years. I resonate with your comment , ‘who am I now after building the bus…. ‘ for me it’s who am I after work . I am looking forward to that discovery and beginning another chapter in the book of life… can’t wait to see what your next chapter is like… enjoy 😊

    I spent my adult life flying helicopters. Summers were a write off since that is fire season. Camping in Canada at 40 below in winter is not much fun. I have found a new career for the time being. I got the 45 foot bus conversion. The problem is how to enjoy it. I am not the kind of person who can just sell my house and spend the next 20 years travelling in my bus. I wish I was. I have a fear to get old and not have a home to fall back on. I am still a slave to money and working but not to the extent I was 20 years ago. At least now I can plan time off and have some summer vacation. Some of the things you said struck home to me. How can some people survive on so little. Fuel, camping fees, repairs, insurance, etc, etc is not even close to free.

    The shades look marvelous. they don't spoil your views at all. I understand you wanting some alone time. these past couple of months you have been with a lot of people. (not that there's anything wrong with it ) but I think you built the bus to have your own journey, you have met some wonderful people but you need to have your own space to do what you want. I hope you find the balance you need

    Very cool place you got there, I really enjoy how open & honest you guys are, I would say though not having goals with planned time management while providing freedom takes away from the satisfaction of achieving your goals and in my case leads to procrastination & aimlessness, one day in sheer frustration at my lack of perceived progress on my build I was chastising myself for failing to achieve what I wanted done for the week, my wife pointed out to me that it's not even a year since we purchased the bus and she bought up the to do list on the computer & said browse through all the completed tasks, then came the realization that the build it's self was around 70% complete and in actual fact I was ahead of my own schedule! I think you guys are living the dream and all you need is a little fine tuning, you are a team and a great one at that, take a look back at all you have achieved and just live off that satisfaction for a bit, take care & stay safe.

    • @Rehabit8
      @Rehabit8  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Congratulations on getting so far along on your build. Different people need different things at different times of their lives. Don and I are no strangers to recreating ourselves again and again. One of the reasons I think we work so well together. We have the freedom right now to allow ourselves the time to recreate ourselves slowly and at our pace. It is a freedom we are now able to embrace. Thanks for your support :)

    Alone time is very important to me. I've been with my partner for 20 years, and as much as I love her, me personally I need "me" time. We found our balance I guess lol Enjoy, and thanks again for the video.

    I completely understand how you are feeling.
    We finished our build. Plan to live in bus and keep working and travel occassionally.
    I would leave and hit the road and figure things out as we go, as we do not have jobs that can work remotely. He, however, is determined to make it to retirement (4 yrs) and then build a shed to home conversion. We've only taken 1 trip it was a 13 hr drive each way. Had an unexpected death in the immediate family and had to return quickly and sooner than expected. I feel that trip ruined his out look on travel completely.

    • @Rehabit8
      @Rehabit8  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      oh no, I hope you are able to try another trip some time and have a different experience. The road is always so different each time. But also, full time travel isn't right for everyone. Hope you find a balance you both enjoy too!

    Don, stop in big cities where you can teach computer use to seniors or young people, there is a need given all the social accounts out there.
