Also Banjo is indeed the *perfect* hight to motorboat Mrs. Boggy. I’m only slightly anticipating someone to draw Lucah saying something like “the perfect hight.*
To answer the question on getting the cheats early: You can get them early without having to turn in your pages to Cheato, however you have to input: "Cheato" followed by the cheat you want spelled *backwards* to get it. For instance I believe the next cheat he gives you is "Eggs." If you input "cheato" followed by "sgge" you can unlock it early. I do not know if the Xbox version will lock you out of achievements for getting the cheats this way.

Those pizza throwing machines can only be defeated by either shooting grenade eggs at them or using wonderwing (the move that uses gold feathers). There's a third way as well, but I think you'll figure that one out later.

Like Jon, Witchyworld is one of my favorite levels in the game. It's big like Tooie's other worlds, but it's dense and basically impossible to get lost in. Plus it's got so much fun and games! And Lucah had the right idea right off the bat with switching to solo Kazooie immediately, because solo Banjo can't do shit. He literally can't fight enemies at the start, and he won't get anything to help with traversal for quite a while. And I've noticed Lucah's being stingy with Grenade Eggs for someone who likes to poop so much. Refilling eggs is effortless in Tooie, and grenades solve a ridiculous number of problems, so poop away!
Fun background info that I remembered when Lucah sang the Mayaham Temple song in the beginning of the video: The voice in the song is actually Grant Kirkhope, who wrote the soundtrack for this game, saying "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough".
Good to see you two back! 5:50 Way more convenient than in Banjo-Kazooie where you have to insert the code each time you want to turn a cheat on/off. One of my favorite parts of this stage is how each area within it has its own music, and they all flow seamlessly together as you move from one to the next. The soundtrack is always a highlight for me, but this part in particular is even more impressive!
i have played this game since 2000. The workers in spaceland are wearing an alien mask and i never realized that. i thought it was 2 different workers, a rat and a green alien
To answer the questions on the cheat penalty if someone gives it to you. If you try and enter the cheat before you get it then it won't work and you get the bzzt error. However, if you enter the word CHEAT (It might be CHEATO) and then the word BACKWARDS (So for example (CHEATSREHTAEF or CHEATOSREHTAEF) then it would work, but in the Xbox versions you'd be penalized
Spiral Mountain - the cartridge in the waterfall cave Jinjo Village - a treble clef note (near Jamjar's silo tunnel) GGM - Mine entrance 3 shed (near train station) Unobtainables: SM - Kazooie rock at waterfall's base. GGM - Space Box, Kazooie rock in waterfall cavern, Jinjo in Water storage, waterfall near crushing shed. WW entrance - Kazooie rock in the water. the WW rat employees sounding like cartoon DK is cursed and hilarious, i'm glad i can think of this now. some tips: since diving and swimming transition seem to be botched, a habit to circumvent the confusion of it may be to dive without pressing anything for a second or two and then swimming around. something i do in terms of controls is i don't really think about "oh [button name] does this" instead i associate the position of the buttons with the action it will do, so instead of to the left of jump (A) being N64 B or Xbox X it's just: left of jump button is attack button, ect. though the c buttons would have to be associated with direction if on the joystick (which is honestly, not a great solution for what were actually buttons before) so up is shoot and down is poop, right is bright like a flashlight and left is... walk fast? idk, i ran out of rhymes. [↓ Spoilers below ↓] The codes, if you knew their names, would require you to spell out CHEATO and spell the cheat name backwards in order to gain access. Madame Grunty has a chance to give out a cheat code that tells you how to get every Jiggy on the signs in the Jiggy temple, it's completely random. (if i had to guess, this is probably a no achievements code) Since the Jinjo in GGM has to be gotten from W4, you could get the Kazooie rock (and possibly others) in the same "trip" although you would have to take the long(er) way back to W4. imo I'm not so sure that the split fundamentally changes the game compared to the first game, just adds more "keys"/solutions to "locks"/missions so to speak (plus, if it wasn't fixed in XBLA, Banjo's jump can absolutely break vertical movement which is fun to mess around with personally speaking)
WitchyWorld at last! Always been one of my favorites, alongside a much later world (and that one's thanks to a specific baddy, but we'll get there when we get there) and it's so great to see folks explore it themselves! Regarding Madame Grunty's tent, there is one specific thing you can only do there, but it's completely optional and random whether or not you get it. I decided to write down the number of visits it took me as part of a blog post and it came out to 47 visits. I did this all in one sitting, just went in and out until she gave me what I needed, but I don't know if that's something you care to show off in the videos. If you'd like I don't mind just saying what it is but I also don't want to spoil it for you. Either way, glad to see you two are doing better!
So about the cheats: I'm unfamiliar with the Xbox version, but in the N64 version you could type "CHEATO" and then the name of the cheat but *backwards* and you'd be able to get not only any of the cheats early, but also a couple of cheats that you wouldn't normally be able to get at all! (Note: My faulty memory might have gotten that last part wrong, it's been quite a while since I last played it)
Lucah meeting Mrs. Boggy was everything I wanted it to be like. Remaining collectible requirements and locations (for sake of helping Lucah and Jon) **Spiral Mountain/Isle O' Hags** *Jinjos: 1(?)* 1(?): Wooded hollow, end of digger tunnel (did they already get this one in this version?) *Other* Game Pak: Behind Spiral Mountain waterfall (Requires Grip Grab) Mystery Eggs: Visiting Heggy's Egg Shed in Wooded Hollow with Stop N' Swop eggs **Mayahem Temple** Complete! **Glitter Gulch Mine** *Jiggies: 2* 1: Power Hut Basement (Split-up recommended) 2: Behind the Waterfall (Springy-step required) *Jinjos: 1* Water Storage (via World 4 connection) **Witchyworld** Literally everything save for 2 moves and some notes. I'll wait until they get a bit further in before specifically pinpointing what they have left.
Yay, Lucah's back! I might edit this comment after I actually watch any portion of the video but I'm thrilled to see you've posted and hope things are looking up for you!
Yahoo! The Stop N Swap is amazing. I am currently feeling the pain of the inverted controls, but for a different reason later on. But yes, Witchyworld is fun in its own way.
If you think this place is deserted, you should see Euro-Witchyworld. Finally getting the Split-Up move, resulting in many new abilities for both Bear and Bird. I think Banjo actually gets the better deal here, though not for a while yet.
6:13 To answer your question about inputting cheats before learning them from Cheato, you can, but there's a different way of doing so. You can't just go type "FEATHERS" without learning it first. To put in those cheats early, or any other cheat you wouldn't be given at all, you start by typing "CHEATO" (yes "Cheato", not "cheat" like in the first game) and then you spell out the code backwards. So in the case of this one, you'd input "CHEATO SREHTAEF" to get the feather doubling cheat.
Witchy world is my favorite place in the game and I’m so happy you got to meet the wife of a certain polar bear. Now here is what the game doesn’t tell you about the split up pads. If one of them dies then they return to the pads they split up from. This can be good to fast travel if you don’t want to walk all the way back to the pads. So if you don’t want to walk back then just jump off a cliff.
Ligma being on the mind is just the natural state of being. And so we arrive at Witchy World! Kazooie seems to be a fan of the gross food, guess Banjo's not the glutton between them despite his large size and lazier behavior. Maybe Kazooie's just gotten lazy since Banjo-Kazooie after adventuring tired her out, and also Bottles died at the beginning of this game which is kind of annoying.
SUPER RIDICULOUS RNG THING IN WITCHYWORLD! If you enter Grunty's hut, there is a very very VERY tiny chance she will give you a cheat--the only legit cheat you can get outside of Cheato pages. The GetJiggy cheat will activate the signs inside JiggyWiggy's temple; the signs contain hints for where to find every single jiggy in the game. Since Jon's played this before, you may not need it, but it's a cool thing to know.
To the question asked at the start of the video, you CAN put in Cheato's codes without him telling them to you BUT you have to spell out 'Cheato' beforehand for them to register, and some of them may require you to spell them out backwards (however I think that might make them like the cheats that mess with your save data or whatever it was Jon was saying some cheats do to your file) Also, with the button under the bell in Witchyworld, you have to hit it with three different moves (simple ground pound, Beak Drill and Grenade Eggs) within the time limit to get the bell to the top. But be careful not to detonate it too close to yourself.
OMG IT DOES SOUND LIKE DONKEY KONG FROM THE CARTOON! I watched every episode of the show AND played through this game several times, and I never made that connection. I cannot unhear it now.
Witchyworld was always my favorite as well. In the whole series, to be honest. And hopefully it won't be so rough on Lucah since the whole Disney World pinwheel layout makes it pretty easy to navigate.
Regarding the Cheats subject: You may only use cheats you get in-game without some kind of penalty. However, you may activate them before learning them as well as a handful of other cheats that are never told to the player, doing these early or secret ones will cause saving and achievements to be disabled. To use early or secret cheats you must first spell CHEATO, then the corresponding cheat backwards (CHEATOSREHTAEF). After the word cheato, letters will not light up but will confirm their activation once you finish.
That new move that allows you to shoot eggs is extremely necessary for the boss fight in Witchy World. In the N64 when you shoot eggs in first person there was a bit of homing-esque that the eggs had when you shoot them. Also I think like half of the bosses you have fight in first person, or makes them easier
Like Jon said, the split pad was the main gimmick of Banjo Tooie and was the main focus in its advertising, and speaking of that, I'd LOVE to see you guys watch the original N64 Banjo Tooie commercial from the giant foam suits era. It's the best. :D
Someone may have already answered but you can use any cheats only difference is you have to spell cheato first then spell the cheat backwards. When you finish spelling it jamjars will warn you that saving will be stopped as you didn't get the cheat the intended way. Then you have what are known as "illegal" cheats which again spell cheato then put them in forwards. Sorry this is alot hopefully it's not too confusing.
Witchyworld is fun. Its a theme park level...but themed around being a shitty, awful place that rips you off and sells shitty food. Bcause its owned by the game's main villain. it's very different : 3
Airborne Egg Aiming N64: Shooting eggs defends bird and bear, So why not fire them in the air! Up-C gives you the aiming sight, Then press Zed to shoot from height!
24:35 Madame Guntry has a slim chance to reward you the cheat to read the signposts in Jiggywiggy's template, which reveals the locations of all the Jiggies. Very useful in the N64 version, but since the Xbox version comes with its own menu dedicated to listing where the Jiggies are, it's basically useless now.
So, fun fact about cheats: you can type any of them in at any point in the game, whether you’ve learned them or not. If you’ve learned them, you only need to type it regularly. If you know it ahead of time, you can spell “CHEATO” on the board, and then type the code backwards. This is what I always did as a kid to make Banjo faster (game runs at a crawl on the N64), get regenerating health (cause I was bad) and unlock all the worlds early.
Yea witchyworld is cool! Not my favorite world like a lot of people, but it is up there. Also, the cactus puzzle might be a bit awkward with the Xbox controls (and even as it is it doesn't make much sense) But yeah really looking forward to you seeing this. Also, gold feathers are pretty much always a trump card if nothing else seems to be working to kill. Also I could be wrong but I think in this world, random stop honeycombs are more common than in any other world, kinda fitting in with the theme park/games of chance theme
So far if I can remember this world well, there are 2 moments where you have to revisit Witchy Witch World. Maybe 3 since one of those revisits needs a move for a different side quest and the other needs a new move that’s a few worlds later.
Nice drill recovery, if you ever want to purposely drop down in extreme high places: Tap the ground pound button and bounce off the edge so Banjo does a T pose while falling
Fun Hint: There's a small chance Madame Grunty will give you a super secret cheat code to use in the Mayahem Temple. You just have to go in a bunch of times.
I don’t know if this will help or not, but I find it so much easier to fly and swim in first person view. Also, hold r for quick turning in water and in the air.
Honestly, I'm surprised at all the positive comments toward WitchyWorld. I may not remember Tooie perfectly, but I remember this world being my least favorite of the tooie worlds (besides the mayaham world, I think). Although I did like that special transformation outside WitchyWorld, and I don't remember my opinion on the boss here.

"Ma'am, I am the perfect height to motorboat you!!"-Lucahjin 2022
16:40 The way you said that is so funny to me for some reason.
I admit, Witchyworld is one of the worlds I had the most fun in! It’s also got my fave boss!
Spiral Mountain - the cartridge in the waterfall cave
Jinjo Village - a treble clef note (near Jamjar's silo tunnel)
GGM - Mine entrance 3 shed (near train station)
Unobtainables: SM - Kazooie rock at waterfall's base.
[↓ Spoilers below ↓]
The codes, if you knew their names, would require you to spell out CHEATO and spell the cheat name backwards in order to gain access.
Madame Grunty has a chance to give out a cheat code that tells you how to get every Jiggy on the signs in the Jiggy temple, it's completely random. (if i had to guess, this is probably a no achievements code)
Since the Jinjo in GGM has to be gotten from W4, you could get the Kazooie rock (and possibly others) in the same "trip" although you would have to take the long(er) way back to W4.
imo I'm not so sure that the split fundamentally changes the game compared to the first game, just adds more "keys"/solutions to "locks"/missions so to speak (plus, if it wasn't fixed in XBLA, Banjo's jump can absolutely break vertical movement which is fun to mess around with personally speaking)
Ah, Witchy World, I loved this place as a kid. Fond memories of coming back to it to fuck around well after completing it.
at 8:49 I swear I heard Lucahjin sing Turn on your Fleshlight. *Perverted Giggle*
I like how John was able to migrate the stop and swap eggs over finally but they didn't go and use them at all and moved onto the next world.
Banjo Tooie + Lucah =
Banjo Tittie
Great to have you back! Hope everything's okay.
14:02 Lucah: Jon, will you go into this tiny hole and get the treasure inside?
Jon: I'm only 7 years old! *as he whips out his KFC: Kokiri Fairy Card*
Enjoying this let's play. Glad you liked meeting Mrs. Boggy.
Remaining collectible requirements and locations (for sake of helping Lucah and Jon)
**Spiral Mountain/Isle O' Hags**
*Jinjos: 1(?)*
1(?): Wooded hollow, end of digger tunnel (did they already get this one in this version?)
*Other*
Game Pak: Behind Spiral Mountain waterfall (Requires Grip Grab)
Mystery Eggs: Visiting Heggy's Egg Shed in Wooded Hollow with Stop N' Swop eggs
**Mayahem Temple**
Complete!
**Glitter Gulch Mine**
*Jiggies: 2*
1: Power Hut Basement (Split-up recommended)
2: Behind the Waterfall (Springy-step required)
*Jinjos: 1*
Water Storage (via World 4 connection)
**Witchyworld**
Literally everything save for 2 moves and some notes. I'll wait until they get a bit further in before specifically pinpointing what they have left.
One last little detail about Mayahem Temple, is the music. The vocals sound like Mumbo saying "Come and have a go, if you think you're hard enough!"
YAY ITS BACK!! I’m unfortunately sick so this is definitely helping me feel better ❤️
Hope you and Jon are having a wonderful day
Yay, Lucah's back!
Euro Witchyworld open for business! Who are you to resist? My children need wine!
4:14
Lucah was thinking in Sugandese.
Salty Joe reminds me of one of the weasels from Who Framed Roger Rabbit
To the question asked at the start of the video, you CAN put in Cheato's codes without him telling them to you BUT you have to spell out 'Cheato' beforehand for them to register, and some of them may require you to spell them out backwards (however I think that might make them like the cheats that mess with your save data or whatever it was Jon was saying some cheats do to your file)
Also, with the button under the bell in Witchyworld, you have to hit it with three different moves (simple ground pound, Beak Drill and Grenade Eggs) within the time limit to get the bell to the top. But be careful not to detonate it too close to yourself.
Fun fact, in Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge, the game mentions the Random Stop Honeycombs, but they're actually dummied out.
18:43 It’s BORGER TIME for Lucah!
If Lucah is having this much trouble with swimming in a lake, she's going to HATE the lagoon level
I hope you both catch a break with the sickness soon...first late last year and now this, that's rough.
I’m caught up now. Hallelujah.
"Don't act like you know me just cuz you married me!" - Lucahjin
"Do you remember the code we have to type?"
"Uh... Goldship"
Hehehehehehe.... Nice call back.
Omg Lucah I'm dying at that zoom in lmao
Witchyworld is fun. Its a theme park level...but themed around being a shitty, awful place that rips you off and sells shitty food. Bcause its owned by the game's main villain.
it's very different : 3
Airborne Egg Aiming N64:
Shooting eggs defends bird and bear,
So why not fire them in the air!
Up-C gives you the aiming sight,
Then press Zed to shoot from height!
I remember learning everything by heart back then. I did draw maps rarely though.
Who else has the Banjo Tooie commercial living rent free in their heads, where Banjo jumps out the airplane?
"Don't act like you know me, cuz you don't!" She says to her husband of many years
24:35 Madame Guntry has a slim chance to reward you the cheat to read the signposts in Jiggywiggy's template, which reveals the locations of all the Jiggies. Very useful in the N64 version, but since the Xbox version comes with its own menu dedicated to listing where the Jiggies are, it's basically useless now.
16:57 - 17:20 I would die laughing if someone managed to animate this and not have it be taken down by TH-cam XD
My friend and I just called it Didney last week 🤣
Meeting Mrs. Boggy was everything I hoped it would be.
Fun Hint:
There's a small chance Madame Grunty will give you a super secret cheat code to use in the Mayahem Temple. You just have to go in a bunch of times.
Fun fact: There's a much larger chance that she will give you a beating instead.
15:08 Well I guess I might have missed that sign when I did my everything wrong with video on the game
Oh, I did not realize it right away, but episode 9 is not in the playlist.
I don’t know if this will help or not, but I find it so much easier to fly and swim in first person view.
Also, hold r for quick turning in water and in the air.
Everyone: "You've just been elected POTUS, what're you going to do next?"
Me: "I'm goin' to Didney Worl!!!"
Me: "Well, if you elected a Canadian as your President, you must want to join Canada, right? ;3"
If witchy world was grunty's idea of an amusement park, she would have would have loved action park.
Look up defunctlands video for details
Aiton Park is just real life WitchyWorld. With better food, hopefully.
@@sarafontanini7051 if the drunk teen employees gave guests burgers they sneezed on, it wouldn't surprise me
Do you guys know Banjo Kazooie The Jiggies of Time mod? I highly recommend them for the future.
15:50 lmaooooo love you two
OMG John is totally right, that sounds just like DK’s voice actor from the cartoon.
Is it me or does Lucah have a strange aversion to egg usage? Probably to save them for the poopin'.
I can't wait till she sees what the breegull bash move is.
Aaaaand there's the reaction!
17:30 CLEVELAND STEAMER!
