I package frozen food for a living. I have a customer that makes a ton of food for Olive Garden. It’s mass produced in factories and delivered, reheated and served in individual restaurants around the country. You’d be surprised how many popular chain restaurants are just reheating meals.
Same with steakhouse chains- their sides are pre made and prepackaged so the portions are controlled. Only the steaks are cooked there so the smell is in the restaurant.
I been going through a lot of mental shit bro (a bit older in college/away from home) wtvr, but the other day I ordered Wing Stop and looked up the flavors on TH-cam to find something new to try and came across your videos and it brought some peace watching these food reviews! It's crazy cause today I seen you had a Wendy's review so I ordered mines and put ur vid on like it was a flick and ate 🤣 keep doing what ur doing man! It's doing something!
FYI to those who don’t understand the reference at the beginning , in Northeast NJ we have mom and pop pizza joints basically at every corner that are 10/10 all day. Granted I moved away years ago , going to Olive Garden would be the = of someone from texas going to Nebraska to eat Tex mex
i’m glad you said texmex and not bbq… cause we only have like 3 GOOD bbq chains/restaurants here that are good.. everybody in texas knows it’s better to just fire up the grill in the backyard ourselves.
I used to work here and getting to take home so much free food was always the best part. I loved the lasanga fritta and the chicken alfredo with angel hair pasta.
1. Their best soup is Zuppa Toscana 2. Their Alfredo sauce us made in house daily, how do I know? They messed up the sauce once and served it to me. I asked how it was prepared improperly and they the sauce broke when the cook was making it with the cream and the butter due to high heat. 3. I need to know what jarred alfredo sauce you eat thats better? Not being funny but i genuinely need to know because I would use it vs making my own at home from scratch lol
Yes, please. Also, I'd leave to see him rate the elites out of all of the 10/10s he has given. For instance, is the Olive Garden breadstick or Texas Roadhouse bun better?
I traveled to Europe and stayed for 3 weeks. I went to France, Spain & Italy. I could never look at American Italian food the same way 😅 once back in the states. We have a huge Italian population and a little Italy where I’m from, but even the more authentic restaurants are more American. Europe’s overall food was completely different and in a good way. Amazing delicious food!!
I’m born and raised in South Jersey, so we never went to chain Italian restaurants. I moved to Tampa a year and a half ago, and while there are some really good Italian restaurants they aren’t as plentiful as NJ. I find myself going to Carrabba’s when I’m craving takeout Italian that’s close by and I think it’s definitely a step up from Olive Garden. Would you be willing to try Carrabba’s and compare to Olive Garden? Enjoyed the video!
I personally love mom and pop Italian restaurants as well, but sometimes my friends and I go to Olive Garden just for something simple (and of course for drinks haha!)
Olive garden makes all their soups and sauces daily everyday nothing's Frozen they make the lasagna everyday the only thing that's frozen is a chicken parm that you're eating
Not true. Meat is frozen then thawed. Vacuum sealed. Only the soups and sauces are in house from scratch. Almost everything is microwaved. Lasagna is already prepared, reheated.
I know what good Italian is, we have some here, and no Olive Garden isn't the greatest, but it's not bad. I will say that it's HIGHLY dependent on what you get. First, you have to get the house salad. They have a good Italian dressing. Second, they I don't think they have it anymore, but they had a really good mushroom and cheese ravioli. Their tortellini is good, too. But I think if you go there and get basic stuff like fettuccini alfredo it's going to fall short. Olive Garden is really known for it's salad.
I had the chicken Alfredo from Olive Garden last night. You do have to doctor it up. Add salt, grated parm, and a squeeze of lemon and it’s actually pretty good. It’s just a little underseasoned. But the chicken is well seasoned and adds a lot to what is just a plain fettuccine.
They were generous with that dipping sauce for the breadsticks lol (which isn't bad, I love when a resto is generous) and not doing paltry little portions designed for instagram... I totally agree on the breadsticks. I also love their bottomless salad, the dressing may be a bit salty for some but it's my jam. The rest of the food isn't bad like you were commenting, just not great. I will have to get takeout though for a nice bag of free breadsticks!
If you look it up. The real Alfredo comes from Italy. Ita only homemade noodles and butter. What America and all other countries are use to whats called, americanized verison. The original restaurant of Alfredo is still standing and operating, that's where the name came from.
I get very few things from here lol. Their Alfredo is amazing…I could drink it lol. Chicken Fritta Fettucine Alfredo, Calamari and baked ziti fritta is an amazing trio .. I get it every time lol 6:46 there is notttttttt lol that’s crazy 😂
I’d love to see you get food from Maggianos right down the road from that Olive Garden . As far as chain Italian goes to me Maggianos is the best . Hopefully you’ll do Maggianos in the not too distant future.
You gotta try the stuffed mushrooms. They're awesome. Haven't been in years however now being older, I'm usually always disappointed at chain restaurants.
For bread sticks-those are big. You can only appreciate excess salt on a hot day and it doesn't look like a hot sunny day. If that Tiramisu isn't sweet, I'm diabetic-I would try it.
I used to eat at Olive Garden often in the late 90’s early 2000’s but I got the Chicken con Broccoli or Pasta Primavera, mussels in wine sauce. Not the stuff you ordered.
I crave the soup salad and breadsticks. My friend turned me on to ordering a side of Alfredo to dip the breadsticks in. Also the toasted raviolis. You gotta just take it for what it is. No one goes expecting authentic italian. Its good for what it is.
It's currently popular to criticize Olive Garden. However, in my city, none of the local "authentic" Italian restaurants are better. People act as if visiting those places will provide an authentic Italian experience, but the truth is, they don't. Maybe it's different in places like NY and NJ, but price is also a consideration. For example, lasagna in the small local Italian restaurants are around $30. On the other hand, Olive Garden's Zuppa Toscana, which is extremely hard to find anywhere else, and some of their specialty pastallent. However, their chicken parm is not good. restaurants cos dishes are excellent. Olive Garden is not that bad. People just love to hate on chain restaurants. It is usually the ones that hate on chain resturants are the same ones that love Taco Bell and Starbucks. lol
Now that you've done Olive Garden after doing Ruth's Chris Steak House, you should keep doing Darden Restaurants. How about Yard House or Bahama Breeze next?
If u go to olive garden again u have to try the appetizer lasagna Fritas. It's like fried lasagna pieces with marinara and Alfredo on them. Ask for extra Alfredo on the side.i think if u like the mozzarella sticks ull love those.❤. Nice video
My gma likes them, it's not really my thing as I usually go to legit italian spots. I enjoy their chicken margarita dish (it's pretty low carb with a good amount of protein) or the soup salad and breadsticks- and the soup I get is the chicken and gnocchi (which is bomb). One of my best friends who was my drummer for over a decade in metal bands always got the taste of italy, it's a lot of food. Never heard of them having a wedding soup but I worked at the top restaurant in my city as a bartender in college and got the best italian wedding soup there and if it's even half as good it's probably amazing.
Just a reminder how far the Timberwolves have come with that Brandon Roy jersey. I got a season ticket promotion when he signed with wolves for $3 per ticket 😂. Tough way to go out this year but future looks much brighter.
I had almost the same reaction to my first (and last) try of olive garden. The pasta was okay, but the chicken was tough. The soup just tasted like generic noodle soup to me. The breadsticks were decent, but definitely nowhere close to a 10 for me (more like a 6). The lasagna was very disappointing as I've had frozen ones that tasted better. Your take on the cake was spot on. As someone who doesn't like coffee, it wasn't the best for me. Overall, olive garden is very mid and I would rather spend money elsewhere. Not to say that it was terrible, but not worth eating again.
Its been a minute since I ate there but when I do its buttery bread sticks and salad lol it hits Diffy for me but I do enjoy there salad with the salty olives pepperoncinis, red onions croutons salad dressing lol I don't get any pasta or soups.
Unless its a really good pizza place I can hardly bring myself to spend money at any place like Olive Garden. Its so easy to make your own better and fresh.
KS: Too much sausage in the meat blend Me: 🙃🤭 I appreciate you attempting Olive Garden. The north has some damn good Italian restaurants that needs to come to south Florida!!!
Olive Garden is like the Italian Applebees😬
But it’s still good ❤❤
Perfect way to put it
Anytime I ever went I just got the breadsticks and salad
Exactly!
Why does everyone hate applebees I’m trying to figure out what I missed..
I package frozen food for a living. I have a customer that makes a ton of food for Olive Garden. It’s mass produced in factories and delivered, reheated and served in individual restaurants around the country. You’d be surprised how many popular chain restaurants are just reheating meals.

lol it’s a chain restaurant 😂
Olive Garden makes all their sauces fresh…
@@trollzone1 Fresh out of the can you mean 🤣

That zuppa toscana smacks if you ever go back.
that’s literally the best thing on the menu. Unlimited Soup and salad and zuppa toscana every single time
I've never had olive garden's zuppa toscana but I make my own. It's crazy bc I made that for dinner last night and eating a bowl right now
All depends who's cooking it SMH
@@courtneylove9403 tastes the same everytime i go LOL
Do a series called "Bang for your buck" where you try the same food from a few different places and see which is the best food for the $$$

Carrabba’s is easily one of the best chains. Excellent recommendation for a chain.

Fair assessment. I like them for a quick lunch. It can be salty and I like the tiramsu as well.
Will you ever do food trucks review?
You are correct about the alfredo sauce. An ex employee confirmed that its jarred sauce with added spices
