Voyage of Promise - Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (Fanmade Super Smash Bros. Remix)

- I was commissioned to remix a song from Bloodstained in the style of Smash Ultimate! I was really excited to take on a song from this series - the Bloodstained games have amazing soundtracks, composed by many musical alums of the Castlevania series! Seeing that the games have a lot of the heart and soul of Castlevania, I thought it would make sense to draw inspiration from Ultimate's amazing Castlevania remixes - so I tried to capture the iconic gothic rock-orchestra style the series is known for!
This remix is a bit different than my previous ones in terms of the approach I took with the arrangement. It doesn't originate from older hardware, so I didn't have to "modernize" it with more realistic instruments or add any more complexity to the song. And I didn't need to make major changes to the song in order for it to be suited for Smash either - the original song already has the energy and intensity for a Smash battle. So, I just tried to create a somewhat different but tasteful take on the original song, adding my own flourishes and ideas here and there. The biggest way I made it feel distinct was to incorporate the bassline from the Curse of the Moon version, "Sunder the Night" - I think that helped it feel like a "new" take on the song! But my goal wasn't to "improve" the original, rather I just wanted to create a new rendition in the vein of a remix we might hear in Smash Ultimate.
Also, I know that Bloodstained isn't part of the Castlevania series and thus a song would be categorized as "miscellaneous" in Smash, but it just felt wrong to have the song playing over any other stage besides Dracula's Castle!

They’d never do this, but God, I wish they would.
Honestly, why is Miriam not in Smash? We get crossovers from a whole bunch of technical fighters to draw in exactly the crowd Smash _wasn't_ made for, but so many characters that would be great additions get passed up.
Because she's an indie character.
Smash focuses mainly on Triple A games, and Indies are sadly only included via Spirits, Mii Costumes and Assists.
@@marcelleandrade6255 Shame, since the indie scene has been doing so much better than AAA lately.

Maybe if they ask Koji Igarashi, then it would be a different scenario for our girl Miriam
Because they haven't talked it with the bloodstained team
How does this only have 6.2k views? This is a wonderful remix on Voyage of Promise. Clear inspirations from other CV tracks in here too. Stupendous!
Very remniscent of Bloodlines, loved it!
I really appreciate the slap bass slapping me in the face with it's bass
This is so beautiful! It might be even better than the original version.
Incredible job pixel! Love the rock/orchestra fusion. Those guitars and soaring strings sound awesome - and that bass, heck yeah! I love what you did with it :)
Thanks Matthew!! Glad you like it!
THIS IS SO COOL!!! WHY IS IT SO UNDERRATED!!
That bassline tho.
My favorite bloodstained ritual of the night track
Nice job!
Nice!!
Thank you!!!
The theme actually debuted in Circle of the Moon, still nice remix.

"pixeltea" May I borrow your Soundtrack Bloodstained? I'm going to use this soundtrack to make a soundtrack in Spiral Knights Castlevania Soundtrack of course for free! Please feel free to use it! If there's anything to say... I can do it. D=)
Electric bass guitar is way too aggressive in certain parts
