It’s probably not the best idea to put it in the cab with you. I’m sure any firefighter or emt has a story of responding to a rollover where a jack or toolbox became a projectile smashed that persons face in. I’d keep it in a truck box if you had one.
If you hook a trailer almost every day like I do....that would be a pain in the ass, I did that for 3 months and eventually it became blah. Now I leave it in my receiver.
I have this hitch and you’re right, it’s a pain in the butt to put it in stow mode. Also, wish they made a single ball configuration, my 2” ball always drags the concrete with my low trailer.
Just picked up the same B&W yesterday. I’m super pleased with it. The fit and finish is impeccable, and it gives me 1” adjustability, and USA made to boot. B&W all the way.
They truly are the best hitches made. I've owned one for many years. The only advice I could add is if you live in the north where snow and salty roads are the norm from November- March, be sure to either remove it or spray with silicone frequently
I coated the inside of the truck receiver and the hitch sleeve itself with a high grade marine bearing grease the day I bought my truck and hitch. Every so often I clean it all out and reapply. My truck is 6 years old and I live in upstate NY...the road salt capital of the world. I still have no rust on the useable portion of either the receiver or the sleeve. Sure, it's dirty and cruddy as hell but it's all trapped in the grease. No rust. It's a bit of maintenance a few times a year but worth it. Hitch slides in and out nicely every time.

I knew that the first time I looked at it. More interested in the slop factor. I know how to get rid of the slop in the shank, but what about the ball and adjustment pins?
If you own 1 trailer and pull twice a year, this ain’t for you. I’ve had the same hitch thru 3 trucks and it’s worth every penny. If you have multiple trailers it sure makes things easy when you gotta adjust the height or ball size.
I also appreciate a review from someone who actually uses it. I had to find my way through a couple reviews from people who hadn’t used it yet but posted reviews.
Do you happen to know the height to the bottom of your hitch receiver? It's 18" on my F-150 and I'm trying to figure out which size drop to get the most flexibility without running the risk of scraping.
