    Danm near payed double that for one in the netherlands.. and it was one sale awell (150 euro off, they ask about 550 euro's for one top price over here). still some bits are cheap but u cant beat it (id take it over my old motorguide digital 54 lb.. atleast this protects the transducer with the fin.

      l heard that only the very old Minn Kota's are reliable... So, l went with their recommendation of Newport Vessels 55lbs. for less than $170 US on Ama.....

      @@BlueOriginAire Yeah but i do a lot of vertical fishing so i need the variable speed, far as i know only minn kota/motorguide have varispeed.. So far im not very impressed with the minn kota quality, I had to return the first 2 motors cause they ran worse then my 15 year old motorguide.. So im on my 3rd motor now and havent even been out.. atleast i got warranty for 2 years..

      @@nitro3899 I will I have a lithium Dacota battery 54 coming too it’s expensive but will give me more run time and lasts for over 10 years also a third of the weight of a 12 volt deep cycle battery comes with a charger too

      No. it hooks strait to the battery.

    Does the handle tip up and down, you didnt say. You threw that manual in rhe truck bed fast

      The handle only telescopes in and out, there is an adjustment if you want to move the whole trolling motor up and down.

    I just bought the 55lb thrust . I’ve never owned one before I’ve never done any boating. I got an inflatable boat that I’m going to use it with. Whenever I connect it to the battery… is it OK to test it by turning it on if it’s not in water? With the area around the propeller clear of course.

    So it's almost a year.... any updates? Likes, dislikes? Unit still good? I'm ready to upgrade my 45lb Minn Kota this month I think- buying this exact 36"/55lb MAX myself. **For my 12ft v bottom rowboat.

    Is yours noisy? mine was vibrating and very noisy but there's really nothing inside to grind. I used mine for the first time 3 days ago. Brand new.

    About how much do you weight I’m about 300lb see this 55 got some pick up on it. How long will it run on that battery. My boat is 10ft

      I'm around 275 and my boat is 16ft. I would say a 55 on a 10ft boat would give you way more than enough power. I use mine mostly on farm ponds and have never ran out of battery. I just did a one year update on this motor where I answer questions on speed and other things.       I don't know of any way to add a foot pedal to this model. I would suggest buying a model that comes with the foot pedal.

      Its 16 ft. and this trolling motor will push it about 3 mph.

      My old boat is old and pretty heavy so I would guess it would weigh around 400 pounds.

    I don't know if you know this or not but there is NO difference in speed between the 30lb or 80 lb trolling motors. It's 5 mph. The difference is how fast you want to get to 5 mph

    For a 10 foot kayak, will the 30 pound be sufficient or should I just go with the 55 pound motor?

      It should be enough. I was actually using a 30 pound thrust on this jon boat with no problem before I decided to upgrade.

      @@Sonnenkind0815 ​ The battery I use is an EverStart Deep Cycle battery from Walmart, it is group size 29DC and has 845 MCA. I use this on a 16 ft. jon boat in farm ponds and have fished pretty much all day and have never ran down the battery.

      I have taxis 33, just bought endurance 40, my boat only 8 feet. 33 was trusty 5 years, and long run, near shore. Used 3 batterie. The brush are short now, needed change. I needed a bit more trust, because tide in narrow channel. Shaft was 30, now 36. I will miss the moving handle, but good new engine to continue historical shore exploration. Also, like your video and finally, a TH-cam min Kota demo...with a life jacket on. Please people, put life jacket to all onboard. Doesn't matter how cute your boat is, when shit happen, it happen...life jacket always on, BEFORE you get onboard. HAVE A FUN BOATING SEASON
