The holes are drilled on each piece @ 1 5/8” up from the bottom of each piece and from the back of each piece it’s 3/8” to the center of the hole . 1/4” drill bit . I totally forgot to include this info ! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Dude, this is the first time I've seen your channel and I love it! I just got a great idea for a variation too. I have a lot of friends/family who are book lovers. You could paint each piece of wood to look like a book, making all the hanger pieces the same color, but then varying the other book colors. Then it looks like a shelf with books on it. This might very well be my next build. Thank you!!!

    These could become light switches,
Take a low profile flat type light switch add something like this over it as a coat rack you show up to the room lower the coat rack and the lights come on, when you exit the room get your coat or hat and flip it up to turn off the lights.

Keeps it more low profile to the wall, which was essential in my small mudrrom. All my spacers and hooks are equal sizes too. I also had extra spacers that I kept to one side and drilled and installed dowels to make key holder pegs.

15:18 better yet, same look but doesn't fold out, instead you rout out a grove to install a magnet just below the surface to hold kitchen knifes on the wall, instead of just a magnet the wood thickness over the magnets going to have to be thin, and you might need 2 magnetic bars for larger knifes.
It would look like a cutting board.

Dead clever! I would suggest at least four books for a married couple, or any pair of people. Ideally, three hooks per person would be great. In the household of females, how grateful to be to hang your purse, your hat and scarf, your coat? In my brand, I would allow three for the first person to for the next person, then three then two as I expand it. That way there’s always an extra one for groups. Two people? Five hooks! For a family of four, that’s practically turning your entryway into a mud room without an expensive renovation! I am a proponent of beautiful wood, but totally basic wood scraps would suffice, particularly if you used stains or paint. Brightly colored elements would be wonderful for a children’s room. Stick to Roy G. Biv and it’ll be welcome anywhere.
I have one big question, which is the limitation, I see: how strong is this set up? If all these hooks were laid in with coats, because the gangs all here for game night, is the devil going to crack? Definitely totally utterly do not want that. But this is genius!

Thanks for the feedback , this will never crack , the coat racks that pull down are prevented from pulling down and breaking by the backer piece , the French cleat is the strongest method for hanging anything on the wall , it’s Bullet proof ! Skäl 🫡

Just touching back on build, so your version was the 2 outside pieces of 10"inches, were they walnut?. I noticed that in comparing it to the original they would have actually utilized those as hangars as well or am I mistaken and missing something here, as your maple becomes their fixed end. It was the count as you cut the pieces that threw me off as those 10"inch pieces are not mentioned when cuts are done. Just trying to acct. for all the pieces. OKAY MY MSITAKE: if anyone else missed it like i did, those 10"inch pieces are not part of the dowel section, they are fixed by the screws and then the maple is attached as well. Amazing what you can miss even after replaying numerous times to see what is puzzling you. Sorry Daniel , I'm very interested in what you do and maybe just being to intent.

Another great project my bearded friend. You might be the only online woodworker that hasn’t pushed cutting boards as your main business plan. 😂😂
Have your projects been selling like they were a few videos ago?
For your online sales do you build to order or do you stock several of each item?

My jewelry boxes on Etsy are all custom so their stocked in my storage until they sell , along with each individual item , but yes I do often do build to order items as well. I just sold 2 jewelry boxes yesterday and sold that bad ass modern shelf today ! 🙌 I’ll be going over the amount I got for that in the next video

didn't the original piece on line have the "hooks" tapered? I noticed you didn't taper them. That's more of a rustic look but a more refined look would be to taper those hangers tapered or rounded. Other than that great job.
