- Like many fans, I was a little bit disappointed that no classic Minecraft songs were remixed in Ultimate - so, I decided to try my hand at remixing Sweden in the style of a Smash remix! Sweden is one of the most nostalgic and iconic Minecraft songs to me.
This remix was inspired by the Minecraft remixes we got in Ultimate (particularly Halland / Dalarna), Cory Wong's song "Ellie", and Ben Folds' album "So There."
I can't guarantee it will be a super frequent thing, but I definitely want to do more Smash-style remixes like this!

Still so disappointed to see the lack of C418 remixes in Smash...half of my excitement for Steve in Smash was because we'd finally see some official remixes of the original music.
Me too. I still don't understand why they (Nintendo/ Sakurai) didn't call him ( C418) to do something similar with Tobey Fox and Grant Kirkhoper (sorry if I'd spelled that wrong) I really was expecting to see if not a new remix the already remixed versions of "Cat" and "Sweden" used for the Minecraft Console Legacy Edition trailers (which by the way are official)
@@edwardgamerx9061 They must have had good reasons. Sakurai did say sorry they did not get any tracks from the original Minecraft.
Most likely a legal issue with Microsoft.
Actually it was probably c418 I don't think they pay the owner of the character or music for the dlc so c418 wasn't happy with that and didn't let them use his music apparently he's been like this before from what I here a true shame this was minecrafts biggest moment
@@edwardgamerx9061 according to the Japanese version of the Sakurai presents it was actually C418 who declined, since he does not like being known as the Minecraft Composer it really is a shame.

This right here is what we should've gotten for the reveal, even though the Halland/Dalarna cover really rocks.
I expected swift decent to be part of his playlist, i even thought it would be his trailer theme, despite it being from the minigames, we did not receive swift decent
Late, but the reason they couldn't use Any of the original Minecraft music is due to the music belonging to C418, As much as I would have loved to hear a smash version of Sweden or Wet Hands sadly that won't happen, only fan made creations
True that would've been great, yes. But I wouldn't be surprised if C418 didn't want to allow the rights. Composers like them I understand, for copyright. Still, Halland/Dalarna is still fantastic.

As much as I love the Minecraft music selection we have, I would really love the original game's music to be remixed for Smash like this.

No, Sakurai would've enjoyed this. He said on Japanese Twitter that the reason they couldn't get any tracks from Minecraft itself was because of copyright issues.

You've nailed the smashifying of the original perfectly ^_^ I love how it starts off fairly faithful to the original and then progresses into a richer, fuller arrangement (those drums though? And then the breakdown section the end with the guitars and horns? Amazinggggggg) I'd love to hear your takes on other amazing songs in the smash style!

I love how it fits more of a playful experience background song rather than something strong like Halland/Dalarna, regardless it fits as a background of a Smash match perfectly.

I can’t believe I’m only just now discovering your channel, all your work is great! You did a great job adapting this into something energetic enough for Smash!
There are only seven Minecraft songs in Smash Ultimate, and six of them are remixes.
The only Minecraft songs that I care about in Smash Ultimate are Halland / Dalarna, Glide, and Toys on a Tear.
There aren't any Sweden, Aria Math, Mice on Venus, Oxygène, or Équinoxe remixes in Smash Ultimate because those songs are owned by C418, and C418 is more stingy than Square Enix.
This is such a banger, love it. My one minor problem is that I'm not sure how well it would work in the context of a fast paced fighting game, where the song always has to match what's happening on screen, I. E, tone, speed, etc. That's the problem with writing video game music.
Next SSBU game we'll get this remix...

I understand how disappointed we are that there's no remixes already made, but C418 is pretty strict on usage of his music, which is his only form of income.

Honestly, I've lost the original project file so I can't go back and check 😅 but if I remember correct I used Shreddage's drum kit, plus 8dio's Epic Toms Ensemble
