The one I see is people on the phone while they are trying to handle their finances with me. It takes me longer to get answers for me to help them properly. I told one person, because I know you are pressed for time. I will let you handle your call and I will be here ready for you when you are done. They then ended their call and I had their undivided attention.
Calling to use me as a therapist, talking about themselves forever, and resisting when I try to end the phone conversation. I stopped taking their calls as often. They are dear friends, but they are exhausting. I would love any insight you may have.
Thank you for this important video. People speaking on the phone come across me in the street, it feels like they speak to me, also in open work spaces. This is the mistake I notice. Another one is spending hours on the phone sharing every personal detail. Greetings 💐
Thank you Jamila! I really liked this video. I also don't like receiving calls and I've noticed how sometimes people call to tell you something that could've been said through text or email, especially here in my country where using WhatsApp is SO common and convenient, where you can even check if the person you're trying to reach out is "online". So it's important to know how and when to call. I also find surprising that lot of people don't know WHEN to call or send messages and let's say, text/call you for something related to work on weekends or at odd hours (i've received messages after 9pm expecting to get an answer right away) and it's concerning too.
I loved this one Jamila! It was so needed. Thank you for teaching us. This helps me not to feel guilty over my aggravation of being interrupted. Jamila can you discuss the etiquette around boundary setting and establishing when to strongly enforce, with politeness of course 🥰
This three-times-ringing-rule seems random. Most people don't even manage to get to their phone within three rings. And if you don't want to be bothered by calls at work, turn off your phone or put it on silent or just hit the cancel button. If I can't answer the phone immediately, I just hit the cancel button and call back later. Now people get criticized for using a phone for its intended purpose - making a call...
Ms Jamila, teach us also for Greetings Etiquette in person 💕✨ like how should we behave on smiling, wave hand, short talk, compliment receiving, and if there's more. I can't wait for your next valuable lessons with us!
Hi Jamila. Thank you for posting this video. I miss your ootv at the end 😀. I have a request for a video on updated face and body care and also on makeup. I purchased your product recommendations and they were amazing. Thanks.
Hi jamila can you please make a video on last day at job, how to exit an organisation without resentment etc Also the dos and donts of joining a new workplace and overcoming anxiety
Informative & necessary video. The common mistake I see is people increasing their voice to the point of shouting when perhaps the network is down or the other person's voice is low. And I have a question; How do you speak on the phone to someone you haven't met in a while? you guys probably met somewhere, exchanged contacts & it's been a while since you talked. Should you even call that person...? if yes, then how could you approach it?
Good Morning Dear Jamila! 😍 I Like To Make Phone Calls, I Feel That It Is More Appropriate And Professional Than Writing Messages. 📞 I Love Your Videos. 😘💋
What you need is a non phone cell. Put a message on your phone that no one is as important as you are. And make sure your phone goes to voicemail at 1 ring every time. Then never listen to them. Junk your phone altogether. When a loved one dies makes sure the family knows not to ever let you know. Especially when reading the will time comes. Or at work raise time comes.
Talking of making video on being a guest in someone's house reminds me of my schoolmate, she came in my house with me and she opened my fridge and ate strawberry without even asking and I had no idea when she open it, I only came to know when she said it
@JamilaMusayeva So it was harder back in the day because there was one person on the phone and the others had to wait if they wanted to talk to someone and it was just fine. The problem now is that people get annoyed when they have a phone call without previously messaging. I feel that we are more lonely now because we have isolated ourselves from others and so being on the phone on social media, scrolling for hours becomes more enjoyable that hearing your friends voices on the other side of the telephone. I just miss the old days🤣🤣🤣🤣
How to handle ghosting by professors and then them mocking you the day after about you texting them? (The text was professional, respectful and to the point) I'd appreciate any advice. Thank you
At my university, we evaluated professors at the end of a course through a formal process. Make sure to include this unacceptable behaviour in your evaluation when you finish the course. If you don’t have this process at your university, I would report the professor to their employer after the course ended.
Hii Jamila, my name is Jyoti and I am from India .Hope you are doing well, your instagram page is not accessible since last week. . Is everything all right??
i am a medical student , and i find many mean and rude nurses that are unwilling to cooperate in sharing knowledge , or doctors so i wish for a video on how to deal with mean ,high ego people
What’s the most common phone etiquette mistake you see people make?
putting a call on speaker in public and sending 10 messages in a row and not all in one.

Talking on the phone in public places
Jamila make an ettiquate video about "Being a guest in someone house"
omg yes.
That’s a good one.
I would love the opposite too: “being a good host for a house guest”.
Or "Jamila please make" ... "Jamila make" sure sounds like an order to me. For instance: "Weird, please spell etiquette correctly" 😉
Great idea
You’re glowing in this video! Love the makeup and hair.

Thank you so much Jamila for this excellent advice! Expecially about the speaker! Using it without telling , can lead to very embarassing situations!

Hi Jamila, please make a video on WhatsApp Messages Etiquettes or Texting Etiquettes also😊
What about interacting with seniors in your life they only call and expect you to call them they dont text or email ?? Thanks
Please take the call from grandma. This does not apply to her. At some point in the near future you will find yourself missing those calls…
I need this 😂
I was eagerly awaiting for you.
Specially wanted a video on this content.
Special thanks to Special One from my Heart .Lots of love..❤🥰
I am so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️
I really miss the times when people would just call each other on the phone and it didn't bother anyone being called without making an appointment.
People could not make such frequent calls because not everyone had phones and if they did it was one landline for the whole family.

A useful video but I do wish there were less gesticulation.

That's the norm for that field. Especially nurses (they are the worst in this regard) and surgeons.
