Love it! My favorites: People Are People, Depeche Mode Cyndi Lauper Scritti Politti Mick Jagger, Ruthless People. I have not forgotten this one. The lyrics in the song are more true than ever. Keep the 45s coming. 😊
First things first, that's a great T-shirt! Thanks for mentioning Helen. That single was my introduction to Depeche Mode. Janet killed it with that song at the American Music Awards. Another great Prince B-side. True Blue is an underrated album in Madonna's catalog. Have a great weekend, Ed
Thanks! You had on a very cool Stax T shirt in one of your recent Single Series videos that stood out as well. I go back to True Blue more than some others myself. Enjoy the weekend as well, Mark. They go by too quick. 😎🎶
This series continues to summon the memories. Back on the Chain Gang is excellent! I have never seen the Silent Running sleeve. Very amusing! I don't thing I have ever heard Ruthless People. Some really cool records, even the last one 🙂
Thanks, Brian. It's fun to show this stuff, warts and all. Takes me back to dropping some of that hard earned cash from my first job on records every weekend. It was a simpler time!
Wow I didn’t know Bator was part of Sun City. I like these 80’s picture sleeves. Very nostalgic. My favorites here would be the Pretenders, Eurhythmics, Tina Turner, and the sexy picture of Madonna on back of sleeve. Nice job Ed.
Right? Neither did I! Been having a blast going back and playing a good number of these again. Part 5 will be out there soon. Appreciate the watch and comment, Gary! I am a big fan of 45's.
Love that True Colors sleeve, and song ! Your opener Back On The Chain Gang, and every other 7" you showed I do like😊 White City Pete cuts were my favorites back in '86 living on St. Thomas. Nice work, Ed
Thanks Jt! Looking at this stuff again has reminded me of shenanigans from years past. Ah, the 80's! Appreciate you taking the time to watch. Enjoy the weekend 😎🎶
Yes, the 80's were so much fun, too much fun that by March of 90 I called it quits on drinking and the other stuff ! Been there, done that.. Life is good !
Great video. That's one of my fave Pretenders songs. Nice Culture Club picture sleeve. Here Comes The Rain Again, so good. Hah "Rappin' Rodney"! I remember that. Just an FYI, In case you haven't seen it, in my last video Albums With Cars On The Cover, I mention you, as your response was one of the ones that inspired me to want to do it. Have a great weekend. Cheers
Thanks, Bobby! It's been a blast digging these out, and I'm actually playing quite a bit of them again. And, I appreciate the FYI: I have some channels/videos queued up to watch this weekend (yours being one of them), and I was unaware you mentioned me. I appreciate that! Looking forward to what you put together.
Unlike Rodney, this video is getting a lot of respect from this viewer! Thanks for making this vide, definitely a great trip in the way back machine! I stopped the video on several to listen do different songs that like you I forgot what they sounded like! Great job! Hope you do more like this! Best, Steve
@rallstonianmusicreport1975 Thanks for the watch and comment, Steve! I'm having a blast showing these and playing a good number of them again. Big fan of 45's, and I'm an '80's kid! Part 5 will be out there shortly 😎🎶
Ah, thanks, Craig! I knew you'd set me straight. Also, picking up my copy of Secret Sisters 'You Don't Own Me Anymore' on Saturday. I'll report back! 🎶😎
@@onmyturntable7036 I really hope you like it. There is a song called “ Mississippi” it’s sorta like the prequel to the song “iuka” from the previous record “Put Your Needle Down”.
Hi Ed, people are people is the song that launched my Depeche Mode journey. Great pretenders 45. Scritti Polliti perfect way I just never liked for some reason. Dreamtime/ Eurythmics / Tina Turner / Simple Minds all great. I think you are correct on information society but pure energy is great.
@vinylshawn4757 Thanks, Shawn! Yeah, here in the US, People Are People introduced a lot of Top 40 listeners to Depeche Mode. As for Information Society, Craig over at Craig's Vinyl.Plethora corrected me on that! Appreciate the watch! Part 5 will be out there soon.. 😎
Looks like you have a Japanese issue of Church of the Poison Mind? I have that 7" single, but mine is on CBS/Townhouse records and the flip side is "Man Shake." I have the Jets album - Crush On You is such a great song, and a great video too. I liked the Tom Jones version of Kiss. I thought he made a change in the lyrics which changed the meaning and I wonder how Prince felt about Tom changing "Women not girls rule my world" to "Women AND girls rule my world." But other than that change I thought Tom did a good job. Thanks for showing the records!
@RandallWeaver Hmm... interesting. A first pass makes it out to be a standard Pitman U.S. pressing - but sometimes you never know! I went to check my Discogs, and saw I never logged it. The plot thickens! I remember that Tom Jones cover of 'Kiss': he definitely made that his own! With Art of Noise, right? As always, appreciate the watch and comments, Randy 😎🎶 Sidebar: I've been hearing quite a bit of Bobby Hutcherson on Satellite radio lately. I'm looking for more when I'm out and about.
@@onmyturntable7036 oh yeah....Bobby was loved in the jazz world. Now I realize I was just looking at the Japanese characters on that picture sleeve you held up....without noting that my sleeve is exactly the same. lol

Cyndi Lauper
Scritti Politti
Mick Jagger, Ruthless People. I have not forgotten this one. The lyrics in the song are more true than ever.

Thanks, Catherine! Yes, I concur that those lyrics can still resonate. Don't worry, there's more! Have a great weekend. 😎🎶
