    Good job demonstrating to "everyone" that the pedals issue is juts a waste of time and they just get in your way sometimes thanks for this video !!!

    Hilarious! We need some e-scooter pedal-only races

    I think they put pedals on them so they are not considered motorcycles and therefore don't need a license, plate, or insurance in many parts of the world.

    Awesome. My first ebike ever was that easy to pedal. (Emmo Sabre) Had to pedal it over 5km and the was brutal. All my other ebikes ha there was no way what so ever lol. Cheers

    So what I'm gathering is some you can but you wouldn't want to do it for very long and others the pedals are more for show so plan your trip before you go and make sure you have some extra distance factored in the equation for things like hills or possible detours you might need to take just in case

    • @ridethewind
      @ridethewind  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. That's exactly it. You never want to pedal them.

  • @Ninja128-n8x

    I made my own scooter of the same size, I just moved the pedals to another field in front of where the feet are placed, and that way you can ride any scooter, you just need to know how to move the pedals and the other place and connect everything so that it works together

    • @ridethewind
      @ridethewind  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      But these are over 200lbs, why would you want to pedal it??

    • @Ninja128-n8x

      @@ridethewind why would you want me to not use it if it's electric so I don't use the battery and since I also have to exercise for my knee that I broke twice, I should pedal on every scooter and not only that, but it's also fun and you strengthen your muscles
      and you will be healthier and you will be able to pedal much harder on any scooter like me, all I can do is just wait for those pedals that are behind the scooter to be moved to which part you want and change so that everything is done by who and how it is
      and what can you change a little something of yours to make it easier to pedal, best regards :)

    • @ridethewind
      @ridethewind  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      True true, just thought a bicycle style would be easier

    • @Ninja128-n8x
      @Ninja128-n8x 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ridethewind yes, it's much easier on pedals, even if you know how to make the same model from a regular bicycle, scooter, anything, the engine and all the details, make a copy of it and ride on the pedals, plus add that it runs on electricity, that's the bomb, but make it a lot it's easier, I know it's easier to buy something, but if that model is heavier and can't be driven on pedals, then you make your own such a model, you just need to know what it's waiting for and here's a nice greeting, keep up the videos from me plus subscribe

      @@ridethewind no I haven't made a purchase yet. I've been exploring. I have narrowed it down to between the Merona or the Urban T2.
      Both are very different but would suit my needs. With the urban I am definitely worried about somebody stealing it. Regular bicycles get stolen all the time in my area. The Merona looks more like a scooter but the Urban looks closer to a regular bicycle. And I'm a little worried that people may think that they can just pick it up and walk off with it (as they would a reg. bike)... especially since both bikes aren't extremely heavy or anything.
      I'm most likely going to purchase a few months from now (maybe even early spring next yr) so I can save up to get the best possible battery. Hopefully there will be more riding/review/demo videos here on YT for these models. The official EMMO YT page doesn't have as much content as I would've liked 😪. I'm finding more content on older versions of the Urban (urban s and first models and barely any on the Merona) rather than the Urban T2.I did visit my local dealer with a friend who's buying an Emmo Zone and had some questions answered. Before that visit I thought I had my mind set on the Merona. Storage space is pretty important to me as well as a good screen display. But I couldn't take my eyes off the Urban T2.😅 Definitely need some time to think about everything still. Haha.

    So I have a question, in Ontario, the law requires them to have pedals to keep it “legally” a “bicycle”. These pedals are unusable, so they’re just for show? What’s the actual purpose of them with a chain?

    • @ridethewind
      @ridethewind  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The pedals are there so that these electric bikes qualify and are legal.

    • @its_gotta_be_kole

      @@ridethewind interesting, thanks. Are law enforcers allowed to ask us to prove the pedals are usable? Am I able to remove the pedals from the bike and replace them with a different style or longer bars? Can any regular bike pedal kits work on these?

      Yesterday, I saw a news story about a woman in Toronto that was riding a scooter just like the one in the video and fell off while trying to avoid an accident. The story kept referring to it as an ebike but I knew that this required working pedals. From the photo of the scooter, I couldn't figure out how anyone could pedal it - I guess it really can't be pedaled in a meaningful way.
