I heard W and G in 1984, when some my brother's friends came to Rio de Janeiro from London with a cassete, with PSB album!! Amazing 80's, amazing Rio on that time, amazing PSB. This song is masterpiece, is part of our life....
That was the song that touched me the most in the 80's and had an impact on me and strengthened my love for music. And still influences me today as a dance music producer...
Was watching the Top of the Pops repeats tonight and Ben Liebrand's name was mentioned by Jenny Powell as he'd remixed something that had charted in 1989 (the 23/11 episode available on iPlayer, it was just during the chart rundown, they didn't play it). Meanwhile on TH-cam I played the remixes of the Sleaford Mods cover of West End Girls - including a remix by PSB themselves! - which has just been released in support of Shelter. The all-powerful algorithm then thinks 'ohh, so you like mixes of WEG eh? Well have I got one for you...' and delivers me this beauty by none other than Ben Liebrand. Does make me think my laptop is listening in though...🤖🦻
It's been never on Spotify. It was announced, I even bought from Edinburgh Records a copy but PSB didn't authorized the mixes. They authorized Grum Mix of WEG....So I gave up trying to understand their standard.
@@winterland2011 Nope, it was Bobby Orlando who rejected this. The Orlando acapella can't be used (an agreement between PSB & Orlando). That's the reason why it is removed from Spotify. (Information came from an interview from Ben Liebrand, the maker of this amazing remix)
