Finished this anime hours ago, last few episodes had me crying. If anyone hasn't watched it yet I recommend starting NOW! It's an absolute masterpiece.
Lots of good old animes that are often overlooked by newer animes with better budgets for animation and sequels. Sakurasou is my most favorite anime of all time. It is sad how so much of these old animes never got sequels themselves. Glad to see Sakurasou is still getting noise today. It's been over 6 years since I first watched this gem :)
Who else cried while watching Sakurasou? I don't know if anyone in the world is like me but I find myself crying in "touching moments" more than "sad moment". For example, Kami's speech makes me cries more than other sad scene.
This anime has some deep meaning and a rollercoaster into seriousness and sadness. At the beginning it had an absolute load of happiness fun and messing around, but as the months went on and episodes kept going (after 12), the seriousness of the show really kicked in. With constant failures and dreams crushed w/ the inevitable end journey for characters, it almost becomes teary eyes. It shows that everyone can only have fun with eavh other for so long before everyone moves on and with the progression of each episode, it really shows. It shows not everyone can stick around forever and you eventually have to accept the reality of that and with the hardships that you have to endure in life that hit the characters like a brick and makes the story more serious and the ever so drifting distance from how it was in the beginning. To add on, everything feels ike it crumbles apart as the anime aged, jin leaving sakura hall before graduation for awhile as if he is detachting himself only to come back for a small amount of time before a final departure. The threat of the hall and memories being demolished, arguments and fights between each other. Its incredible how it takes you from one side of the bed to the other and with that mixed emotions. This way of the story compares to the manga; Starting off in the middle of highschool and as the volumes go, the gradual maturation and reality hits deep. With the final volume showing sorata and shina in their early to mid 20s and everyone moved on, its definitely an absolute lengthy journey that makes you look back at the first volumes like it was nostalgia.

Mashuzuu actually... the light novel was very advanced when they stopped, sadly, you won't like what happened after the anime, at least i didn't. all i'll say is that they reach to the point when Kanda it's an adult, a successful computer programmer... i won't say more. but really, if you liked the story so far, stop there, you'll be heartbroken if you go to the end... [i'm still sad. this show made me an anime guy and i regret to know the end] :'(
I dont feel complete without a season 2 - New residents - The love of Jin and Misaka - Sorata and Mashiro/Nanami - Ryuunosuke and Rita and Maid-chan - How will the manga of Mashiro be, and will she still paint? - What's with Yuuko I have so much feelings now. I have to many questions. Season 2 or a few amazing OVA episodes. I'll be of crying now ;-;
I looked up the ending since everyone kept saying it sucked and we shouldnt get a season 2 because of it. I have to say I dont understand what they are talking about. Its the ending I expected and although there are definitely some wtf moments its not as bad as they make it sound.
@@jacobellis2313 I think the main reason why they hated it is because of how much Sorata had changed comparing to the anime. It might be also because of how Aoyama was completely left out of the picture at the final chapters after seeing how much character development that went through her. Not to mention how Rita and Dragons relationship never made a single progress after the anime. But personally what pissed me off the most is how they used a 4 years timeskip, we will never know whatever happened in that span of 4 years.

This anime makes you think about life and the struggle to be better. Competitive people that you might never best and still moving on and fine by your own way and purpose in life..for Sorata that was his passion for game design... This is a show that has reached peak realism with so much emotion packed in it.. it's been 5 years it's been a longtime. This was actually my first anime aside insomnia
I watched this anime four years ago and will be graduating next month. I've grown so much over the past few years that I couldn't even imagine. 4 years ago I thought "What a great anime!" But now I can't stop crying.
Man. I'm usually one of those anime watchers that is into Naruto, Bleach, Gundam, etc. but I never gave highschool drama anime a thought. I always thought they were stupid and just ridiculous but I gave Sakurasou a chance. I'm so glad I took the chance. Not only is this anime a cute and funny anime but one that also gives us a little eye-opener of what the world is like (towards the end). Too bad it's only 24 episodes...ugh wish there were more. Love this anime. Anyone know if there are others like this kind with art that is recent or up-to-date?
watch Kokoro Connect. highschool of the dead is also really good. I've watched over 50 animes and that is the animes that REALLY got me to try new stuff instead of only rewatching Naruto, Bleach, One piece over and over.
A little bit different in art style, but similar in colors: Chunnibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai and it's sequel Chunnibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai: Ren. Has to be my all time favorite anime, this is second. Chunnibyou is a slice of life, "fantasy" (you have to watch to see why fantasy is quoted :P), tiny bit drama (because what anime doesn't have drama?), and some romance :3 very funny, adorable, and sweet all around. Another extremely recent and growing popular one is No Game No Life, comparable I guess to Sword Art Online while being the complete opposite if that makes sense. Brother and sister who are video game champions get sucked into a fantasy world where everything is controlled by playing games. Captivating from the first episode for most. Extremely colorful in the plot, opening, and ending. Art development is very technical and vibrantly gorgeous. Only 12 episodes (so far), there's a huge foreboding for a second season that's yet to come out, while it says its complete, I still treat it as ongoing (or maybe that's my high hopes).
This is my favorite anime. I hope it never dies even though 11 years have passed. Can't believe it was one of the first anime's I watched growing up, and now I'm about to start college abroad, what a long road. When I lose my way in life, I just re-watch this masterpiece again, giving me the strength to face the new emotions and challenges life will bring. It makes me feel a way I can't explain with words, and yes, we all cried with the ending. I already lost count how many times i've seen it, but you know you've made something special if even after all these years people keep coming back to it from time to time. I'm about to start re-watching it. Next time, if I comment, hopefully the people will still remember Sakurasou.
Not sure if you are ever gonna read this comment but I feel similar.When I saw this anime for the first time, I wasn't thinking much, but after watching the last 2 episodes I had started crying. The anime hit my emotions, and ot changed me. If definitely helped me move on. If you are readong this, I hope for your best college experience
I had to rewatch sakurasou again to understand it. LOL. i knew that sorata , jun, and mashiro mentioned about plan a, b,c at the start but i forgot.. So i was kinda clueless when sorata refers plan B as dating and C as Cutting
One of the best romance anime. So touching n lovely. Loved it so much n no doubt shred teas as well. I remember OP3 I need your name again. Now I say I need season2 now!
When you are more emotional about someone else's graduation than your own one.. this anime had such an impact. I wish we could see more of it. After just 5 minutes of finishing it.. already nostalgic and sadness.
@@Hetsu.. It was fine if you mean of my graduation, mostly people thay they know you will see much less of in your lifetime. For most of them, you become a thick fog. I hope I'm wrong. If you mean the anime, I give it a 10/10. It's a rollercoaster of drama and emotions that you don't get as much with anime these days. And you can learn a lot too for your future.
It was wonderful. Every moment of watching this. I was so moved. And episodes 22 and 23 were just a one big flood of tears. It took two days to finish, and now I'm back with that empty feeling, which always haunts me after finishing a good anime. But man, I enjoyed every second of it. Besides, I had never cried so much. Arigato. And I would be white, if it comes to the color. Thank you Mashiro and Sorata, and all others for giving me this piece of happiness. Sakurasou for life!
I agree with you so much... I do really hate the empty feeling after finishing a good anime and I actually hate it more than being alone just like how I was yesterday after finishing Toradora!
WizBiz89 same here... I should've tried to watch toradora a lot earlier. After I started watching other anime other than naruto (no hate towards any bleach or one piece fans in anyway) I've seen toradora everywhere. Never watched it till a while ago.
i first watched this anime when i was 15 years old as it was one of the very first animes i’ve seen back in the day, fast foward years later i’m now 21 working 2 jobs and studying for college. man time went by way too fast.. this anime taught me so many things like to never give up on your passion (corny but it’s true) and a way to express yourself by just being you. i miss this anime so much, i really do.. it holds a super special place in my heart and i’m happy i got to experience it. i just wish i could be able to erase my memories for this anime just so i could watch it for the first time again because damn.. it’s a masterpiece and i’m glad it exists.
This anime deserves a season two. I want to know more about the new students. Also, there hasn't been a real kiss yet. Maybe Mashiro will change as a person even more if there is even going to be a season two.

My life sucks now. I try and try a lot to work but it's not meet my desire. Maybe like Sorata. I want to give up everything but I can't do that. I've watch Sakurasou more than a year ago, but it's still in my mind and my heart. Everytime I sad, I come here and listen to these songs. I don't care what people say about the light novel, I just want they make the 2nd season. Why the anime have to stick to the novel, why they can't change the plot to make it happier?? I really want leave this life, leave this world. It's so pressed. I want to live in sakurasou, really really want.
watched this anime back when I was still a grade 8 student back in 2016, while rewatched it before or after I graduate in August as a Grade 12 student. I am almost sure that I will be crying after I watch it for the last time as a highschool student.
What I really like about this anime is that, the nature of the characters isn't clear, usually, you know right off the bat, who's evil, who's righteous, etc. There is a very constant profile for every character, but here, they feel jealous, fear, angry, sad, they can't agree sometimes and end up fighting, they aren't good or bad, just people, very few anime create characters like that.

IF I DONT GET TO EXPERIENCE SEASON 2 IN MY LIFETIME I WILL FIND THE CREATORS... but seriously this is the first time a series literally NEEDS a second season. this anime was so good that for the first time in my life I stayed up all night just so I could watch, ok one more, ok maybe one more etc etc..not having a second season, Its just is ruining this anime for me honestly. I need a 2nd season. I want to see these lovable characters again. I want to see shiina and others develop more as a character. And most importantly, I want to see the limitless potential this anime has to offer. I need more drama, more characters, and more sadness. With an exception of maybe 1 episode (the one where they were talking about the backstory of sakurasu I swear to God that was so boring and almost made me fall asleep) this was just so perfect especially the ending. PLEASE.....I CANNOT SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING ANOTHER SEASON MIGHT NOT COME.
Could always, y'know, read the light novels the series was based on. Baka-Tsuki has fully translated like, the first 4-5 novels or so, with bits and pieces of others. I think the anime only goes up to about the sixth novel or so.
I finished the light novel of this anime and here are some spoilers: Sorata got into a r/s with Mashiro but they broke up because they realise they cannot chase after their dreams while trying to support each others' dreams at the same time. It was an amicable breakup. Mashiro went back to England with Rita and continued to draw her Manga which later became popular hits. New residents Kanna continued to pursue writing while Iori music, piano etc. Sorata worked with Ryuu to produce games together with Iori. Misaki and Rita provided CG from the school. Sorata and Nanami are now 22 years old. They all promised to meet back at Sakurasou 4 years later. Sorata, Ryuunosuke, Rita, Iori, Kanna, Misaki, Jin, Nanami... and ... Mashiro! First off, Rita and Ryuu. Rita is going back to England. She has been to Japan 48 times in the past 4 years, once a month, to visit Ryuu. This time, it's the last. Rita asked for one more kiss but got turned down by Ryuu. But somehow in the end they got together with each other! (Big pleasant surprise for RITA X RYUU shippers!) Rita also told Sorata that Mashiro is not coming back because she's busy with her work in England. Sorata said 'okay..' Nanami's hair has grown longer and she looked more ladylike now that she's 22 years old. She hasnt changed a bit though, still that serious yet lovable Nanami. Sorata asked how is her voice acting career coming along, she said it's going well. She has been getting several auditions and passed them. Nanami also said she met Mashiro last week because they had an all-girls-only hotpot party. Sorata went to Sakurasou, met Misaki there. Misaki is still the same old Misaki, still the space alien. She's been working on her own original animes now. Jin was there too. Jin asked if Sorata has got any new girlfriends, which Sorata claims it to be impossible with his busy work. After that, Jin and Misaki went off for shopping. Before going off, Misaki patted Soratas' hands. No one else is in Sakurasou. The place is eerily empty. Ever since Kanna, Iori and Yuuko graduated, no one has been staying in this place. It feels nostalgic. All the memories came flooding back. While waiting for the others to return, he heads out into the garden, to the cherry blossom tree. Someone is standing under the tree, back faced to him. That backview, that hair and that snow-white skin. Sorata recognised them instantly. He was shocked because Rita said she wasnt coming. He felt tensed but he knows he has to do something now. He called out.. 'Mashiro..?' 'It's been quite a while eh? Sorata' They asked how have each other been getting on for the past 4 years. Sorata said he didnt catch a single cold in these 4 years. Mashiro said Sorata is still an idiot. (Sorata wa baka nanone") Sorata stared a moment too long at Mashiro. She noticed and asked what's wrong? Sorata replied 'You have gotten really beautiful' Mashiro was embarrased, she's no longer the emotionless girl we knew. She has grown up. She told Sorata she was nervous before coming here. Thinking about talking to him again makes her nervous. But she's really happy Sorata said she's beautiful. Sorata asked if he can stand beside Mashiro and they both looked up at the Cherry Blossom tree. They are blossoming triumphantly. Mashiro asked Sorata.. 'Say Sorata, what do you think about talking again 4 years later after being a couple?' 'Mashiro.. I have always loved you for these past 4 years' Mashiros' eyes opened wide with shock. Sorata continued saying, 'For these past 4 years, I have loved you', 'I dont know if we will fight again', 'I dont know if things will get weird again', 'We may hurt each other again', 'But.. I think we can ride it out this time' In these 4 years they had grown, nearer to adulthood. Sorata said 'couple', and Mashiro's face broke into a wide smile. Mashiro went on tiptoes and their lips met for a moment. At this time, everyone else saw what happened and began teasing them. All of them took a picture under the Cherry Blossom tree. All of them gathered around Mashiro and Sorata. They did goofy things like climbing onto each other. The self timer went 'Click'. Just as the fully open sakura blooms, in Sakurasou smiling faces like flowers are blooming. END.
I love this anime it's not just about the love story between kanda and mashiro but it also about all of their friendship, the true friendship goal. I also cried in the scene where Misaki gave a speech it was so heartbreaking this anime give me the true meaning of friendship👍
The characters and dialogue are so good that i have fallen in love right from the start. I can't help but be at the edges of my sit every time i watch this series. It is fun to enjoy life and this kind of joy is what I wish the most. If this anime made you feel special in so many ways, you know it's more than that.

Damn. How long has it been since I found this anime? This is probably my favorite anime of all time. It changed my whole life :3. I used to be a kid that was depressed about literally everything, Get 70s in school, Didn't give a shit about anything and didn't do anything really. I got home from school one day and sat down and watched some Netflix. Then I found this in the recommended (No clue how it got there lol). So I watched it over the course of a fiew months I got to about 3/4 through the anime. And boy did this change me lol. My whole world got turned upside down, I wasn't really depressed about anything anymore, My grades shot up and I started to make 95's, I actually did care about my life now and I wanted to do something with my life. Does anybody feel the same undying love that I feel for this anime? This is what also started my love for anime and manga. I hope that someday this will be one of the top world-wide anime's that everybody knows about :3 If anybody wants another anime like this go look up "Nisekoi" Its fantastic.
Anyone waiting for season 2 or OVA for Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo chances are low. Anyways if u are wondering what happened in LN lemme tell you, SO MAJOR SPOILER ALERT. Spoiler from 7 chapter. chapter 6 where the anime ended 1. Sorata chose Mashiro and they started dating (chpt 8) 2.In chapter 9 Aoyama Nanami leaves the dorm. Because, her parent were helping her to become voice actress and she shifted to NORMAL DORMS. 3. And yea in chpt 9 Shino and Sorata do *cough*cough*sleep together YES (SEX) 4. And after dating sometime they break up, Because, Sorata can't keep up being compared to her when they are together, Because she is a prodigy and he is normal person. After some some talk they decide it's best to end up the relationship it's best for their professional life. After that time skips up 4 years later Sorata see Mashiro again, He looks at her and sees he is still love with her. They are both successful in their professional life. Sorata is a game designer and Shina is famous mangaka. They think they could make their relationship right and start to date again. (chapter 10) 5. In chapter 10.5 Shina and Sorata plan to get married. After that 4 year time skip Misaki and Jin were married and had a happy ending 6. Nanami didn't had a happy ending, Because, she was rejected by the Sorata but she overcame and her professional life is going well too. She get some roles in anime too. 7. And the last character Rita and Black long haired guy their relationship was the same she keeps running after him. For me it was a happy end.
Should I rewatch it? I remember the main story and plot though but I miss the feeling watching this anime every night at 2 am before going to sleep and asking myself why I can't live like that.
I’m watching this for the 4th time right now... I was 21 when I first watched, I’m almost 30 now and I still think Sakurasou is one of the best Slice of Life Scholar ever made and I just can’t accepted it not sold so well to gain a 2nd season. This is such a good anime, it has romance, comedy, charismatic characters, good OSTs and daily lives dramas, I don’t know why this is not successful.
Plan C was to cut Nanami Aoyama up. Nanami was moving in to Sakurasou Dorms and Shiina saw Sorata spending lots of time with Nanami and started to feel a little jealous. Shiina came up with Plan B which was to cut Nanami up but Sorata said no, then she made Plan B to Plan C.

Finishing this anime I cried but I realized that life was beautiful, I came out of my room and I tried to become a better person. But then I realized that the world doesn’t work like that. No one talked to me and I was all alone. I watched this anime again and I realized that no one is gonna love me the way the characters love eathother. Anime is getting more popular in the west so there are going to be more dubs of old anime. However If the series wasn't popular enough to get a second season in Japan, by now, then it probably never will. After all, the producers are looking primarily at the domestic market, ie. Japan.
Yeah me too. The Anime is from J.C Staff though and for some reason they don’t like to give second seasons to the shows that people want Second Seasons the most from. This includes Toradora, which I have been waiting for second season for ages now 😭. And yet they give 5 seasons of Food wars?! I mean that show is good but give me my Sakurasou and Toradora S2! 😭😖😤

Lots of good old animes that are often overlooked by newer animes with better budgets for animation and sequels. Sakurasou is my most favorite anime of all time. It is sad how so much of these old animes never got sequels themselves.

Who else cried while watching Sakurasou?
I don't know if anyone in the world is like me but I find myself crying in "touching moments" more than "sad moment".
For example, Kami's speech makes me cries more than other sad scene.

This anime has some deep meaning and a rollercoaster into seriousness and sadness.
At the beginning it had an absolute load of happiness fun and messing around, but as the months went on and episodes kept going (after 12), the seriousness of the show really kicked in. With constant failures and dreams crushed w/ the inevitable end journey for characters, it almost becomes teary eyes. It shows that everyone can only have fun with eavh other for so long before everyone moves on and with the progression of each episode, it really shows. It shows not everyone can stick around forever and you eventually have to accept the reality of that and with the hardships that you have to endure in life that hit the characters like a brick and makes the story more serious and the ever so drifting distance from how it was in the beginning.
To add on, everything feels ike it crumbles apart as the anime aged, jin leaving sakura hall before graduation for awhile as if he is detachting himself only to come back for a small amount of time before a final departure. The threat of the hall and memories being demolished, arguments and fights between each other. Its incredible how it takes you from one side of the bed to the other and with that mixed emotions.
This way of the story compares to the manga; Starting off in the middle of highschool and as the volumes go, the gradual maturation and reality hits deep. With the final volume showing sorata and shina in their early to mid 20s and everyone moved on, its definitely an absolute lengthy journey that makes you look back at the first volumes like it was nostalgia.

I looked up the ending since everyone kept saying it sucked and we shouldnt get a season 2 because of it. I have to say I dont understand what they are talking about. Its the ending I expected and although there are definitely some wtf moments its not as bad as they make it sound.
@@jacobellis2313 I think the main reason why they hated it is because of how much Sorata had changed comparing to the anime. It might be also because of how Aoyama was completely left out of the picture at the final chapters after seeing how much character development that went through her. Not to mention how Rita and Dragons relationship never made a single progress after the anime. But personally what pissed me off the most is how they used a 4 years timeskip, we will never know whatever happened in that span of 4 years.

I watched this anime four years ago and will be graduating next month. I've grown so much over the past few years that I couldn't even imagine.
4 years ago I thought "What a great anime!" But now I can't stop crying.
Man. I'm usually one of those anime watchers that is into Naruto, Bleach, Gundam, etc. but I never gave highschool drama anime a thought. I always thought they were stupid and just ridiculous but I gave Sakurasou a chance. I'm so glad I took the chance. Not only is this anime a cute and funny anime but one that also gives us a little eye-opener of what the world is like (towards the end). Too bad it's only 24 episodes...ugh wish there were more. Love this anime. Anyone know if there are others like this kind with art that is recent or up-to-date?

Episode 23 had me crying the whole time. Goodbyes are always the hardest
A little bit different in art style, but similar in colors: Chunnibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai and it's sequel Chunnibyou Demo Koi Ga Shitai: Ren. Has to be my all time favorite anime, this is second. Chunnibyou is a slice of life, "fantasy" (you have to watch to see why fantasy is quoted :P), tiny bit drama (because what anime doesn't have drama?), and some romance :3 very funny, adorable, and sweet all around.
Another extremely recent and growing popular one is No Game No Life, comparable I guess to Sword Art Online while being the complete opposite if that makes sense. Brother and sister who are video game champions get sucked into a fantasy world where everything is controlled by playing games. Captivating from the first episode for most. Extremely colorful in the plot, opening, and ending. Art development is very technical and vibrantly gorgeous. Only 12 episodes (so far), there's a huge foreboding for a second season that's yet to come out, while it says its complete, I still treat it as ongoing (or maybe that's my high hopes).
Finished just before it's 10 year anniversary. Absolutely loved it
This is my favorite anime. I hope it never dies even though 11 years have passed. Can't believe it was one of the first anime's I watched growing up, and now I'm about to start college abroad, what a long road. When I lose my way in life, I just re-watch this masterpiece again, giving me the strength to face the new emotions and challenges life will bring. It makes me feel a way I can't explain with words, and yes, we all cried with the ending. I already lost count how many times i've seen it, but you know you've made something special if even after all these years people keep coming back to it from time to time. I'm about to start re-watching it. Next time, if I comment, hopefully the people will still remember Sakurasou.

It was wonderful. Every moment of watching this. I was so moved. And episodes 22 and 23 were just a one big flood of tears. It took two days to finish, and now I'm back with that empty feeling, which always haunts me after finishing a good anime. But man, I enjoyed every second of it. Besides, I had never cried so much. Arigato. And I would be white, if it comes to the color. Thank you Mashiro and Sorata, and all others for giving me this piece of happiness. Sakurasou for life!

i first watched this anime when i was 15 years old as it was one of the very first animes i’ve seen back in the day, fast foward years later i’m now 21 working 2 jobs and studying for college. man time went by way too fast.. this anime taught me so many things like to never give up on your passion (corny but it’s true) and a way to express yourself by just being you. i miss this anime so much, i really do.. it holds a super special place in my heart and i’m happy i got to experience it. i just wish i could be able to erase my memories for this anime just so i could watch it for the first time again because damn.. it’s a masterpiece and i’m glad it exists.

watched this anime back when I was still a grade 8 student back in 2016, while rewatched it before or after I graduate in August as a Grade 12 student. I am almost sure that I will be crying after I watch it for the last time as a highschool student.

What I really like about this anime is that, the nature of the characters isn't clear, usually, you know right off the bat, who's evil, who's righteous, etc. There is a very constant profile for every character, but here, they feel jealous, fear, angry, sad, they can't agree sometimes and end up fighting, they aren't good or bad, just people, very few anime create characters like that.

IF I DONT GET TO EXPERIENCE SEASON 2 IN MY LIFETIME I WILL FIND THE CREATORS... but seriously this is the first time a series literally NEEDS a second season. this anime was so good that for the first time in my life I stayed up all night just so I could watch, ok one more, ok maybe one more etc etc..not having a second season, Its just is ruining this anime for me honestly. I need a 2nd season. I want to see these lovable characters again. I want to see shiina and others develop more as a character. And most importantly, I want to see the limitless potential this anime has to offer. I need more drama, more characters, and more sadness. With an exception of maybe 1 episode (the one where they were talking about the backstory of sakurasu I swear to God that was so boring and almost made me fall asleep) this was just so perfect especially the ending. PLEASE.....I CANNOT SLEEP AT NIGHT KNOWING ANOTHER SEASON MIGHT NOT COME.

Could always, y'know, read the light novels the series was based on. Baka-Tsuki has fully translated like, the first 4-5 novels or so, with bits and pieces of others. I think the anime only goes up to about the sixth novel or so.

I finished the light novel of this anime and here are some spoilers:
Sorata got into a r/s with Mashiro but they broke up because they realise they cannot chase after their dreams while trying to support each others' dreams at the same time. It was an amicable breakup. Mashiro went back to England with Rita and continued to draw her Manga which later became popular hits. New residents Kanna continued to pursue writing while Iori music, piano etc. Sorata worked with Ryuu to produce games together with Iori. Misaki and Rita provided CG from the school. Sorata and Nanami are now 22 years old. They all promised to meet back at Sakurasou 4 years later. Sorata, Ryuunosuke, Rita, Iori, Kanna, Misaki, Jin, Nanami... and ... Mashiro!
First off, Rita and Ryuu. Rita is going back to England. She has been to Japan 48 times in the past 4 years, once a month, to visit Ryuu. This time, it's the last. Rita asked for one more kiss but got turned down by Ryuu. But somehow in the end they got together with each other! (Big pleasant surprise for RITA X RYUU shippers!) Rita also told Sorata that Mashiro is not coming back because she's busy with her work in England. Sorata said 'okay..'
Nanami's hair has grown longer and she looked more ladylike now that she's 22 years old. She hasnt changed a bit though, still that serious yet lovable Nanami. Sorata asked how is her voice acting career coming along, she said it's going well. She has been getting several auditions and passed them. Nanami also said she met Mashiro last week because they had an all-girls-only hotpot party.
Sorata went to Sakurasou, met Misaki there. Misaki is still the same old Misaki, still the space alien. She's been working on her own original animes now. Jin was there too. Jin asked if Sorata has got any new girlfriends, which Sorata claims it to be impossible with his busy work. After that, Jin and Misaki went off for shopping. Before going off, Misaki patted Soratas' hands.
No one else is in Sakurasou. The place is eerily empty. Ever since Kanna, Iori and Yuuko graduated, no one has been staying in this place. It feels nostalgic. All the memories came flooding back. While waiting for the others to return, he heads out into the garden, to the cherry blossom tree. Someone is standing under the tree, back faced to him. That backview, that hair and that snow-white skin. Sorata recognised them instantly. He was shocked because Rita said she wasnt coming. He felt tensed but he knows he has to do something now. He called out..
'Mashiro..?'
'It's been quite a while eh? Sorata'
They asked how have each other been getting on for the past 4 years. Sorata said he didnt catch a single cold in these 4 years. Mashiro said Sorata is still an idiot. (Sorata wa baka nanone") Sorata stared a moment too long at Mashiro. She noticed and asked what's wrong? Sorata replied 'You have gotten really beautiful' Mashiro was embarrased, she's no longer the emotionless girl we knew. She has grown up. She told Sorata she was nervous before coming here. Thinking about talking to him again makes her nervous. But she's really happy Sorata said she's beautiful. Sorata asked if he can stand beside Mashiro and they both looked up at the Cherry Blossom tree. They are blossoming triumphantly. Mashiro asked Sorata..
'Say Sorata, what do you think about talking again 4 years later after being a couple?'
'Mashiro.. I have always loved you for these past 4 years'
Mashiros' eyes opened wide with shock. Sorata continued saying, 'For these past 4 years, I have loved you', 'I dont know if we will fight again', 'I dont know if things will get weird again', 'We may hurt each other again', 'But.. I think we can ride it out this time'
In these 4 years they had grown, nearer to adulthood. Sorata said 'couple', and Mashiro's face broke into a wide smile. Mashiro went on tiptoes and their lips met for a moment. At this time, everyone else saw what happened and began teasing them. All of them took a picture under the Cherry Blossom tree. All of them gathered around Mashiro and Sorata. They did goofy things like climbing onto each other. The self timer went 'Click'.
Just as the fully open sakura blooms, in Sakurasou smiling faces like flowers are blooming.

I love this anime it's not just about the love story between kanda and mashiro but it also about all of their friendship, the true friendship goal. I also cried in the scene where Misaki gave a speech it was so heartbreaking this anime give me the true meaning of friendship👍

The characters and dialogue are so good that i have fallen in love right from the start. I can't help but be at the edges of my sit every time i watch this series. It is fun to enjoy life and this kind of joy is what I wish the most. If this anime made you feel special in so many ways, you know it's more than that.

Damn. How long has it been since I found this anime? This is probably my favorite anime of all time. It changed my whole life :3. I used to be a kid that was depressed about literally everything, Get 70s in school, Didn't give a shit about anything and didn't do anything really. I got home from school one day and sat down and watched some Netflix. Then I found this in the recommended (No clue how it got there lol). So I watched it over the course of a fiew months I got to about 3/4 through the anime. And boy did this change me lol. My whole world got turned upside down, I wasn't really depressed about anything anymore, My grades shot up and I started to make 95's, I actually did care about my life now and I wanted to do something with my life. Does anybody feel the same undying love that I feel for this anime? This is what also started my love for anime and manga. I hope that someday this will be one of the top world-wide anime's that everybody knows about :3 If anybody wants another anime like this go look up "Nisekoi" Its fantastic.

Anyone waiting for season 2 or OVA for Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo chances are low. Anyways if u are wondering what happened in LN lemme tell you, SO MAJOR SPOILER ALERT. Spoiler from 7 chapter. chapter 6 where the anime ended
1. Sorata chose Mashiro and they started dating (chpt 8)
2.In chapter 9 Aoyama Nanami leaves the dorm. Because, her parent were helping her to become voice actress and she shifted to NORMAL DORMS.
3. And yea in chpt 9 Shino and Sorata do *cough*cough*sleep together YES (SEX)
4. And after dating sometime they break up, Because, Sorata can't keep up being compared to her when they are together, Because she is a prodigy and he is normal person. After some some talk they decide it's best to end up the relationship it's best for their professional life.
After that time skips up 4 years later Sorata see Mashiro again, He looks at her and sees he is still love with her. They are both successful in their professional life. Sorata is a game designer and Shina is famous mangaka. They think they could make their relationship right and start to date again. (chapter 10)
5. In chapter 10.5 Shina and Sorata plan to get married. After that 4 year time skip Misaki and Jin were married and had a happy ending
6. Nanami didn't had a happy ending, Because, she was rejected by the Sorata but she overcame and her professional life is going well too. She get some roles in anime too.
7. And the last character Rita and Black long haired guy their relationship was the same she keeps running after him.
For me it was a happy end.

I’m watching this for the 4th time right now... I was 21 when I first watched, I’m almost 30 now and I still think Sakurasou is one of the best Slice of Life Scholar ever made and I just can’t accepted it not sold so well to gain a 2nd season. This is such a good anime, it has romance, comedy, charismatic characters, good OSTs and daily lives dramas, I don’t know why this is not successful.
I watch the anime years ago and forgot most of it. But i do remember Shiina plan ABC. Mostly plan C.

Plan C was to cut Nanami Aoyama up. Nanami was moving in to Sakurasou Dorms and Shiina saw Sorata spending lots of time with Nanami and started to feel a little jealous. Shiina came up with Plan B which was to cut Nanami up but Sorata said no, then she made Plan B to Plan C.

Watched 3 years ago and still remember everything. This anime just isn't forgettable.
Finishing this anime I cried but I realized that life was beautiful, I came out of my room and I tried to become a better person. But then I realized that the world doesn’t work like that. No one talked to me and I was all alone. I watched this anime again and I realized that no one is gonna love me the way the characters love eathother. So that’s why I moved to anime, I can’t be happy so might as well see other people be happy and have a reason to live. I watch anime to see people get what I never had. I love this anime, it brings me to tears when I hear the op, I was the happiest man when I watched this anime.
Shiina Mashiro is probably one of the most brilliantly created character in the Anime world period.

Anime is getting more popular in the west so there are going to be more dubs of old anime. However If the series wasn't popular enough to get a second season in Japan, by now, then it probably never will. After all, the producers are looking primarily at the domestic market, ie. Japan.

Yeah me too. The Anime is from J.C Staff though and for some reason they don’t like to give second seasons to the shows that people want Second Seasons the most from. This includes Toradora, which I have been waiting for second season for ages now 😭. And yet they give 5 seasons of Food wars?! I mean that show is good but give me my Sakurasou and Toradora S2! 😭😖😤
