It's funny how subjective music is, because I feel the exact opposite. I think Kurt sounded bored and half-hearted in 1994, and I feel like Kurt's vocal performances, energy and enthusiasm were at their peak from mid-1990 to late-1991. It's weird how two different people can hear the exact same thing and come to two completely opposite conclusions about it.
@@wackadoodle8951 Likely softer, as Kurt said they'd change their sound in the future, listening to Do Re Mi, I think it would sound like that. I'd assume more songs like something in the way, and dumb.
To be fair, Kurt obviously wasn't very consistent with vocals nor did he really care most of the time (dig up Live Tonight Sold Out for some examples ie: Come as you are) not to mention him tearing his voice apart so there really isn't so much of a "voice change" as much as "catching Kurt on a day where it doesn't sound like he was a dying yak" I love Kurt no doubt, but some of the shows (aside from the Rio show) are terrible to watch and it's not his fault bronchitis and chronic illness will do that to a person.
i dont think his voice necessarily change I think he changed key in which the song was presented in in the 90s sounds higher key then to 94 it was lower key for the song that was probably to protect his voice and more or less strenuous for him to do more concerts also depression toward the end of 93 for music. the first video clip he didnt really have vocal coaching you find before really recording second he was more structured on vocal movement and Kurt was at a concert to have fun himself he wanted to party it always seems that he wanted something different the change what's mainstream
No, it is about simplification: on the studio recordings Bleach and Nevermind there are various tunings: E, drop D, drop C, D. From 1992 they played everything (and recorded In utero) in D# tuning (the drop songs in drop C#). So many of the songs are played in half step lower (like in bloom, teen spirit...), and many in half step higher (lithium, come as you are).
My opinion is that they are at their peak in 94 and sound super tight all around. I love the last tour

The peak was in 1991 for energy but sound wise was early 1993
I often wonder what Nirvana would've been even if Kurt had only been around another 2 or 3 years.

@@inutero2068 any way this song is beautiful too, in the band version I think it would be pretty much different than the recorded version

my hero...the reason why i play guitar and love rock! 🤘🎸
1991 the best
1994 sounds the best
grohl was an absolute beast on the drums
From what I can tell, it's more about how good a day he is having than his voice permanently changing.
yeaaa in bloom !
your videos are always great, especially this voice change series :D
They all sang on the last part.... so sad Kurt was gone , Krist's life was miserable then Grohl affected his life of that suicide...
1994 was the best
i m am crying for kurt
out of all of these- 93 and 94 are the best :)
Never was a fan of the different sound in the guitar in the bass during 1992 too 1994 , but this 1994 in bloom sounded beautiful.

He was probably hit or miss depending on how strung out he was on a given night as well.

It’s more precious and valuable
