a little help please, design options palette in not available in my palettes list. Also, Document > Design Option does not exist in my Document folder. What can I do? Thanks in advance
new option feature is probably biggest improvement in v27, to be fair (all the rest are minor, imo). and you can basically done this in previous version by using demolition filters.
I don't get how you can turn on/off the distance guide. I see how to check "on" the optionnal feature in the work environment, but I cannot find the tool icon that you have in your toolbar to turn it on/off without going back and forth in the work environement. Please help.
It was a bit tricky to find, but I’ve worked it out…If you go to Work environment-> keyboard, shortcuts-> then click current menu structure, change it to “ all new commands in alphabetical order” then scroll down till you find “ Show/hide distance guides (experiment)” then set a custom shortcut… and you’re good to go 👍
Hi guys I am new here and I wanted to design 3d form of my house. Which programs do you is easy to use and have more function which makes house more real Thanks for answering beforehand
Do the design options work with demolition? As in a wall is demolished in one option and retained in another? If not it doesn't sound all that useful for work with existing buildings.
@@SuperToobzz Yes, now I've tried it and it doesn't seem to be possible. The only way I have found so far is to use the opening tool to remove sections of wall and put those on the options. It can be made to look not too bad but is only faking it. The trouble is the design options have been added on as a completely separate thing - they really needed to be integrated in to a redesigned renovation filter. It will work fine for people doing only new build, but 90% of our projects are on existing builidings.
Indeed, each element can only have one demolition status .. so I’m doing the same, making those elements part of the various variants, not the main model
The material folder might be helpful for some. I don't need the design option since i just set up up my layers and switch back and forth between them, been doing that since version 4.2. yes this has a shade to it but that would confuse my clients if its not the same as the rest
It's nice, the design option is the best feature in it, but we write AC27, but the soft still have elementary unsolved problems, and crazy limits, but all is overcomplicated instead of simplified, still in 2023. For exemple: I can't change by two click the projects font to a desired font. Or I need to remodel an entery roof structure after a meter changing of the floorplan. We still can't sepatate demolished and new composite parts. The AC have no a usable, intelligent, automatic dimensioning. I need to set and place everything, every drawing elements to layouts, we cant use xls databases az project info, can't calculate urbanistical coeficients, the schedules are too uneditables, can't customise or modify easily a window or door,, just presets, or need to model it. The walls, roofs are too hard to customize. And a floorplan can't modify by one point, or line, just one by one. Can't set a section as new, or demolished, just by layer. etc, etc, etc....

Finally distance guide, it has been forever in Revit and was lacking in ArchiCad
Un grande sw,l’ho usato negli anni 90 x partecipare a concorsi di architettura importanti👋🇮🇹🇮🇹
Super cool! nice features, cool presentation, thank you
Thanks mate!
Nice . really helpful . i have been searching for this presentation for a while now so thanks😊
Please could you do another one for the rénovation tool?
Glad it was helpful!
Hi! At 9:42 you open a search menu to change the fill. How do you access the menu? Unable to follow your cursor :)
Please how do you bring out items you grouped in folders?
Did you think the new design options is gonna substitute the layer combinations? for schedules elements or something else?
how do you put mutiple design option in layouts?
a little help please, design options palette in not available in my palettes list. Also, Document > Design Option does not exist in my Document folder. What can I do? Thanks in advance
mate, do you have your own template? i wonder if you can trade it?

I think the distance guide is also a big one, especially for people switching from Revit to Archicad

Thx but why keep the 3D window always against the source of light 😢
Do you have a tutorial for that building?
Yep! here's a link to the full tutorial

doesn’t seem like it.. this was literally the first thing I tried for a small remodeling project…

So you have multiple sets of different layers for all the different building elements? Sounds like an easy way to clutter the drawing file to me?

Still far behind revit in functionality
