I saw Skynd live a few weeks ago. After she sang this song, she was close to tears herself. That is how emotional she is about this topic.
I noticed that this one has a strong emotional effect on her.
She is literally crying toward the end of the video. It’s so godsdamned sad.
I love the chilling analogy of her being a doll, that he replaces at the end (the box with the new doll at the door)
This is by far the most powerful and moving of her work.
Interesting. I thought it was the same box his wife came in and was representative of her being "returned".
I like (horrible word but..) the idea it's meaning the new model. Makes more sense actually since the see the wife after showing the box.

I love Skynd. Every video is a banger. And she does that vocal shift with an effect live. I always hear the song then go on to the research.
I like listening to it first also if I don't know the story yet. Try to figure out the story from the song. Research the details and research the video again understanding where all the lyrics came from.

I love literally ALL of Skynd songs but Jim JOnes is my lest favorite, not sure why. Look forward to her new ones I have seen been on lives shows. Video is sooo dang amazing how she keeps is artsy without showing bad things.
I was a friend of Shannan's. I miss her a lot. As soon as I heard of her disappearance and that her little girls were also gone, I knew that Chris had killed them. After watching his interview outside his house, that synched it. He showed no emotion toward his family. He was loving the limelight.

The part that gets me is when she says "tuck the baby's in" because Chris Watts got rid of his daughter's bodies by stuffing each of them into crude oil tanks called "batteries." Whlich had the circumference of 8 inches wide. After the murders, Nicole had Chris look up the lyrics to Metallica's BATTERY as he drove blasting that song. At the end she sings, BURY MOMMY NEAR BY." Oh and "daddy please no" is what the older daughter said to Chris after he smothered and killed his youngest daughter while and older daughter watched on in horror. She said "are you going to do that to me too daddy?" The week prior, the oldest one sang a song "MY DADDY IS A HERO." What a fucking scumbag.
I love this song by them first time I listened to it I cried so much. The messed up thing is when I went back and listened to it a second time the beginning of it before the once upon a time is what one of the girls sang about her dad and the no daddy no is what one of the little girls said to him before he did what he did to them

The "No daddy No "part and "My daddy is a hero " are actually things the older daughter had said to Chris
The older daughter witnessed everything and pleaded for her life and he still strangled her
And later dumped the kids body in a oil tank near his job
He at that time had said he had no remorse for what he did
There's a video interview that he did on the news after he killed the family and his whole deminer looked as though he was proud for what he had done
His life in prison I heard was complete shit because inmates with in the prison punish people that hurt kids
Not sure it it was mentioned in the comments but little more creepy factor supposedly the line of " no daddy no daddy please don't" was Belle Watt's last words. But I been listening to skynd for about an yr now and all of them has rekindled my fascination for true crime and killer's among us
But how he disposed of the bodies he shoved them down pipes that were like 8 to 10 in diameter into containers so literally had to crush them to get them in the holes that’s so disturbing and heart breaking I wasn’t sure if they were going to take it there and get that in depth on what happened, so sad a beautiful woman and adorable children gone 😢

I was sat just by the bloke who filmed this. At the time I wondered if the emotions were part of the show or genuine, but when I watched the video I realised. She has also said in interviews that she struggles to sing this because of the emotional content and often cries at the end.

So I’m a huge fan of true crime I know how and why people do what they do I can put myself in there world and build a picture on how they think BUT Chris watts is the case where I didn’t understand it could be because I’m a husband and a father of 3 girls he wanted a boy most of all he found out the baby was a boy so he was gunna get his happy ending but decided to cut the roots and start a life with a new woman which confuses me he could of just left but killing 2 beautiful girls and your un born child and your wife is crossing a line that no one can understand what makes it worse was woman was writing to him in prison asking him out wanting to marry him ect come on lady’s where’s your parental instinct 🤷♀️🤷♂️
