We had this happen in our house when I was in primary school, we'd left the front door open and ball lightning came across the balcony, through the front door, into my grandmas lounge room and fried her TV. I still remember seeing a big ball of white light moving slowly past the windows on the side of the house and a strange static noise, I had nightmares for months afterwards.

I had my first experience with ball lightning just a few years ago. I was sitting in my apartment on my L-shaped sectional couch watching TV. I was sitting in the corner of the couch wedged in and cozy just watching a program when something caught my attention out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was the camera flash on my phone that blinks when I have a notification but instinctively the moment I saw it my hand reached out to feel around the couch and find my phone and it was beside me. All within a matter of a couple of seconds I looked over my shoulder and behind me which is where it was coming from. I saw a little less than a baseball sized ball of bluish pink hazy plasma rolling across the carpet. I was literally paralyzed with fear/shock as it was moving. Within a second or two it dissipated and when it disappeared it made the exact same sound as when we touch our fingers to a door knob after we’ve walked across the carpet in our socks. That little tick sound of static electricity. The logical side of me instantly tried to deduce a reason why I just saw what I did. If it was purely coincidental, there was an outlet on the back wall behind me in the dining room area. I thought that maybe it was just some kind of electrical discharge and it came out of that outlet and rolled across the carpet and then disappeared. But I really don’t know. All I know, is that I was completely frozen with shock when I was witnessing it. It was completely unexpected and absolutely nothing I have ever imagined ever seeing or even wanting to see. But I saw it with my own eyes. I’ve heard a couple of stories over the years but I never really paid attention to them until it happened to me. This is a very real thing.

About 20 years ago while I was living in a cabin on the Roanoke River in the woods in North Carolina my mom and I were sitting at our kitchen table. There was a very bad thunderstorm going on outside and a ball of lightening flew in through our sliding glass doors, went right between my mom and I and slammed into our gas stove. It was the most insane thing I have ever seen. We both just could not believe what happened. During the storm it was so bad, there were balls of lightening shooting across the sky. It looked like someone was playing baseball over the river. Wish I would have had a way to video it back then but will never forget it!

I saw a similar instance once when I was younger. I was up in Northern Michigan at my grandparents house. Same scenario, hardcore thunderstorm etc. We were eating lunch at the dining room table, my grandma sitting across from me and grandpa at the head of the table. A ball of bluish white light came through their large front windows facing the lake and shot directly between my grandma and I at my grandpa and then disappeared before hitting him. It was followed by an ENORMOUS thunder clap that rocked the hanging light over the table literally. The pastor at their church less than 10 miles away also told us he saw a similar ball of light during the same storm come in through the church office window, into his computer that was on the nearby desk and fried it.

Back in 2000 or so when I was a kid my best friend's dad told me and him a story about how he experienced ball lightning as a child. He described it exactly like these folks. He was home alone and a storm was rolling in. He went into the kitchen when there was a loud crack and a ball of lightning appeared over the sink and drifted into the room towards him but then suddenly darted off to a nearby power outlet and vanished leaving a burnt smell behind.

the one i saw i remember being much smaller. It was a rainy day in the late 90s. Bad thunderstorm out. I was laid on the carpet infront of the fireplace watching t.v. Lightning struck very close and we lost power. Seconds later, the t.v. and some lighting came back on. I jumped up to turn off the t.v. but it wouldn't turn off. Then i noticed light coming out of the chimney. Seconds later i watch a ball of light descend out of the stack and stop about a foot off the ground. It then began lurching forward directly at me, passing through an iron wood-burning stove. When it emerged from the other side, it was about 2' away from me, when it just disappeared with a loud pop. No sparks, no shower or nothing. Just there, then not. The t.v. and the lights died again and apparently it shocked my brother, who was touching the refrigerator in the kitchen at that exact time. My brother didn't see it, but i remember just being absolutely petrified with fear. Completely unable to move. We're talking about 7 seconds or less that i was actually looking at it.

Michelle, I know a woman who lives in upstate New York who is now in her 90s, who is afraid of lightning and thunderstorms.
When I asked her why, she told me she once saw “lightning” come into her family kitchen, going from one side of the room to the other and traveling up the ironing board her mother was using and then back down.
She said it didn’t harm her mother, but ever since then she’s afraid of lightning getting into the house and always disconnects everything electrical when it starts raining outside, just to be safe from it.
She didn’t actually use the term “ball lightning”, , but from what she described and how it made its way around the house, it sure sounded like it.
And she was dead serious when she told me about it.

I had seen a ball lighting about 30 yrs ago right outside my family's patio door and when I shut the door on it, it popped/vanished and suddenly there was a very loud explosion that shook the building. I'm pretty positive that the explosion was thunder because of the rolling sound that it was making. For a long time I was confused as to what it was but now I know.

Happened to me as a teen in late 70s or 80s. I don't recall thunderstorms at the time. I was sitting on the floor reading a book with my back to the wall in the dining room. This room had a large double glass door. I didnt see where the lightning ball, about the size of a soccer ball, originated. I noticed the light and watched it roll, more like floating, across the dining room floor, a few inches above the floor. I did not move as it went beside me, down the hallway, into a large central heating/air register. It traveled down the register and I heard my dog yelp out. He must have been laying in the basement beside the unit. Told my parents when they returned home and my mother said she saw something like that once in a field. On recall, it's amazing I wasn't scared. Wasn't much information on the subject at the time, before the internet.

An hour of thunder lightning and deluge. On this day my friend, a Kiwi fella, and I were were sitting on the couch smoking a joint and watching TV. My girlfriend was in the kitchen. We had unplugged the phone which regularly got hit by lightning. The front door as well the kitchen door were open to let a breeze through. When BANG.... a strike close by.... then out of the telephone jack on the wall shot two yellow balls of fire. They rolled past our outstretched feet by no more than eighteen inches, then through door of the kitchen, and out the open door. It was only my girlfriends squeals that shook us back to our senses. Stoned or not...If it wasn't for the smell of ozone and the burnt plug.... we would never had believed this.

When I used to live in Tucson, Az we would go up to Mt. Lemmon to look out over the city. A couple time we saw ball lighting on the desert floor. A lighting storm was in the distance and hadn't hit yet but the orbs would aluminate and then disappear. They looked like they would be about five ft across and tall and they resembled those Nikola Tesla plasma glass balls you could buy at Spencer's gift store.

OMG! My long dead, grandfather, he was born in 1892, used to tell us a story about a ball of light that went through their house! We believed him, because my grandfather and grandmother, would never lie about anything. We all just thought it was some kind of spirit, or something. Now I know!

Had more or less the exact same the difference, there was an horrendous cracking sound through the house and then this ball appeared as if it came through the window although travelled about shoulder height above my wife who was sitting on the sofa and exited the opposite window with no sound.
If I had have been on my own I wouldn’t have believed it however my wife saw the exact same as myself.
I googled lightning and apparently lighting can not travel through glass or if it does it shatters the glass with its heat so this makes no sense.

I gotta say as someone that has seen ball "lightening" in his house as a kid. We should be asking HOW it gets into closed houses. People talk about it going through windows... and that is just utterly impossible if you believe that it is made out of compressed air and electricity which modern science claims it is. Air can not go through windows. Electricity, sure maybe.
But, beyond that, when I saw it as a kid; I woke up to it hovering 2-3 feet away from me in a closed bedroom. Closed door, closed windows with curtains drawn. It hovered there for a bit then zoomed up and away from me towards where the wall met the ceiling and vanished. It had no smell, no sound just white blue light.
Others talk about it coming in through a window, moving right up to them, hovering there for a bit then going back out through the same window..... lightning ain't gonna do that. It's also flat out not going to move around a house like people say it does. It's going to zoom straight into the nearest wall or furniture, or person.
It's either not a natural thing OR some people see something natural and some people see something else.
...and btw, I've now seen it twice. The second time was a week ago after I had been watching videos about it on here and talking to a house mate about it earlier in the day (or day before, I don't remember). This time it was outside like a house or two away and I saw it through a window. It Started out above the house and move in an arc down towards the ground and vanished behind a tree.
This time I was wide awake, hadn't gone to bed yet. I took awhile to try to figure out if all the various lights outside in the neighborhood could have been what I saw since it happened while I was walking down a hallway and the lights "move" when you move. There are no lights that move the way the ball of light that I saw moved.
It was not a stormy or even rainy night. Just cloudy.
I don't think I had told anyone about seeing the ball light in my bedroom as a kid until the day I talked to my house mate about it..... and then, bam.. I'm seeing it again.
    Highly sus.

Ball of lightning: don't mind me coming in

  • @ENFPerspectives
    @ENFPerspectives 2 ปีที่แล้ว

This happened to me while I was sitting at my kitchen table. I heard a Tzt-Tzt noise, and looked up, and there was a ball of electricity. It had a white, blue core about the size of a nickle or so, and white, blue tenticles flashing out in every direction just like those balls they sell in stores. It's size was a little bit smaller than a bowling ball, but the edges where they ended where almost invisable. The area inside it was almost like a light blie gray fog, and that is how I could tell the outer edges also, but it was forcefield-like in appearance. It was only there briefly, maybe 2 seconds give or take, and then it simply disappeared (no sound, just gone). I didnt know what it was, so I continued writing without even much thought (I was planning a trip to Colorado and to Arizona, all within 7 days). As I began writing again, I heard the Tzt-Tzt sound again, only off to my right this time. When I looked over, the lightening ball was hovering between my kitchen bar and our pantry, with the blue white electric lines stemming from the center, about 3 1/2 feet from the ground . I sprinted out of the kitchen so fast, 🤣 I about knocked my chair over. I was laughing and scared simultaneously. Right at that time, my sister-on-law came in the front door (her son, my nephew, was going on the trip with us). In my awed excitement, I told her what just happened. She accused me of imagining it. 😡😠 I later was able to prove to her these things actually exist, from seeing them saw them on TH-cam. She seemed unimpressed, but I totally felt vendicated. Lol. 😏😏😏
