    Thank you very much for this video. This phone helps me in my work big time. At first, I was shocked about solid brickeness of this phone and size of it, but now I'm used to it. You don't need hammer for nails if you have CAT S62 Pro :)

    Where can I buy that charger port assy. CAT says that they no longer support this phone or do repairs. While the phone is extremely rugged never drop it when charging. because no one repairs that part if broken. If the phone can not charge eventually it becomes a brick.

    This is the kind of exotic phone that makes me feel excited. Phones are getting too similar to each other these days.
    I hope you can arrange a teardown of Sony Xperia Pro-I. The phone is quite an interesting phone , but also very expensive in the meantime.

    • @PBKreviews

      👍 I will look into it, its pretty pricey and I will probably lose a lot of money on it since I don't get that many views on these videos but will see if I can get one n do it.

    Not surprised but still disappointed the hex screws on the side aren't for disassembly. Reading the comments it's seems like parts are impossible to get, very disappointing. Might not be too much longer until I can reliably charge and it'll just be a basic thermal camera.

    Thanks for this video, I was just wondering how to take off that plasic. I wanted to turn off that vibrating motor because it bothers me every time I turn the phone on or off that vibration so I removed the contact wire from the motor, now Im a little worried how to keep ip68, I think I will use some silicon glue

    Cool phone, just a shame it's an absolute piece of crap.
    My first one got water inside it. The charger port on my second one has eroded/worn away in 6 months. Nothing but trouble trying to get it to charge. Looks like the thing needs to be completely torn apart just to repair the port. Which will also ruin its IP rating.
    Great video though, thanks.

      Try holding down the volume down and power button for 20 seconds see if it does anything. If not, it can be many things (bad battery, bad charger port, bad screen, etc).

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joeellis5960 There is a possibility that there may be a hairline crack in the screen somewhere that is hard to see or in a corner somewhere preventing the phone from displaying anything or powering on. The next thing I can think of would be water damage.

      I also have s62 wich after it smacked to the ground is completely dead... not even a vibration when holding the power/volume buttons. Screen dead ofc.
      Might be something with the power since everything is dead.. where would you start?

When i hold DOWN and POWER green led blink every 20s once and no other reaction. Maybe anyone know where to find baord view or circuit view or PCB description to check pads?

    hi, would you say that this is a good phone...specs aside? im looking at buying one but there are so many negative reviews online, do i believe them? a lot of people are saying that call quality suffers...could that just be residual water in the mic from washing the phone?

    • @SnowBunneh
      @SnowBunneh ปีที่แล้ว

      I've owned mine for a year. I just wanted something reliable. I knew from the reviews it would be a bit buggy going in but I needed a new phone and it was what I could afford without overextending myself financially.
      Sometimes the flir app likes to crash unless I restart the phone. Also I had to disable the Google voice from the keyboard shortcut menu for voice dictation to work on discord.
      That stuff aside, I don't worry as much if it drops or gets wet at work. I also have the bad habit of throwing my phone when I am really angry.
      So... it works for that too.
      It can't handle Genshin Impact but it does reddit and firefox just fine so it meets my needs.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! If you replace the adhesive with original pre cut adhesive, then yes it will retain the ip68. But for this phone, it doesn't seem like the pre cut adhesive is easy to find or available to order online. Most of the time, back cover/battery door replacements would come with the pre cut adhesive pre installed but not always.

      @hydrofarmer15 If you have the S62 rather than the S62 pro, it does come with wireless charging, If you have it, there should be two copper contact points on the bottom third of the back. You can see this one does not have that. I have an s62 and the wireless charging barely works. Let me know if you've found a fix....

      Not sure about the S61, but this one isn't that hard to do. The fact that its taken apart from the back and not from the front is great compared to other rugged devices which pose a chance of breaking or damaging the display and prying it off to replace internal parts.

      The whole phone is built around ruggedness. The entire housing is rubberized plastic with reinforced metal plates around the frame and is made to withstand dirt/debris as well as water. The screen is reinforced with a plastic layer screen protector as well with gorilla glass 6 screen to withstand drops.
