Shutting down these government buildings is a huge problem for many reasons. Its really astounding that we pay for these places and employees and legislate transparency yet they keep hiding behind all kinds of ridiculousness. Bring these people back to work and open our buildings back up to us. Without us there is no government and the entire system doesnt work. Keep up the good work IAMFREE.

I have seen this exact same thing happen on Audit Them's UTube channel. Employees do NOT understand that there's certain records that HAVE TO BY LAW BE AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION IMMEDIATELY UPON REQUEST. They just cannot comprehend this & try to make people fill out record requests & wait 5 days or whatever the alloted time period is. I've seen auditors try so hard to get them to understand it's not a record request but Managers are very stubborn & think auditors are mistaken. It's frustrating!

If a particular employee can work from home, I don't have any problem with that. But they need to have at least an admin and records custodian available during business hours so that the public can get service. And if that means they don't need a 50,000 square foot building, sell it and move into more modest accommodations. But since government will never willfully decrease in size, that' won't happen.

You'd think that if they were really worried about a person being a threat to the building, instead of following them closely, they would wait outside till he left, so if something did happen they could call for help and inaccurately describe the person to the police, who would also wait outside with them until the danger was taken care of by someone else. I don't think anyone in that building is in good enough physical shape to handle taking down someone who's a real threat.

This is so sad, but I'm enjoying this evolving story like a tv series. The topic is sad, but you're doing an amazing job. They should be held accountable for not knowing anything about the laws that regulate them as much as we would be held accountable, prosecuted, punished for every slight misstep. Ignorance of the law is not an excuse both ways.

It is very common for public servants to lie and mislead the public when they have very little knowledge of the law & their job knowledge. They refuse/mislead services, send them away disappointed and still in need of services. Keep up the good work!

I tell you it's a good thing a little ol'person from the public can tell our government workers what the laws are. My question is, what if you didn't check up on them does anyone think they would be better? They should be prepared for the public at anytime but it seems they haven't tried that hard yet. The behavior and ill-informed nature of many public workers is they have forgotten exactly who they work for, which seems to be the biggest contributor to the problems that plague government entities. Thank You Steve for helping all of us, we need more people like you for sustainable future.

This blew my mind how can a binder, or information that suppose to be sitting in a office, that anyone from the public can come and review at any time have it already prepared be a request. But because your home and a citizen can’t even have access to the office someone who doesn’t even work that possibility comes down and you have to do business in a public lobby. Where is the professional! Not know anything about the information feel you need to find it and request it and given 5 days to reply. This is general information already provided and readily available and should be available at any time how in the word can anyone get confused on simple and common sense.

For any public employees reading these comments, you’ve all brought this on yourselves. The inability or unwillingness to have basic and cordial interactions with the public is what prompted these audits. Whether you’re a cop or a secretary, you all signed up for these cushy, overpaid government jobs. You get all the benefits and privileges and still can’t be appreciative of the positions you’re in. Figure it out and start behaving accordingly or more and more people will start exercising this particular right, which in turn means more headaches for you.

It never fails to amaze me just how spacious and luxurious these public buildings are - and just how little use the public gets from these governmental "monuments." Fortunes are spent by We the People, and fortunes are made by those that contract with the government. (And I'm sure that those contracts are never directed towards the friends, family and associates of those who are responsible for granting those contracts.)
Just imagine what that facility must have cost to build (and imagine the size of the profit - and possibly bribes associated with it). The maintenance costs are another area that could hide a wealth of embezzled funds.
Sadly, most of the citizens will never be able to afford a home that is anywhere near as nice, but these buildings and furnishings seem to be common for the government.
The larger (more costly) the government project, the greater the likelihood that money is being siphoned off unlawfully. The public would have no proof that 10% or so of that funding has vanished... That is why the government LOVES big projects! Just something to think about.
When you steal from one person, it is called larceny - when you steal from many, it is called government!

Also, don't forget (under ISO, Document Control there must be a change/revision control sheet likely showing reason for revision, distribution, date of revision, revision approvals(s), removal of previous revision, etc etc. I'm sure if there was an active Quality Department they would be trained & qualified including doing their own internal audits within the whole building. Many years in the quality auditing biz.
    P. S. Make sure you study their Mission Statement that is normally proudly displayed in their lobby.
Another great video. Cheers from sunny Florida.

Excellent audit. Now you need to create a checklist form so that other gov. agency audits you tell them that you will be reporting the violation of the law to the AG and you will be requesting that specific agency be fined and you receive a check in the mail for violating your rights.

Wow thank you for the update and please continue with all the updates even if they're minimal updates, IT is important in these kinds of things.
again thanks for the time that you put into this.
how you guys find the time to do the things that you do in these audits is amazing to me.
it's AN exhausting amount of dedication and sacrifice on your end, and I would imagine it must carry over and overlap in your personal lives with friends and loved ones if you even have the time for a love life, I don't know how one could find the time to one develop intimate relationships and then maintain those because being married for over 20 years I know this that it is the biggest job of all the jobs I have ever had and that's maintaining that bond in that relationship and keeping it solid and not taking your eyes off that ball, and so to do the auditing with any degree of consistency and commitment it's an amazing undertaking and an Indescribable amount of dedication on so many levels that people just don't take into consideration and I'm certain many levels that I don't even take into consideration cuz I'm not doing it, but if I put myself in your shoes even for a moment I realize the amount of work and dedication and sacrifice that is required even on the most basic level in doing these Audits and for you guys that really Hammer way at it, holy shit man, it's got to be just tiresome after a while, LOL like after the first week dude. it's got to be tiresome. thanks again
