NTA. OP should check with his grandparents if they are around and explain the situation to them but also get a DNA test because something is gnawing at me, saying that his stepsister is actually a half-sister

He has no right to make a child that isn't his own take a DNA test. He could buy her one when she's older.

NTA, don't piss on my leg and call it rain. OP accepts the new dynamic that the father set and now he's mad, the nerve of some people.

I have to commend this young man for making a decision to put himself first. His decision was difficult and heart breaking! NTA!!! Some relationships can not be repaired simply because both sides do not feel it is broken, do not feel it is important, or can never admit they could ever be wrong. Those relationships are the ones we should walk away from because they are ultimately not healthy. Best of luck young man! May your life be extra blessed! ❤❤❤

It’s crazy how the dad ignores his son, and then gets mad when his son lets him. How he misses all his son’t events, and pretends he doesn’t exist, then gets mad when others try to explain it to him. Gets mad that he can’t even remember a time he’s has out his bio-son above a step child. Like, he could bring the family with him to see his son get an award, or watch his game/talent show. He wanted the son to build a relationship with the family when they could have by coming to those events.
And it’s hilarious that when he tells his son to leave, he’s mad that his son left. He gave up a friendship because he was told proud to admit he’s acting like a shitty dad.

I hope Op's friend's Dad has room for another son, because his own lifegiver sounds like a huge piece of work.

This father is outperforming lots of women in being a passive-aggressive diva.

He told you with his actions that you were no longer a part of his family. So now he's upset that you returned the favor? NTA

You should talk to your dad let your dad know how you feel and that when your mom died your dad used to always speak good things about your mom to you know that your wanted you and that even though your isn't physically in your life anymore that your did want you and will always love. Also let your dad know that once he met someone new in his life you feel like he replaced new wife's daughter over you that your dad stopped spending time with you that he gave all of his time to his step daughter and forgot about you and he doesn't care about your feelings or how him not wanting to spend time with you is making you feel and that sense your dad pushed you out of his life you don't want anything to do with your dad and that's your right to have who you want in your life and that sense your dad forgot that he has 2 children not just one that you'll forget that you have a dad and go no contact with your dad and his new wife and kid and move on with your life and live your best life ever and GOD bless you too.

He did do that Dad refused to admit he'd effed up. Multiple people have tried talking to him, he doesn't want to hear it. He wants the OP to comply and act like the dad didn't abandon him. The best thing OP can do is gather up evidence of his father's neglected incase the ex dad tries to bring in the cops.

Dude.. HE DID. THE DAD'S FRIEND DID, OP'S FRIEND'S DAD DID, PRACTICALLY ALMOST EVERYONE HAS TALKED TO THIS FATHER, THE "DAD" JUST DOESN'T WANT TO LISTEN TO ANY OF IT. This dad isn't worth talking to at this point, because let's be blunt, he simply doesn't give a f*ck. POS dad, he had ALL THAT TIME to fix sh*t, he didn't WANT to, he got angry at his SON for not going along with what HE wanted despite knowing the f**king problems, and even BLAMED the son practically for their no relationship. The son doesn't have to do anything to try and fix this, the son had been trying at an age you shouldn't HAVE to beg for your father's love and attention.

Grating robotic voice. Ends abruptly. About one-third of a story. No satisfaction, just an annoying squib. Don't waste your time.
