The word "bardaginn" itself is an Icelandic word that means "struggle" or "battle," so I'm betting that the song is going to be about some kind of internal or external conflict. Stoked!

My Translation and some notes for things I wasn't totally sure about

Máttahrið is likely just a combination of Máttr+hríð” meaning “might+time/awhile”
Ástarvin is a combination of “Ást+vin” meaning “Love+Friend.” The actual meaning is a bit unclear and this is just my interpretation of what they may have meant.
*2 I am only familiar with the word “frer” being a rare form of the word frost, but given how strange Old Norse poetry

I can’t be sure of this line since Brjótumk is clearly “Brjóta” meaning break/destroy, but Brjótumk is not a real conjugation, unless it is combining “we break” which is “Brjótum” and a rare form of an “I” conjugation which sometimes adds ek as a suffix to the end of a word. An example of this is “Skalk” meaning I shall (Skal+ek). This would literally translate to “We and I break I.” Maybe Kalandra will tell me. LOL
*4 The word Verðandi is unclear unless it is literally just referring to the Norn named Verðandi, which would mean "Nevertheless, Verðandi is my sanctuary"

Kalandra has also acknowledged that their interpretation might not be exactly accurate but it is "translated with creative adjustments to enhance the flow & readability of the text."
*Personally I prefer the translation of magic instead of song, but both meanings are held in the Icelandic word.

Kalandra’s music always finds some way to deeply resonate with me. My favorite line is “Tommorow is hidden from me” I am a chronic worrier about the future and this one line almost completely resolved most of my current anxiety about the next few days, weeks, and months to come.

Making use of heavy, violent, extremely dark and even shocking imagery, the video simbolically depicts and denounces the world we live in, as well as our frequent inner and emotional conditions. And fits perfectly to what is politically and socially going on on the planet. We are ALL CHAINED and DESPERATE ! And, amazingly, it's not so much different as from a long distant past. Humans don't change, most of them never learn anything with life and history... And, as to the music, I truly love Kalandra. Great band ! Best regards to all of you.

Самое ужасное, когда фанаты начинают хвалить своих любимых исполнителей даже тогда, когда те явно пошли не по своему пути. Клип нагруженный, но слабый. Звук хреновый. Стиль вообще не их. Это коммерческое поделие для сериала, из которого сделали клип. Лучше вовремя сказать нет, чем с грустью через некоторое время осознать, что группа окончательно ушла от своих истоков.

Been on a massive Norse binge since seeing Heilung live a few days ago, absolutely LOVE this! New favorite band added to the list.
Wow! The sound of old norse is sooo good! And I love the atmosphere of the song. It is so heavy, dark and anxious. It evokes a feeling in me... similar to feeling when you are struggling with something inside your head and you are not winning. Something like drowning in your own chaotic heavy thoughts... and you don't give up but in the same time you are no longer able to breath.
This song and video is just as good as i hoped it would be. Wow. A wonderful experience from start to end. The music is fire and the same goes for the video. Thank you Kalandra for yet another great song!!! 🤘🤘🤘💥💥

Incredible song. I think this version is mixed better than the one on Spotify. When that amazing bass comes in in the Spotify version, it "squashes" the other sounds. That doesn't seem to be the case here though.

I've been a long term fan of you guys, and every time you've released new music it's managed to strike such chords in me that I struggle to find words to describe. Every. Single. Time. And this is no different. I adore this slightly more aggressive sound and style, especially the descending guitars in the chorus. It's so simple, yet so incredibly powerful. And the visuals - so beautiful, so poignant, and so tasteful. Seriously, THANK YOU for bestowing unto the world this tour de force. I am literally shaking with excitement for what's to come.
Loving the norse music. Called my Camper Van "Sleipnir". Sometimes my son says "your bus is vibrating"...of course. All the interior in the Van have nordic names..."Niflheimr" for the cooler, "elthasid" for the kitchen, "Rúm" for the bed...and so on
I like everything I have heard by Kalandra so far so I was excited to see this new video. Not what I expected, but YES!!! GIMME MORE! While this was a different style than I've heard from you prior, I can still tell it's Kalandra. You could do just about any style and It seems I will still love it. There is something about your band that really hits home for me. I look forward to seeing what comes next!
