Yamaha has not changed anything in this model of bike since it was introduced in the 80's. So any replacement parts and upgrades that can be bought for a 2024 TW200 will fit right on to a 1986 TW200. The only thing they do with each model year is change the tank color, graphic design and fender plastics for a different color scheme. My friend still wants to get one of these even though he has a much more powerful motorcycle. They're fun trail bikes. :)
70mph?...lol down hill in a hurricane maybe. other then that 55 tops. . If you want to go off road very far replace the tin can skid plate with a real one. Also replace the child size toot pegs. This bike has a serious following and a great community of riders. Plenty of mods and aftermarket parts available. Great little bikes.
These bikes are next to impossible to find new, they come into dealer , don't last but couple days, folks love these for camp bikes and commuting bikes, I honestly might get one down the line after I aquire scooters for the family.but top speed is between 65 mph and maybe 70mph in ideal circumstances, Yamaha makes a similar xt250 might be little better for highway, but tdubs got cult like following rival the ruckus!
I watched someone fit an aggressive atv tire on the back wheel of one of these a few years ago because the tire choices are very limited. Since it's only a 12" rim there's many choices of atv tires that'll fit. :)
Duel sport, as in battle bike? Sounds like a challenge.
Thanks great video, looking to get one pretty soon.
I am excited 😅

That’s what the the dealer was saying nothing has changed on these bikes since the 80s
@@slowridersmotovlog201 If it isn't broke don't fix it. :)
still salty i didnt get to ride this at this msf :/ looks like a optimal like bike for trails and exploring
I have the 2024 as well and it will do 70 but it doesn't like it. 55 is fine though. Fun little bike.
If you change the rear sprocket to 47t it will be easier on the engine at those higher speeds.
Beautiful!
Thanks
Whats the top speed on this bike?
53-55
Womder how that would do on a cannonball? Seat doesnt look comfortable
I don’t think it would be comfortable for a long trip at all.

They definitely seem like fun off road bikes

Thanks for the great insight

Yes 1 problem with tw is lack of rear wheel option, but the market is slowly bringing more option for it
