Constipation Meditation: Guided Imagery For Relief From Bloating And Abdominal Discomfort

  • This meditation is for constipation relief to help ease uncomfortable bloating using guided imagery. Most constipation is temporary and it refers to infrequent bowel movements, difficulty pooping, inability to completely empty the bowel, or the passing of small/hard stool. It accompanies Irritable Bowel Syndrome with Constipation (IBS-C).
    When your belly is bloated from infrequent bowel movements, this meditation can guide you through relaxation to help ease your pain.If you want to use guided imagery to assist in your healing from constipation, this meditation is written and created just for you. I chose to make this after a few requests and also hearing that some of you use my meditations while sitting on the toilet 💩🚽.
    If you're struggling with constipation, I know you're looking for relief in a non-medicated way, but always follow your doctor's guidance. Relaxation exercises such as this guided imagery can help in addition to professional medical advice. Here on the Generation Calm channel, I believe that stress management deserves a seat at the doctors table and these meditations are meant to arm you with the extra resources and tools to empower your healing journey and keep you more in control of your symptoms.
    A medical diagnosis is important. Please do not be embarrassed to talk about it with your doctor. Chronic constipation is one of the IBS symptoms and along with the infrequent bowel movements, there can be accompanying abdominal pain and abdominal bloating. But there might be other reasons too. Keep a daily diary of your bowel movements and general lifestyle habits as normal bowel habits vary from person to person and what stage you’re going through.
    Extra tips:
    • While sitting on the toilet, put a stool under your feet (like a squatty potty) so you're in the perfect position for a good poo.
    • Relax your pelvic floor muscles to the best of your ability. Straining is tempting, but try to do the opposite.
    • Take the time to poop when you feel the urge.
    • Increase your fiber intake (under the directions of your doctor).
    • Increase your level of physical activity.
    • Be sure to drink enough during the day, preferably water.
    • Do not use crash diets as it will mess with your digestive system.
    • Do not try to self-diagnose chronic constipation, please see your physician.
    • Try self-massage for your belly in a clockwise direction.
    • Chew your food thoroughly and eat mindfully.
    • Drinking coffee may stimulate your need for a bowel movement.
    I hope this meditation provides you with some relief. You might also like to use my pelvic floor meditation. As this is often tight in someone with constipation.
    Find a quiet place to get comfortable (yes, the bathroom will work) follow my soft voice and allow your mind to conjure up the pleasant images I describe. It might take some practice to get used to the process.

    I have been listening to this audio for 2 weeks. It has helped me with my stomach issues. Recently I experienced something and my overthinking causes my heart to palpitate. It has been thrice that I have cried while listening. My heart rate goes down and I feel peaceful. Thanks Clare for this video and in my healing journey

    I have problem with ibs and constipation the simptoms get worse when I get my period and the pain is unbearable this helps a lot thank u I am in the bathroom at the moment and it helped me poop. 👍😊😉

    I fell asleep to this at 5am in excruciating pain. I woke up and hour later and finally relieved myself after a week of suffering. This is sorcery 🧙🏻‍♀️

      I haven't gone for two weeks now. It's horrible. People underestimate the pain. I deal with stomach issues all the time. This channel is a god send

      ⁠​⁠@@palestar828I’ve been dealing with mine for years now & it’s 3-4 weeks to go most the time because of my peristalsis not firing properly. I know the pain & the fear of going or trying to go to the point of tears & anxiety! Ive seen doctors, specialist, had all the tests that can be done, until being sent to a surgeon that did some final tests to see if removing or shortening my colon was the answer & found my system was not firing to vacate. He still wanted to do the surgery 🤯 I found it outrageous since he’d finally gotten answers & said removing it wouldn’t change the fact it wasn’t working right. I’d read about what life would be like after surgery & just new issues to deal with. So didn’t go through with it. I’ve recently gotten to a place where I understand the “tools” I need to get thru a BM when it comes all at once. No doctors recommended anything for comfort to get thru them. Like preparation H for a lubricant that’s very helpful when you’re dealing with such mass. Oranges actually help soften your stool faster & more efficiently than stool softeners. Always have a stool or squatty potty when you’re going for proper posture. Drink at least 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water everyday. Warm water helps during too. Suppositories work better than enemas if you’re blocked up & stool softeners help too. 👈🏽These were the only 2 recommendations I was given.) Increase vegetables & fiber in your diet. This meditation & others help relax you & your second “brain” which is your gut in order to go & release the fear of the pain you’re experiencing or know that’s coming. Magnesium is beneficial to going. Pre & probiotics help align your gut. I just found out using Ghee instead of other oils helps repair & get your colon, gut & digestion in line. Nutritional yeast is also beneficial. Most sites say taking mineral oil or castor oil to lubricate from the inside out so ghee & other oils also help with this. It’s why putting ghee in your coffee is so popular. If you’re a lady look up splinting for constipation & rectocele. I always drink more water than needed but still very dehydrated & electrolytes have been helping me since I started using them. Eat an orange everyday this started helping me the last month & I can’t wait to start the nutritional yeast & ghee. Like I said I’ve been on a very long journey to heal & tried everything so I’m just sharing the things that have been the most beneficial. I’ve lost 30 pounds in a couple days time with how badly it’s been for me at times so I know the pain. I hope some of these things will bring you relief if you have this as a reacuring issue since I wish someone would have shared them with me without all the pain & suffering & then trial & error. 🙏🏻

    Relaxing muscles in an area that you can only feel pain in; is difficult at this level of constipation

    Everytime I go on vacation its ruined because I cannot poop. So if it's a week long vacation I do not poop. Work travel, too. This is so HARD!!!

    For me, the solution was chia and psyllium seeds. The Meditation always helped well at first, but then the constipation was so stubborn that not even the strongest remedies from the pharmacy really helped. Then suddenly a catalog with food supplements fluttered into the house and my eyes got stuck on the seeds, 3-4 times a day a teaspoon and digestion was working again.

    I place a candle at the end of the road and burn it and there is an empty wonderful chair and I take a picture of our Mother of God or our Mahashakti as presented in the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and place it into this chair and SHE is suddenly present there and I bow deep to her feet and look into HER eyes for a long time and slowly go backwards in utter happiness. The garden is around the tempel Matrimandir in Auroville.
