If you saw Anohana and listened to this song for the first time at a point of life when you were about to drift apart from the people you deemed closest to you, then this is probably one of the songs that you'll keep listening to till the end of your days, reminiscing about some of the brightest days that you spent with some of the people you loved the most, and will always keep loving no matter how far you are from them. It's been about 6 years since I listened to this masterpiece for the first time, and I still love this song the same. Because it takes me back to the times when I was whole. And it brings me back memories of people whom I loved the most, but will probably never get back in life again. I can relate a bit. I listened to this song when I was first delving into anime, and Anohana was one of my first, along with Sword Art Online, back in 2012. It was a time where I had just started using Facebook, and I met a group a people that also shared the same love for anime. At that time, I got close to a bunch of peeps, and we shared precious memories together, until at some point in time we went adrift from each other. Some people became memories, others have sadly passed away. Some became so different that I couldn't see them as friends anymore, and of course, some others I still hold contact even to this day. It was a beautiful time of internet discovering and anime binge-watching, I'll certainly miss those naive days, because they will never come back. I hold Aoi Shiori as one of the songs that represent my dawn as a child to a teenager, and as Saitama city and its bridge got imbued into the anime and the song, for me, this song also has a bit of my hometown on it. While listening, blissful memories take me back to a place where I only had to worry about school, and I am very happy that I enjoyed those days.

I randomly came back to this song, I watched Anohana when I was around 10 and bawled my eyes out. (I'm 19 now) Yet this time, all I feel is a bit of regret and relief. My bestfriend and I deliberately drifted apart, we were bestfriends for 6 and a half years. She used to mean the world to me and we used to stick through everything together. But sometimes some moments in our lives are better off left as memories, and some people were never meant to be with us in the first place.

This song reminds of the few days before high school graduation. We just showed up at school. either someone will bring a laptop and emulate ps1-2 games , a bunch of guys will bring guitars and just jam or we go home early and mess around town. We all know we would be leaving an integral moment of our lives but at the same time we knew that this was the last time we could goof around with each other. I've heard of Anohana for 3-4 years now but haven't really watched it since these past years has been tough for me. Anything that can make me cry will tear me apart in this trying times of mine. This song is somewhat special, it makes me remember something i didn't had. Something that wasn't there to begin with. I'm truly greatful for listening to this.
for me, the saddest part of Anohana isn't the cries at the end of the show.. but it's when you're marathon the series, you try to never skip the opening, and the song get stuck in your head.. so when you're finishing the show, you feels like you have to hear the opening one more time on youtube for the last time.. that's when you start crying..

Life moves so fast that we can't control all of the pieces it becomes, I often think that "this may be the last time I see them". These friends are like family and man it hurts saying goodbye knowing it's just not gonna be how it used to be. It was a beautiful time of internet discovering and anime binge-watching, I'll certainly miss those naive days, because they will never come back. I hold Aoi Shiori as one of the songs that represent my dawn as a child to a teenager, and as Saitama city and its bridge got imbued into the anime and the song, for me, this song also has a bit of my hometown on it. While listening, blissful memories take me back to a place where I only had to worry about school, and I am very happy that I enjoyed those days.
