      It looks like it was a hand-trace (or at least a custom line trace on some digital editing software, since he's clearly trying to just use the headdress as the edge of the mask, but you can see some of the sky from the original film) for each individual frame of the movie, so however long it would take to mask 1 frame, multiply that by 24 times for the movie's frame count, multiply again for the number of seconds that the movie clips will be masked in, and multiply again for the custom artwork of Christian Kirbo reacting to each frame of the movie.
      For such a short scene, it must have been a monstrous amount of work.

      Arguably the motives don’t exist since the Exodus never happened. This isn’t some edgy “All religion is stupid fairy tales and you’re stupid for believing it” argument. Any reputable archeologist will tell you there’s no evidence for Hebrew enslavement by the Egyptians.

    I still thought this was really funny, but literally a week before I watched the original video I watched a documentary going over the history of ancient Egypt and the pyramids and found that, in the most likely case, the pyramids weren't built by slaves but rather by paid workers who as a reward for such hard labor also got to build their own mini-tomb, from which they lived and worked from in 3-month shifts as they built the pyramids, for the purpose of being their burial chamber after their eventual death, which was probably the highest honor non-royalty could have received at the time.
    Evidence for this include the discovery of this mini tomb next to the pyramids in the 1990's by a tourist, and the gradual decrease in size for each subsequent pyramid built could be contributed by them going massively overbudget due to many contributing factors, one of which was the workers' wages, thus the reduction of scope over the course of the project. They also received purportedly "free" food in the form of daily deliveries of cattle and sheep, which probably was also a contributor.

      X to doubt. I'm not saying archaeology isn't a respectable field, but I will say that it's speculative by nature with very little being certain. This _almost_ sounds like someone attempting to "debunk" the Bible by "proving" that there were no Jewish slaves, and therefore the Bible must be "fake". And I wish I could have more faith in academics that they wouldn't be so petty, but I think a lot of edgy atheist academics are exactly that petty. I just can't help but be skeptical about the idea that they used paid labor if slavery was an option. The mini-tombs could have been for literally anyone else, and even slaves need to eat. And especially if budget was an issue, you'd think slave labor would be the ideal budget cut.
      Unfortunately, anything we can't literally recreate in a lab falls outside the scope of hard science. Even when it comes to things like astronomy, a lot of that is just our best guess based on the things we can observe from afar. Likewise when it comes to things like Evolution. There's very little on these subjects that we actually _know_ for certain, which doesn't mean it's wrong, but it does mean it _could_ be wrong. All it takes is one little wrong assumption to propagate into entire fields built on that faulty assumption. Finding a mistake and correcting it could revolutionize that field, and change everything we thought we knew about that subject.
      Again, I'm not saying there's no value in studying distant stars, or other fields that stray beyond the confines of a lab. But what I am saying is that there's a difference between data and evidence. Evidence supports a position, but data is only proof of its own existence. We can come up with a theory that doesn't contradict the data, but that's not the same as that data supporting that theory.

    • @michaelbowman6684
      @michaelbowman6684 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Greywander87 The reason the side tomb is "evidence" for them being paid workers is that they _wouldn't_ give slaves a tomb, and the people buried in the side tomb definitely weren't royalty because A: "side tomb" and B: we'd know if they were royalty, leaving the only logical answer to be the workers who weren't royalty, but who did build the tombs, i.e., the pyramids. They were buried with bread and wine for the afterlife, and their bodies were discovered to have onset arthritis in their backs.
      There isn't any real "evidence" that Jewish slaves built the tombs either. If you have an article supporting that argument that extends past word of mouth, I'd appreciate if you could share it so I that can read it and perhaps change my view on this topic, because otherwise I couldn't find it and the idea that Jewish slaves built the pyramids has apparently been a long-dispelled myth, at the very latest, in 2010.

    • @Greywander87
      @Greywander87 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@michaelbowman6684 I'm not aware of any reason to think that the Jews built the pyramids, but I know that's an idea that's floated around. The Bible certainly doesn't say anything about that, only that they were slaves and they were making bricks. In fact, I'm pretty sure the pyramids were built before the Jews came to Egypt.
      I did some digging into this topic, and it seems like this is all the work of one Dr. Zahi Hawass. It sounds like this guy is an Egyptian nationalist of sorts, and is bending the truth to turn the pyramids into a symbol of Egyptian patriotism. In other words, it's political propaganda.
      It seems that they found evidence that at least _some_ of the people who built the pyramids were not slaves, and took that to mean that _none_ of the people who worked on the pyramids were slaves. That's an insane logical leap. The reality is probably that there was a mix of slaves and skilled laborers, and those side tombs were probably for the skilled laborers. The idea that not a single slave worked on the pyramids is something that we could never truly know for sure, so anyone making that claim is full of it.
