Conferences, symposium, retreat, away day, breakout session, the platform etc etc without any tangible outcome.

I wish the title could be “ Nigeria will keep getting Poorer and Poorer Until Corruption Is Over”. I remember reading a book by Chinua Achebe as a course requirement in my college years. The title of the book is “ No Longer At Ease”. It treats a flawed system that encourages corruption in Nigeria.
Take decisive majors to end corruption. Then and only then will Nigeria’s economic ailment be healed. This great nation of Africa with rich natural resources ( oil) should have been one of the richest countries in the world had it not been for the rampant corruption.
Oh! Africa ( Nigeria) arise and fight corruption in all ranks of the society. Then and only then will you shine out.
Jesus Christ can set us free from selfishness and corruption if we let Him be Lord of our life. If we commit our life to Him, He will show us the abundant selfless life . Selfishness is at the center of corruption.
    May God bless Africa!
    Your friend from east Africa

Every country is corrupt. In Nigeria, we are raised to be obsessed with tackling corruption, but solving Nigeria's economic problems has nothing to do with it. Nigeria can become the richest country in the world without tackling corruption. The richest places in the world, as well as the fastest growing are always the most corrupt. The Nigerian obsession with fighting corruption is misguided.

@@kogiman Nigeria's main economic problem is a lack of fiscal responsibility built into the system. Every institution in this country is funded by Abuja. The NFF and the NPFL are funded by Abuja, no matter what happens the FEC will just give them more money next cycle. But if the NBA, or the Premier League mismanage their funding they will collapse, for this reason useless people don't get promoted there but our own is run by people looking to chop allocation money. The same issue applies to our state governments, local governments, etc. Federal allocation is the mana that keeps on flowing. In other countries they have grants and transfers too, but it is never meaningfully bigger than IGR and their municipal, local, and regional(state) governments can go bankrupt. In Nigeria a local government can have no IGR but it will still receive billions in allocation.
Our governments are the only institutions where people can get money endlessly without ever doing any work. Nigeria's problem isn't corruption, it is that our government is full of people who know their bread is buttered even if they don't do the work. The politicians are not at fault, if they don't do it someone see will. We are the ones who setup and continue to practice a governmental system that allows them to do such a thing.

This "praying for global war" perspective of Bros Oseghale is one crazy view a lot of people are scared to voice out! Kudos on putting it out there sir. No lies detected.
BTW, most of the people who mismanaged all the oil windfall in Nigeria are still very much alive and well ... what are we going to do about them?
Very insightful presentation but will they listen? ... Lest we forget the immortal words of one ozuor, "na 'sassissis' we go chop?"

This is a justification for subsidy removal, just that the penalties in our anti-corruption campaign must be swift and deep! Our resources need to be used rightly, not looted.

Very quality analysis which should help all of us to understand what obtains in our country.Nothing to boast of by our past leaders that had the opportunity with increased revenue but did nothing to create wealth and social amenities.
