Dale, this was STELLAR! Mr. Solari, not just brilliant, but so easy on the ear. Such a great speaker. Marking this one for replay, and I hope you have him back.
Great stuff as always. Throwing this one in this week's Laterpress newsletter! If Joe Solari is doing panels again at 20books Vegas this year, I'll probably be attending them. He's an excellent speaker.
Awesome advice. I've shared this video with others because I wholeheartedly agree with this publishing and marketing advice. Love Love Love the newsletter advice. A lot of it seems simple, but hearing it is a good reminder of the little things that can make a big different. Thanks!
I'm a new author and I went with KDP about twenty days ago to see what the results would be with very little self promo and no advertising. So far there has been no measurable advantage to it. Amazon is doing nothing discernible for me to promo my book. I'll stay in KDP for the ninety day agreement, but I'll be going wide, as planned, asap.
Yeah, KDP won't promote authors who aren't generating any sales or significant traffic. It's all about relevance. And, I feel ya on the KDP Select program. It's worth testing for one cycle, but after that, pull it if it's not rewarding you as you'd expect. Always great hearing from you, TK.
My measly revenue comes from 96% paperback, 3% ebook and 1% KU. I thought it would be a great way to find my readers, but even with advertising, it stays on 0 page reads. I'll not be re-enrolling.
Smart decision. Get that book out into the wild world of wide publishing. A great book to pick up is "Wide for the Win" by Mark Leslie Lefebvre. That'll help you select the best areas to distribute your book once it's out of KDP Select.
I don't even value seeing KENP values in sales stats and graphs anymore. It is so minuscule even if people read tons of pages. I can't imagine KENP could ever compete with actual sales of copies of Ebooks and print books. Maybe that will change someday, but for now I don't even want to be distracted by KU data as an author
Yeah, and since this interview, KDP announced how AI-narrated audiobooks published through their platform would take from the KDP Select Global Fund. That pool is going to get smaller and smaller.
"They don't treat their customers like they'd like to be treated." that was good.
So true.

We could've gone on for hours. I like the way he thinks.
Once again Dale thank you so much …
your guest Joe Solari has his finger on the pulse
Great great great !! 😄
Thank YOU!

You = the best! Thanks so much, Nate.
I will be at 20 books this year doing my Business 101 and another session with John Logsdon and Bonnie Paulson on Reader retention.
You are really getting some great guests on, Dale! Great follow-up to the one with Nick.
Aw, thanks! I've got a few more interviews coming up that you'll enjoy.

Thanks for sharing! And, I'm so glad this interview could be of help to you.
This follows directly on the heels of your advice from several weeks ago to go ahead and write your series now.
Glad you enjoyed it, Mac!

Amazon will only amplify what you do. If there is no sales then they don't know who to show your books to.
He gave some great information. Thank you!
THank you for watching
Totally agreed! Joe is a solid dude.
Great content. Book marketing is so hard!
Totally agree!
