    How was this a SAD ending? She had a long successful career. Stupid. We should have such a sad ending.

      @doomo Not a sad ending, but rather unfortunate in that she was cheated out of a lot of hard-earned money by a con artist her family warned her not to get involved with. Like so many fading screen divas she was softened by the flattery showed which clouded her otherwise strong business acumen.

      It's just a clickbait title. Otherwise, it's a great tribute to her life. I didn't know anything about except her role in "Sunset Blvd" which is my favorite movie.

    I’m very proud that she is (was) the cousin of my grandmothers dad.

    What’s so sad about this? She had a pretty good life. Clickbait is so lame, as is this video.

    One of my favorites of the old Hollywood land. She originally wanted to be an opera singer. She sings in many of her early sound films just to herself or in the background while doing something.

    She also played herself in all her diva-like glory in the film Airport '75, along with Myrna Loy, Linda Blair and Helen Reddy.

    Jocelyn Carter: Gloria had a very long career. The only I film I saw her in was Sunset Boulevard. Excellent! Fabolous! I loved the film and her! Classy, the long eyelashes was to die for! Rest peace, Gloria. I'm sure your closeup was on point!

    She should have got an Oscar for “Sunset Strip.” An eternally awesome and excellent performance!

    Surely Gloria was sixteen in 1915

  • @Handiman544
    @Handiman544 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    How could She be 18 in 1915. This guy said she was born in 1899. From 1899 to 1915 is 16 years. He apparently can't add and mispronounces so many famous people's names incorrectly. She needs to brush up on this research before he attempts these videos.

      @J KK 1899 is normally given as Swanson's birth year, however there is a consensus that she (like Doris Day) was actually 2 years older than previously thought.

    This video completely missed the fact that she studied in Puerto Rico, not Chicago. Her military father was deployed to the island, that’s where she grew up, and she spoke perfect Spanish.

    It wasn't a sad ending! How rude! I did a past life regression and my spirit is Gloria Swanson! I had a great life, thank you very much!

    • @RyanCarterVonArad

      Hi,
      I want too to do a past life regression, I want to find out who I was in the past life.
      Also, I want to ask you, do you remember something about your past life? I mean experiences or certain feelings or even thoughts? (I am referring when you are conscious not under hypnoses)
      In case you have some vivid memories about your past life as Gloria Swanson (And of course if you are not joking with this), I want to tell you I just watched today the movie Sunset Boulevard, and lately I watch black and white movies because I want to go back in time. And if could truly go back in those times, definitely I would be glad to meet and talk with Gloria Swanson....

    If she was only sixteen years younger she would have been perfect to play the part of Gladys Aylward in the movie "The Inn of the Sixth Happiness" especially since she's about the same height.

    Someone thinks this movie should be remade for the younger generation. No way could someone capture the same essence of a forgotten silent film star. It would never have the same impact.
    Don't do it please!!!

    • @KabobHope
      @KabobHope ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am with you on this. It shouldn't be remade. It actually already has -- but, as a stage play.
      It's a timeless story so I'm sure it will get remade at some point. It's interesting that Swanson/Desmond had been washed up for years until Sunset Blvd. Many women act well beyond 50 to great acclaim.

    Jesus Christ is coming back very soon! It will be a joyous event for those whom receive and believe in His death, resurrection and imminent return for His children. Receive Jesus Christ RIGHT NOW! Allow Him to completely transform you and make you anew. Time is running out so don't delay. Jesus is patiently waiting with open loving arms for you to receive Him completely as your Savior and Deliverer.
    Acknowledge that you are a sinner in need of our Savior. Confess with your mouth and believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord of your life. Welcome Abba Yahweh (Father God) through Yeshua (Jesus the Christ) into your life. Receive grace by believing in Jesus Christ and what He did on the cross, His death, burial and resurrection for the sins of all human-kind. You will then be justified in salvation and forever blessed with His abundant love by the Holy Spirit!
    May God bless you in the Glorious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior.❤️❤️❤️ (Matthew 24 : 30-39; Matthew 16 : 27; Romans 8 : 39; Psalms 34 : 17-19; Deuteronomy 31 : 6)
