Yall I been playing this song back to back to back for three days since I seen it on tic tok! I didn't understand it wen I was young wen it came out but these young girls jammed this song! They song it like they were older! Wat a sexy coming of age song!❤❤❤❤ they was only 17- 19 wen they recorded this song! I love it more since I know wat they talking about!
Yoo... I'm a 28 year old 80s baby.. just discovered this song last week and can't stop playing it. Might be my favorite jam of all time. This song is bad ass........
I dated this guy from Jordan (absolutely FINE with these light green eyes, anyway getting off the subject) and he showed me a poem a past girlfriend gave him and said "the poem is so pretty", once he started reading it, I told him that poem is a song(this song). He said (in his broken english)" no, she told me the poem is straight from her heart." I told him believe me it is a song from the 70s.
This song brings back many good memories of the times when I was in a singing group called "The Friendship Five" a group that I helped co-founded. We sang this song at a club in Brooklyn in the 70's.
OMG!!!!! This takes me back to my childhood. I remember my mom buying the 45 of this and then the album. To this day, I still LOVE and remember this song!!! This STILL stands the test of time!!!!!

Thanks for posting. I've had the single all these years, and it is still very enjoyable. What you have here s a nice "extra" adding to what I already like about the song. I remember them performing (lip-synching) the single version on TV back then. Looking back now, couple of times it looked like they were expecting to do this full version, but they caught on and nailed it!
Its a damned shame to turn on your radio to listen to some music and all you get is the crap they play now. If you are like me you end up getting that CD of oldies that you burnt and then the day seems okay again.
Lol, is that a non-American 'thing'? Traveling in West Africa i would meet guys who would actually take you out and begin to recite r&b songs...like they were THEIR words! Or pass you a note with a song written out in letter format. I used to be like 'Dude, really? This is MY music, from MY culture, blahblah. And yes, the same insistences in broken English 'No no baby, you must to understand, this from my heart'...VERY funny.
Jermaine jackson had a choice between Switch or Higher inergy he put all the money behind Switch and Bobby debarge got on those drugs and the rest is history

I denno Millie Jackson recorded this version too until I came across it just now...
