Double sided tape works really well I’ve even used the same piece multiple times on pool copping!
Also I like micro fiber in the mix if you use liquid release on the face of the foam it usually won’t stick and it won’t eat the foam!

    I love watching your videos.
I was quoted $2800 for a 8x12 x 4" shed pad in Canada. I used your tips and got it done myself for $550. Found a company that delivers pre-mix "pay as you go" only pay for what you use. My neighbour borrowed me a bull float and edgers. Looks as good as anyone could hope for.
I kept it covered and moist for 3 weeks. It's solid as a literal rock! When I went to drill my baseplate anchors into it, the concrete definitely cured harder then I'm used to this way!

That looks amazing... For myself who works on my vehicles and such, I could not deal with a driveway with a texture like that, but if I had a good sized shop (like an RV garage with the 6 bay garage) then I would do something like that for curb appeal out front. You guys did amazing work. I'd like to see more on the fix for the step, did you guys mix more concrete to fill back in and use the screws like a dowl/rebar type thing to hold it in? Or did they press the curb that fell off back on? Did it require a coat of cement glue or something to help hold it to the step poured awhile back to prevent a cold joint crack? Just interested in that part more is all. A video on that scenario laying it out would be cool to see.

Yeah, it's the solvent in the 3m that dissolves the styro. Like you said if you let the solvent dry first you can apply the styro with little or no dissolving. I found out the hard way too. Industrial strength double sided tape is probably easiest and most versatile way to attach styrofoam to anything in my experience.

Try using a dribble of aerosol foam. The 'window and door' type doesn't expand like crazy.

Hey man youve been a great help to me in the past had one question today.
So crew i work with we use mags for floating.
    Typically do decorative work.
Is there any do's and don'ts for using a resin trowel for scrubbing? I know its great for those "oh crapp" moments and used for broom finish, burn finish, curbs but is there any issues if used for stamped, sandy finish, things like that?
Out in pnw WA and ORG. Use mags and steel trowels but i see some crews use resin floats. Ive always met old school guys who used wooden floats. I know it does same as a mag but i get that resin /wood are rougher.
My question is, will using resin at the wrong time cause major problems with end result finish?
Sorry if im all over the place, i have a diffucult time expressing what i want to say on paper/text and in person sometimes lol. I was more of a math and P.E. guy🤣

    • @Fr3sh-Kush
      @Fr3sh-Kush ปีที่แล้ว

EDIT: P.S i am also hesistant to bring one onto the jobsite is because why wouldnt all finishers keep one on hand JUST IN CASE concrete sets up fast and they need to speed things up. Like ya know? Any tool to make the job easier right?

@@OdellCompleteConcrete sorry man. My english/writing is garbage🤣. Makes me wonder if i got problems sometimes. Lol but im great with numbers and measurements strangely enough.
Anywhere my main question was is it suitable for all finishes. Like can it completely replace a mag float?
Can there be issues if you use a resin float at the wrong time? (Example: like if you use a steel trowel to place concrete when its still wet/ just poured.
Thanks again man. Appreaciate your advice and you content man keep it up!

To make the bullnose you can rip a piece of 2” PVC in half on a table saw and butt it up on top of a ripped 1x. Attach to the form with screws. Wont crush like the foam does.

They make adhesives that are foam proof that you can buy at the home center and there is a form release liquid that can be had for that white foam. There are quite a few designs of that foam edge we used to use them on swimming pools but we never had to strip them early for a finish as pools have epoxy finishes on them but I sure used to sweat installing those foam forms on those custom radias`s but never broke one.
